Itt post acne success stories

There was a bread a couple of weeks ago about skin care routines. I bought maybe $20 worth of product and my face is almost entirely clear. If you're going to spend hours in the gym, you owe it to yourself to spend a few minutes for clear skin.

stop consuming animal products and oils. this includes dairy meat and even """"healthy"""" oils like olive oil.

This is a meme, just wash + exfoliate in the morning and wash at night

this will not work for most people with acne. you should be washing your face regardless. I dont know what the fuck exfoliating is but im not gonna do it because I am a man, not a fruit.

>Guys how do I fix my fucked up looking face

>wash and exfoliate

>lol that's gay dude

Are you for real? He's not telling you to put cucumbers on your eyes and visit a spa. He's telling you to take care of your skin. Are you that easily freaked out about your masculinity that you'll let it make your face look like a pizza?

Get it together, man.

i used to have massive acne at 14-16 years old

from 16 till 19 it was moderate, at 20 it started to go, at 21 i would rarely get a pimple

i never took acene pills, i hated them because of the secondary effects

dont listen to
dont listen to them, just wait acne eventually will go alone

>exfoliating is gay but veganism is not
Wew lad

Meat is a good source of zinc which helps tho. Or just take a zinc supp

Accutane.

>that 30 year old guy with acne

>have acne
>grow up
>acne goes away
nig success

>isotretinoin

This is pretty much going nuclear on your acne, but if all fails this doesn't. It might take 2 or 3 curses, and heaving exercise is not advised during, but it's still worth it.

Long Fasts/ Dry Fasts do wonders for the skin. An OMAD routine is very effective too.

>had what I assume was cystic acne when I was 16
>looked like boils on my face
>had such nice skin before
>begged my parents to take me to a dermatologist
>dad: "just put alcohol on it lol"
>did it, made it worse
>mom: "here, try proactiv lmao"
>tried it, made the skin between the acne nice, but didn't help the acne at all
>beg and beg to go to the doctor, finally they take me
>we talk about accutane, but he starts me out on tetracycline to see if that would work
>does jack shit
>finally get on accutane, clears it all up completely within about 9 months
>got first serious gf 2 weeks after finishing it
>been ten years, still have dry lips and face, have to moisturize every day
>totally worth it

I started getting acne at 26/27, I still haven't found a way to get rid of it yet. I've tried nearly every prescription medication, short of accutane (can't risk take it due to my brother being a textbook case of the negative long term effects), I've tried most recommended diets other than going vegan, I've tried allergy/sensitivity tests.
Adult acne is in my genes, and I think the case for most people who have it moderately/severely. Take your family's history for acne (including aunties and uncles and shit) and go by whoever had it worst, that'll be when it goes away naturally, more than likely.

Fucking this

>that guy who still has acne at 30 years old

BREATHES IN

Tell me about it.

Luckily, a lot of women do, so it's only men I get shit from, really.

>help me guyze, my pretty itty bitty baby face has P-P-PIMPLES
>lol exfoliating is gay

Theres plenty gay about you already

Where's any of the evidence supporting this? I see it plastered around all the time yet I drink dairy daily and don't have acne.
Acne is far more related to genetics than diet.

Acne is all genetics, unless you have diet sensitivities you're unaware of, but that's the exception. Diary can make acne WORSE, but it won't be the cause for 99% of people.

Cold. Fucking. Showers.
I thought it was a meme for years. I had pretty bad back acne since 16 (24 now) and nothing worked.
Eating clean, drinking tons of water, quit drinking and weed, plenty of sleep, regular exercise, acne body wash, etc, nothing worked.
I finally tried the cold shower meme and it mostly cleared up, i still get an occasional pimple, but its WAY better.
My brother also got it bad so im thinking its mostly genetic, but the cold showers alleviated a lot. Ofc i still sleep with a clean shirt at night, eat well, drink water, blah blah, but the cold showers was the most noticable difference

>Cold. Fucking. Showers.
nice meme

guess I will never get rid of my back acne

My acne is the worst it's ever been. Been getting it since 13, 22 now.

Im not suggesting anything, im just telling you what worked for me. Many things that worked for other people, didnt work for me, and im sure cold showers wont work for everyone else

acne is ur body's way of saying don't reproduce with me. it's in your genetics bud

For me it was milk.
I used to drink that shit all the time as a kid and teenager, stopped around freshman year of college.
My acne immediately started to calm down. I was actually really annoyed it was that simple.

