There's no benefit in it in comparison to regular meal timings, in fact all mammalian animals tested on meal frequency are more muscular and less fat when distributing their nutrition more evenly throughout the day.
Maybe one roidfag or two online with amazing genetics might be able to cope with it long term, but they also "fast" with amino acid supplements so basically they're never really fasting.
Martin berkhan is one of those guys, he's never really fasting that long, he's always consuming isolated amino acids throughout the day, or at least consuming them in the morning.
There's also 0 benefit in fat loss in sticking with IF as opposed to regular meal timing when controlling for macronutrient and total caloric intake, meaning that there is only possible downsides and 0 benefits.

I'm running a 500 kcal deficit currently and it's pretty comfy, been eyeing IF/keto for a while, but it just seems like veganism (i.e. a form of light mental disorder). So many people are defending it but their claims pretty much end up being "wow you will feel so much better, even Plato was fasting all the time!"
Doctor friends of mine also tell me that eating only 1 a day (a la IF) is bad because you make your whole digestive system under huge stress due to it being forced to process all that food in a short amount of time, instead of evening it out during the day.
I also have no problem eating at a given deficit, so "it's just so easy to control your weight with IF!!" is a retarded argument as it doesn't seem to apply to me.

I can understand this logic. I'm not partial to keto diets even after being on one for 6 months. It does work good initially after transitioning from higher carbs, but it's effectiveness seems to trail off after about a month or so. Once you lose that initial shock, you seem to adapt and weight loss slows or stops without tracking calories.
I see from your earlier post that you cite vegetarianism to be superior to the others listed. Is this the diet you follow, or were you just giving opinions on the diets listed?
