I started climbing almost 2 years ago and it's something I've gotten obsessed with. Anybody who climbs hard is ridiculously driven and motivated and those are good types of people to surround yourself with. There's also a lot of girls in the sport.

I climb 4+ times a week, usually bouldering. Top rope speed climbing is fucking crazy cardio.

It's an awful meme sport here in Europe atm. A friend dragged my there once and it was all soy.

I'm really curious as to why that is. Climbing doesn't exactly emphasize glute/thigh strength, and all the dudes at my gym (who are any good) are lean all over, but still the chicks are totally bottom-heavy.

Yep, rest no more than a few weeks, then you need to start rehabing, light controlled finger boarding is the best. People think it's hard on the fingers but it's a much more controlled environment than the rock or wall. All physios I've heard talking on the subject say the same - rest a few weeks then get back to it, nothing you do should hurt more than 10min after you stop, keep to that rule and you will be back much quicker.

I started doing top-roping at the gym here that has a neat rock wall and it's pretty fun trying to do the harder and harder routes but I'm still pretty low tier. They also have a bouldering-specific area as well as 20ft marks on the regular wall that they won't let you go past. I haven't tried the bouldering at all yet and I have no idea how to fall correctly, kind of want to try soon when it's empty. Also hear you can boulder here whenever the rec center is open even if the wall isn't, so I can look like a retard without (as many) people watching me.
I fucking WISH there was a real climbing gym here though this shit is super fun I just feel autistic going