I took the advice of the /fast/ fags. On day 6 currently and almost all of my inflammation is and redness is gone. Going to have dinner tonight and try another bunch of days next week sometime.

Met a girl when I started accutane. several weeks later after I finished, GF. I'm making it brahs

routine? any other infos and things you did?

starting warm then cold or just cold? tell me some, Im desperate and would try everything

how much time did you need to realize it was milk?

This just seriously get on accutane, it actually works

>muh side effects

Chances are you might just have to carry chapstick around

I started doing hot for the wash then cold at the end but it didnt work, then i did the entire shower cold and i stopped getting new pimples after a couple days. I dont keep it freezing cold but as cold as i can tolerate, which at first was probably room temp. Now im used to it i can go much colder.
I also use very little soap to not irritate the skin. I just use an antidandruff shampoo as a body wash (a common home acne remedy) on days where i work out, so 3x per week. And other days i just scrub my back lightly with a loofah and water to hopefully get rid of dirt and stuff

LOL. Great advice

>Acne is far more related to genetics than diet
True, but the importance hierarchy goes
>Genetics > Diet > Topical skin care
Diet plays a huge role.
>t. went from Chad in highschool to Eugene in college because of acne. Have since gotten over it by cutting out dairy and drinking water non stop

Same here. Only the meme-iest of remedies worked for me. Cold showers + nofap have done more for my acne than years of experimenting with tried and true prescriptions and remedies

Are you doing a water fast or are you using the snake juice?

Your skin is an organ that needs to be taken care of as much as your muscles, heart, and liver. Proper care goes a long way. Start with a gentle cleanser to wash away excess oil, cool water, not hot. Your skin doesn't need to be cooked anymore than your kidneys do. If you shave do it before this step, a small amount of body wash to clean and prep the hairs. Press a warm, NOT hot towel to your face after for a few minutes. I recommend switching to a safety razor, learn to use it and it'll be better than the disposable ones.
Following this comes exfoliation, chemical is gentler, but depending on your skin type you may need physical. A simple AHA of 10% or less is fine for most people doing chemical exfoliant. PROPHYLAXIS IS IMPORTANT, and is the next step. A face wash with an acne wash every three days, more if needed. Finally a moisturizer. Do not cheap out on this, if Gold Bond leaves your skin oily or encourages breakouts, spring for Cerave and budget for it.
Do not hesitate about asking for medication from a dermatologist, but DO follow all requirements. If you are on Accutane, don't fucking drink, your liver can fail if you do that. And prepare for gains lost, it makes your bones and joints too weak to handle the weight you're doing so tone it down.
Your skin is the first organ everyone notices, so give it the due attention it deserves.

ITT: Retards who never had serious acne in their entire lives. Allow me to reddit space this one for you brainlets.

- Change your pillow cover at LEAST every three days, preferrably more often
- Don't use abrasive products on your face; this includes any salicylic acid (check the ingredients, seriously, almost all of them have this) and other exfoliating things. Absolutely do not use any phsyical exfoliation like microbeads. You're creating microtears in your skin which is perfect for bacteria.
- Moisturize every morning after taking a shower and brushing your teeth. It should be the last part of your morning routine. Get a good product which is absorbed quickly, like Neutrogena Visibly Clear.
- Use sunscreen to reduce hyperpigmentation and aging skin.
- Don't consume ANY dairy, it's one of the top contenders for acne.
- Eat minimal amounts of carbs, also a top contender.
- Use benzoyl peroxide for emerging zits. Don't go overboard and use too much, it doesn't help more than using just a little.
- Get a pack of sterile lancets which are used by e.g. diabetics for checking their insulin levels. When you inevitably get a whitehead zit (not before it's a whitehead) clean the area on and around the zit, then gently poke a small hole in the white part of the zit and apply a HYDROCOLLOID BANDAGE. Leave it for 1-2 days. The bandage will absorb all the disgusting content of the zit and allow for the zit to heal on its own underneath, in a sterile environment with minimal risk for further infection.
- Don't touch your face with your hands EVER unless it's for cleaning it.

There you go, you now have much better skin within a month. Feel free to screencap this for future threads, because my advice is so fucking solid and you'll want to spread my words of truth.

Started changing face towels 2-4 times a week now based on the advice from a random user.
My acne has gotten a lot better.
Thanks random user.

