Its not too bad after a few years if youre a quick learner and have common sense.
Ive made foreman position and dont have to deal with as much physical work, just lay out my crew and deal with the office people.
If i keep this up ill retire by the time im 47, and by then who knows what ill want to branch out to.

And heres the deal: if youre smart and can keep learning, and have common sense and some balls, you can become a foreman after a few years.
If youre a total pushover, an idiot, or cant speak english well, then have fun doing grunt work until you retire.
Im personally aiming to become a Superintendant or a Project Manager so i may have to go back to school at the same time that im working.

It's the most irrational fear I have. I can't explain why, I don't even understand why.

The worst they would do is not help pay, which I don't care about, I have money saved. My mom is the same way, we both have no backbone. And my dad is pretty chill to be honest, so it's all really paradoxical and pathetic.

I'm 25 and just starting with fourth semester engineering.
Everyone tells me that it's completely fine to be a little older.

But it still fuels my depression that I've wasted away so many years of my life.

My mothers friend was working a minimum wage job at the age of 38 and decided to go to college (UK) with 16 year olds, then went to university to do a foundation year, then did her undergrad, and has just finished her masters. She has a job lined up 40k starting salary job lined up now to start in a couple weeks. Worth it in my opinion
