Is there even a fix for this? Had it for as long as I can remember but it doesn't really affect me thankfully

there's a million 'fixes' online

whether or not they actually fix it seems to be subjective

i have a theory that my tinnitus is caused by skull non symmetry. ear in which i have tinnitus is a few centimeters lower than my healthy ear. i can even feel with my fingers that they have different shaped and sized tubes. was also thinking maybe mewing can cure it at least to some degree if it actually realigns the facial bones and makes them more symmetric. got nothing to lose ill try it for a few years.

Look into neurocranial restructuring (Not as extreme as it sounds) and facepulling

What is the best way to clean your ears? Don't tell me with water, that shit doesn't work. I get so much wax buildup, I feel like I need to get those things that ear doctors have that suck the wax out.

There's no fix if its permanent damage.

However there are some factors that can cause temporary tinnitus. For example overexposure to loud sounds/noises. There's also a factor of stress involved.

You can try this method:

It has helped me sometimes to actually alleviate it.

Not cleaning it for a month and then cleaning it once a week, because you clean it so often you're producing a lot of wax

There's a spray you put in first that dissolves some of the wax. It feels weird as shit to spray in but you let it sit for a minute or so then pour some water in with a special pippette.

Guys, I've HAD tinnitus. And still sometimes have it.

The difficult thing about it, from my perspective, is that it has a lot of reasons. Like, really a lot, making it impossible to get one cure for everybody.

For me, the reason was that, under stress, I was hiding in front of the computer. Not doing any more sports, just playing games. And that in a very bad posture.
So my head was coming forward and my shoulders and neck were really tight. And those strained muscles were the reason for it. As simple as that, and I found it out after tinnitus-courses/-classes and what not that all were focusing on how to deal with it once it's there and not being negatively impacted by the existance..

What helped me, was really focusing on my posture, doing more sports, reducing stress.

Fun fact, I still get it after doing Overhead Press, when my neck is stiff, but it is not loud or anything and I can cope with it easily because I know what causes it.

congrats man, glad you found what's wrong. Please consider posting your findings on a blog on google or whatever so that it can be found by other people forever

adding: I've had it heavily under months of stress (e.g. being unemployed after university and applying for jobs, or after school deciding where to go). Those were the times when I was sitting a lot for a long time in a very bad posture.

Besides those months, I heard it, but it didn't effect me too much. Doing this course helped not really, a little bit maybe.

after 11 years of it's first appearance (I was about 18/19 years old when it was there), a doctor that I went to because of another topic told me that my neck is completely stiff and my posture bad, which is a probable reason for tinnitus.

I think this should be common sense by now, as I got to know it through the doctor.

On the other hand, I'd guess that 50% of this board with tinnitus might have it because of bad posture of the head and a stiff neck. Just really a guess, because I imagine people here sit in front of their computer for a long time and also in a bad posture, probably.

still here to answer questions, if anybody wants.

Is it normal to only hear ringing when it is dead quiet?

yes. or any other tone. most people have that.

Probably permanent damage then. It's only really noticable when it's dead quiet. But I love scratching my ears

>develop tinitus
>complain to mum about it
>she gets tired of my complains and pushes me to go to acupuncture
>don't believe in quakery and refuse
>finally go so mom will shut up
>doctor talks about energy meridians and that i have some blockades
>super skeptical
>puts needles in my right ankle and foot and tells me to lay down for an hour
>super annoyed that i have to do this 10 times, but whatever at least mum is happy
>literally drag myself to appointments, completely forgetting what it even is for
>after 7th treatment, lay in bed at home
>silence
>actual, fucking silence
>never have tinitus again
>???

i swear to god i was the last one to expect it, but chinese voodoo permanently healed my tinitus. It's been 8 years now and i'm golden.

probably would have went away by itself. How long did you have it before acupuncture?

Do you guys ever have the ringing comes out of no where during the day? It lasts for about 10 seconds and gets louder before becoming silent.

Also when i burp with my mouth closed and my head fills with pressure from keeping the burp in i can hear a weird squeak in my left ear.

t. Going to loud ass punk shows for 10 years and never wore ear plugs.

REEEEE WHY DID YOU HAVE TO REMIND ME
I FORGOT IT WAS THERE
NOW I'M GOING TO FIXATE ON IT AND IT'S GOING TO MAKE IT SOUND EVEN LOUDER

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Tinnitus is a meme.
If you have a broken receptor that fires constantly your brain is smart enough to ignore that signal.

get away from electronics

I've had this shit for as long as I can remember. Thankfully its a very quiet ringing and I barely notice it.

Fucking kek'd hard at the OP. Anyway,

>got sick a few weeks ago
>cough, sneezing and sinus pressure
>got on a plane
>didn't realize getting on a plane while congested is a terrible idea
>when we land, feels like my head is going to explode
>ears are both plugged like crazy
>lasts for three fucking days
>finally clears up a little, but still lasts two more weeks
>have long commute to school, listen to music loud in the car and at the gym
>right ear still plugs from pressure in car, super sensitive to noise and constantly ringing
>have headphones in at the gym, causes more ringing
>can't help it because right now without music I'll kill myself
>afraid I'm gonna permanently damage my ears if I don't give them a break
>finally almost gone after nearly three fucking weeks of plugged ears and EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Fucking sucked, man.

1,5 years

One of the causes is high blood pressure.

Yeah, I've had mild tinnitus all my life (about 15khz and unnoticeable unless I think about it) and some times my left ear suddenly sounds like under water and the right ear sounds like someone whistling a 1khz tone at full volume into it.
It lasts 10 to 60 seconds then everything gradually returns to normal in about 5 seconds.

About 9 months ago my left ear's tinnitus got suddenly much louder (constantly noticeable) and it's still that way, but the sudden 1khz in the right ear stayed the same.

Literally a non-issue, if you ignore it it will go away.

He's partially right.
Some people's tinnitus is caused by that, but there are many other causes as well.

There's hope:

Cure tinnitus:

CBD
reduce sugar below 30g added per day
meet micronutrient needs
meditate
release ALL muscle knots/trigger points anywhere near your neck and jaw

done

yeah that'll show those inner ear hairs

No, it is always caused by that, it's just that sometimes you become aware of it on account of a change in your hearing and following loss of ambient noise etc.

The only effective cure of tinnitus is either severing the vestibulocochlear nerve, which is generally not a good idea or counseling, e.g. CBT or something specifically targetting tinnitus like TRT.

Oh, and of course stress etc. is associated with increased perception of tinnitus, whether it is emotional stress or bodily stress as described in

That's just the most common kind.
See article and video here

Holy fuck this made kek so hard my tinnitus disappeared

YOU MADE ME NOTICE IT AGAIN MOTHERFUCKER I WANNA KILL YOU FOR REAL PIECE OF SHIT