>face towels 2-4 times a week
Just get a roll of lint-free paper towels or a big pack of microfiber towels for one-off use. Even having a specific face towel in the first place makes my previously acne-ridden face cringe.

Would you rather : a. have a limp dick and no libido or
b. somewhat fixed face

pick one and only one

Good luck with your hormone imbalance.

Mositurizing my back after showers actually helped. Still have some old scars but it's pristine in comparison once I started the habit. Reccomendin', personally used lotion with salicylic acid but any good lotion is better than nothing

>Moisturize every morning after taking a shower and brushing your teeth. It should be the last part of your morning routine. Get a good product which is absorbed quickly, like Neutrogena Visibly Clear.
came here to say this

Eat a serving of carrots daily. Along with a serving of healthy greens(spinach is easist imo).

Ive had acne on my temples, cheeks, neck and back for 10 years now. my doctor just tried putting me on a Minocycline prescription with Benzagel spot treatment. im on week 3 of 4 of my prescription and its hit and miss so far.

It has done well to cut most new problem spots down by about 85-90%, but there's still a few problem spots appearing in the most common zones and the old scars and redness isn't fading at all, i know i'll have to see a specialised dermatologist for that.

At first since Minocycline is an anti-biotic, it messed with my gut flora and made me loose energy and sleep, but eating more dairy seems to help. There is also a chance that once the prescription is over, it'll all come back.

My dick works fine, speak for yourself.
I don't need any luck when my testosterone is disproportionately high.
I agree with all this aside from carbs. It is FAT, not carbs, that ruins your face. Fat goes directly to fat cells and lines your veins causing atherosclerosis (heart disease i.e. fat clogs). If you did not consume so much oil you would not have such oily skin. Otherwise decent points. And think about it like this: look in the family picture book. Look at your grandparents and great grandparents. They were all lean, acne free farmers who sustained on mostly corn. They ate minimal dairy and meat compared to today when the average american consumes bigger portions more often. Humans evolved on a corn (corn meaning grain, not just maize) diet. We did not evolve to consume all this animal fat. Acne is a logical result of consuming animal fat. Thus, reduce the animal fat and you will be pleasantly rewarded with clear skin.
Instead of using accutane and worrying about drinking, just become vegan, don't use accutane, and don't drink!
Snake juice is a meme and you can just fast on water alone. I did an 11 day fast with no salt just the other month and it didn't feel any different than the fast I did using salt.
This this this. Also big emphasis on the water part, drinking ONLY water goes a long long way to preventing acne.
I used accutane about a year ago and it was the worst 2 weeks of my life. I went on my usual swim at the gym and the next day my skin was flaking off and if I brushed the flakes off more flakes would appear. My joints cracked ALL the time (although didn't hurt). I literally could not go 5 seconds without thinking of killing myself. My friend back in highschool was on accutane for 8 months and yes, it DID nuke his acne, but he was always somber and depressed.

It's gone because you're losing weight more than anything. Then it's gone because you've lost bloat (70% of your body and thus weight loss is water). If you want to sustain the improvement to your skin, start a whole foods plant based diet with no added oils or animal products. McDougall diet (a modification of the vegan diet).
>Going to have dinner tonight
I would highly recommend fasting for at least 12 days. It's likely you'll just binge for the next few days. Just fast longer in the event that you do binge, then at least you lost something overall.
Also this.
You're an exception, and you would still see improvements to your health and wellbeing if you cut the milk. If you WANT the IGF-1, just purchase the chemical from a lab in china instead of getting who knows what hormones that come from the cow, and all the fat.
you think 2 different posters are the same person, also I'm 0% gay, you have double gay.

>Look at your grandparents and great grandparents. They were all lean, acne free farmers who sustained on mostly corn.
You make a good point about fat, not saying you're wrong, but our grandparents and great grandparents also didn't eat as much sugar-like carbs as we do today. When I said minimal amounts of carbs, I wasn't referring to rice and grains, but rather "bad" carbs like bread and sugars.

Accutane. Plain and simple. Once you do a 6 month cycle of that shit, you don't have to worry about diet, changing your pillow case, or any other meme solutions. I finished my cycle just under a year ago and I'm completely clear. Some scarring but its fading fast and barely noticeable.

Dont listen to this spastic.

Get on tetracycline and sit in the sun to clear up your spots.

What really helped me was the acne.org regimen.. It's about 40 bucks and makes your faceshittier for the first 2 months and then it cleans up really well. Haven't really had a zit in months and have gotten great complements on my skin.

