Accutane

I'm so close to making it, brahs. The only thing that's been holding me back all these years was my bad skin. It's been the cause for my depression and lack of confidence in day to day interactions. Now, I finally mustered the will to do something permanent about my skin. Evidently, I'm about to go on Accutane for those facial gains. Anyone here have any experience with the medication? How was it like for you? What are some things I need to know? Can I work out while medicated? What shouldn't I eat? Etc., etc.

>tfw were all gonna make it

You can work out but you might have weaker joints and your back may hurt. Avoid having vitamin A when you can, eating fatty foods helps absorption of the meds. Your gonna have to use lip balm constantly and have a skincare routine with cleanser and moisturizer so your face isn’t a total fuckin desert
Good luck user

how much you gonna take?
20mg a day for 6 months worked well for me, really wouldn't go other that else you start to experience bad sides

good for you by the way, it really is a miracle drug

I've been on it for almost 3 months now. Aside from being dry as fuck, including eczema, I also have random lower back and shoulder pains. There's also a general drowsiness every day, worse than I normally have.

But I haven't had a single zit on my face in two weeks (back and chest are still WIP). I'm a little worried about relapse because it's not a guaranteed cure like some maker it out to be but I'm happy with the results so far.

Fug, fellas. I box 3-4 times a week religiously. Hope the medication doesn't impair my ability to work out.

/no soap/ on the acne prone areas of your body. Not even memeing. Do it for at least a month if not more.

I'm doing it for my face, shoulders, and back. My face acne has improved substantially. My nose pores don't ooze sebum. I'm getting fewer and fewer ones on my back as well.

I was on accutane for 9 months i worked out very hard almost everyday and never felt any discomfort or had any problems due the medicine. I only took half dosage tho since it was too strong for my liver. Use sunscreen in the summer (not necessary in colder months) and have LOTS of chapstick. Hands sometimes went scaly as well but its definitely worth it. My acne is completely gone now and i highly recommend.

Can you expound, friend? How did you know the original dosage was too strong for you?

Shiiet. I didn't read your question completely. I thought you wanted advice other than Accutane.
I did Accutane for a few months. My joints were fine. I had to stop though because my liver almost got rich piana'd

Cause while on accutane you have to take monthly blood draws at the doctor to check your enzymes n shiet and then the doc had me go on half dosage. Only thing i personally noticed that was different on the full dose was just the effects of sunburn and chapped lips were slightly worse.

What?

Also i took this natural supplement called Silymarin which is a liver detox pill. Must have worked since my liver never anhero’d and i was able to keep on it for a straight 9 months.

My liver levels were 3x the upper limit. What my doc told me.

Only lasting effect ive noticed after finally getting off it is that my skin never used to burn because of el greeko skin genetics so i would just never ever wear suncreen and i was fine until i got on accutane and just last week i played tennis in the warm weather all day and for the first time while not on accutane my skin got really red. Rip :(

Yes. Fix your diet first: m.huffpost.com/us/entry/822163

And start on the lowest possible dose. LOW DOSES ARE ALWAYS BETTER. also stay hydrated, maybe buy this www.onelvl.com

Also get regular blood tests. For vitamin levels etc..

DO YOUR HOMEWORK

Do it through your doctor, you have to sign up for this ipledge thing to even get the medicine. And your doc will walk you through the whole process of taking the medicine. Once your done with ipledge the whole things actually pretty simple and besides chapped lips and not drinking, it really wasnt that bad. Hardly noticed it.

I didnt change my diet or start drinking that much more water and was completely fine. Really its not as big of a deal as youre making it seem like.

Drink alot more water buddeh, used to have way worse breakouts. Used to only drink diet tea. Made the change, drank water instead(still drank other stuff here and there). Skin started clearing in under a week. Also wash and change your pillow cases weekly

Been on Accutane three separate times
Expect dry as fuck lips and skin, your skin getting far worse before it gets better. Also got real dry eyes, blood noses and sore as fuck hips because of lifting

Works a charm, but if rough as fuck if you're not prepared

Most doctors have dosing guidelines based on weight. So for someone roughly 150lbs they would start with 20mg for a month to test the waters, then bump you to 40mg for a month to get you acclimated, then finally 60mg for the remainder of the treatment. 60mg is the goal for 150lbs, its considered the regular dose. However some people cannot handle the regular dose for their weight, which is why they up the dose over the course of a couple of months to the regular dose while doing blood tests. So they 'half' or 'quarter' does you based on the results of those blood tests. Alternatively they may have to go up another 20mg to a full 80mg if you aren't seeing the expected results on the timeline and your blood tests say you can handle it.

I did accutane for about 7 months and I got dry skin, some nose bleeds, chapped lips and sore joints. However the sore joints went away after a while, and it only affected my wrists. Simple moisturizer, Vaseline, chap stick and painkillers treat all of the issues. People get different reactions to it than others. Someone I know never got any joint pain, but sun burnt horribly and had nosebleeds every other day. Another only had issues chapped lips and joint pain.

I've broken out in small pimples all over my body since I started drinking lots more milk. Does milk really do that or is it something else.