For me, the cause was irritation and dryness. It's important to exfoliate and all but if you do too much or use too many chems/remedies it will do you worse.

I'm not even joking when I say quitting dairy just made my acne magically disappear. New cysts literally just stopped appearing about 2 days after stopping. I still occasionally get pimples on the old infected spots, but that's gradually slowing down as my skin is recovering. The only bad thing about it is you learn to hate life because you literally can't eat anything delicious since every fucking thing has dairy, whether it's chocolate or even fucking chips.

If you have acne like OP it is likely hormonal and related to increased androgens.

Dont listen to these fucktards saying about washing your pillow and reducing carbs and shit.

Your only saviour is courses of antibiotics or isotretinoin/tretinoin

>but our grandparents and great grandparents also didn't eat as much sugar-like carbs as we do today.
What happens to carbohydrates? They are broken down into simple sugars. Glycogen. Just look at DurianRider. He's a vegan, on steroids, and full time cyclist. His breakfast is literally an 800 calorie smoothy of nothing but fruit and literal table sugar. He eats 7000 kcals a day, mostly from sugar. It's not sugar's fault. It is fat. People have fallen for the "fat is healthy" myth because they are not physically active aside from occasionally lifting weights and do not realize that the body NEEDS carbohydrates and sugar for quick, powerful energy like endurance sports.
>I wasn't referring to rice and grains, but rather "bad" carbs like bread and sugars.
Provided you are eating leafy vegetables every day and watching your total calories, there is little difference in the nutritional quality and impact on your health. For people not on anabolic steroids (including myself) i'd say starchy vegetables are better than simple sugars, but if youre a pro athlete the sugar will have its purpose in high quantities.

Anyways, FUCK acne, FUCK fat as a nutrient and as adipose tissue. Fucking keto fags and their nonsense.
Treat the cause, not the symptom. Resorting to acids and retinoids is not a good long term solution. The body is giving your face acne for a reason - you are consuming too much fat in your diet. Aim for 70% carbs, 20% protein, and less than 10% fat.
Wise words but just drink more water and eat some starchy grains like potatoes man. This kills cravings. I still eat the occasional pic related, theyre made with milk powder but one serving a week is a nice compromise to my diet.

>tfw cleared up face
>now have bacne

Oh well. It's worth it.

Green tea , 100% pure green tea one cup after every meal, if you are a poor fag like me you can refill it works just fine . Give it time and you will se visible effects after a few weeks. But be careful it can potentially hurt your liver wich you dont want.

>on steroids
aaaaaaand your point is now moot

Sylaic acud had same problem....hyperpigmentaion n ice pick marks will be the hard part.

Acne is easy now but scars n discolorations a bitch

Have the exact same problem brah

are you fucking retarded. did you even read? sugar is fine in moderation, I just suggest people consume starches instead of simple sugars so they feel more satisfied from their meals without overeating. also, most people should be trying steroids at least once in their life. I couldn't handle the increased hematocrit but aside from that I felt like a god. 100% recommend everyone do a basic testosterone cycle at the minimum. unless youre a bitch?

>

It depends 100% on what kind of acne you have. If you have a bunch of cysts it's internal, you have some hormonal shit going on. You're either deficient in something or you're eating something that's bothering your system. If you get the occasional pimples, then you should attempt more simple shit like not touching your face and clay masks, exfoliating, moisturizing etc...

Not an argument

you're a retard. Cystic acne will not go away on it's own. The occasional zits you got as a teenager don't compare to what other people have.

Is there anything I can do to lessen a pockmark? It almost looks like a small hole on my face.

Second this. Had sever acne, did accurate for 6 months now I look like I got vampire skin

Just a tip for anyone that wants to use drugs for acne:

It completely bars you off from EVER donating plasma.

Donating plasma is the easiest part time job ever btw

I used to have somewhat bad acne, nothing horrible. I just clean my face with baby wipes every night before bed now and it's pretty much all gone

Does that affect gains?

No, but plasma donating is a super easy form of extra cash

Donating plasma? Depends. If you're on a steroid like Equipoise, you will literally have to donate plasma to avoid getting dangerously high (or irritating) blood cell counts i.e. hematocrit value. Of course you don't tell the people taking the blood youre on steroids ,but they wont know , nor does it matter for the patient.

Accutane*

I had it bad until i was 16 yo. I finally went to the doctor and asked if there was anything i could do. He put me on an antibiotic for 2 weeks. Tetracycline. It cleared up and never came back again. I have permanent scarring and just wish i had asked sooner. Happy its gone but bummed that i am so anti-doctor that i will always be reminded of my inaction.

I've just gotten this short as undercut and realised that there's all this acne that was hiding under my hair. Looks disgusting as fuck

What the fuck do i do about it. My actual face is clear from generic skin routine

also got rid of hyper pigmentation with vitamin c cream

LISTEN UP FAGGOTS, CAUSE I'M ONLY GONNA TELL YOU THIS ONE TIME:

1)STOP TOUCHING YOUR FACE. EVEN IF YOU HAVE PIMPLES READY TO POP, LEAVE THEM THE FUCK ALONE OR YOU'RE GOING TO MAKE A WOUND WHICH WILL SCAB AND THEN YOU WILL CONTINUE TO PICK IT. JUST DON'T TOUCH YOUR FUCKING FACE
2) STOP. EATING. SHIT. ESPECIALLY ***SUGAR*** AND ***CHOCOLATE***. FUCKING. STOP.
3) DRINK. MOTHER. FUCKING. WATER. NO, ONE SODA IS NOT "OKAY". WATER, NIGGER. CAN YOU READ? W-A-T-E-R.
4) WAIT ON RESULTS.
5) ENJOY YOUR CLEAR SKIN.

>lost the genetics lottery on my fathers sides
>cystic acne that nothing would help (OTC, Proactive, diet, antibiotics)
>finally get acctuane

Skins never looked better

>tfw I'm 30 and the last time i had acne was 13 or 14 years ago

accutane

I started eating avocado to clear my skin and it worked wonders.

get the fuck off Jow Forums you meme eating hippie
seriously how did you find this site?

a pal of mine went to his dermatologist and they said one thing you can do is cut out sugar and dairy

>cut dairy
how will i get big

how to get rid of back acne? I don't know how to get rid of this shit, and I'm addicted to picking it

Attached: post-89446-1231218365.jpg (2592x1944, 1.8M)

ive been here since i was 12, newfag
Im 19 now

stop using steroids.
anecdotes anecdotes... look at the scientific literature. stop. eating. fats.

go to amazon any buy a couple six-packs of neutrogena.com/skin/skin-acne/body-clear-body-scrub/6807000.html

use it on your whole body every day when you shower, this shit worked miracles for me.

thanks to a previous thread on Jow Forums i have decided to purchase:

1. cleanser - cerave foaming facial cleanser
2. exfoliator - stridex maximum
3. moisturizer for night - cerave PM
4. moisturizer for day (incl suncreen) - cerave AM SPF30

how am i doing lads? i don't have acne but i want to maintain my youthful skin for as long as i can. slightly oily skin

i plan on cleansing and moisturizing at morning and at night before bed, and exfoliate twice a week (at night, between cleansing and moisturizing)

Bro...those are lesions...
You have aids.

Don't rub that cerave AM on too much/long. It'll pill on your face; especially on your eyebrows.

what do you mean? you're supposed to leave it on

When you're actually applying it to your face do it quickly. It rubs off very easily.

Covered in acne in face and back/shoulders through much of my late teens and 20s. I obsessed over it, finding creams and medicines, anxiously pick at them without realizing i was making it worse. In my 30s now, face is completely clear, back has a few small bumps from the scarring and i refuse to try steroid injections to try to shrink them.

Honestly what worked best for me was to stop paying attention to it. Washed me face morning and night, nightly showers to clear up any residual oils, no rough scrubbing or medications. I made a point of just enjoying life and stop being so self conscious about it and it all went away on it's own.

If you don´t have acne just wash your face wih water. Maybe a cleanser once a day if it´s very oily. Will do a better job to maintain your skin than thousand chemicals. Use a sunscreen when needed.

Just fast

Try using green tea as a toner.

Unironically true. Cut out dairy and most of my acne cleared, cut out greasy foods and it pretty much cleared the rest. I still eat meat but always try to eat as least processed meat as possible. Dont listen to the idiots who say acne is genetic, its not. It's all diet.

Chemical exfolitation is like liquid shaving. When you shave you exfoliate the skin technically, but you also leave small cuts. Chemical exfoliants like saliyic acid/benzoyle peroxide clean the skin. Quit being a filthy fucking barbarian.
