I buy a rotisserie chicken. Shred it.
And the place them in containers with different flavors,
Buffalo seasoning, BBQ, Cajun, taco, Korean, or my favorite mustard or siracha

My vegetables would be spinach. Mushroom and onions. Saute

As someone who is just about to get into meal prepping, any vital info I should know? Common mistakes or tips etc?

the easiest i do is chicken and roasted veggies.
cut up your veggies (broccoli, sweet potatoes, onions, peppers, zucchini, etc.) and toss them in oil and seasonings
cut up your chicken and add your spices or marinade
toss it in the over at 425F
make some rice and make your portions
that's pretty much OP's pic, which i did today

I find that Pinterest is a great site for recipes and meal prep ideas

Thanks for the info, I'll check pinterest too.

Question, how many days should be made at a go, a full week? If so, freeze or refridgerate?

>cook red lentils
>steam cook random vegetable
>pan fry fish file
>assemble and add salsa

Good shit user

some busy people do a whole week at a time.
i feel that the quality dips the longer it's been made. so i generally make like 2-3 meals at a time so i got my next day covered and there's no scenario where i come home with no meals ready since i cook every night. you can do more meals at a time so there's less overall cooking. but that's up to you and your schedule.
you can also make big batches of your side dish (rice, quinoa, veggies, eetc.) so you have that covered and all you need to add is your meat/protein.

anyone know if duck is a good source of protein?
what numbers should i look out for on nutrient information?

the lowest amount should be that protein makes up 40% of the calories
so for example, if a serving contains 100cals, there should be at least 10g of protein (since 1g of protein = 4cals) because you'd get 40cals from the 10g of protein

Why wouldn't duck be a good source of protein?

alright thanks for the info

If you make a bunch of one meal and don't want to get sick of eating it for more than a week straight you can always freeze it and eat it another week.

duck has a lot more fat so just worried

Fat is good for you.

okay user ill raise my fat consumption

It's what I mainly eat at work. I just change the vegetables and also put chicken or eggs instead of fish. Be aware though, you will become VERY brappy

Guys, I used to meal prep chicken+rice+veg all the time, but I couldn't stand the warmed over flavour of chicken after a few days.
Any way to combat this? I've been having to eat more vegetarian sources of protein recently because I just can't stand day old chicken flavour

damn that looks good. thanks for the recipe user

Brine your chicken and it will be juicy for days.

douse it in marinara or salsa depending on what you eat it with.

How do I get into pinterest?

How do you reheat rice? I can't cook enough for just one serving, and reheating is never close to decent.

>can't reheat rice
I'm struggling to understand this. Just cover the container and heat in the microwave 1-2 minutes.
If it's a hard/dry rice, sprinkle on a bit of water before heating.

Shit tons of rice, uhhhh some fruits, helluva ton of spinach, and once I get a way to blend kale into a drink so that it doesn't feel like I'm choking on solid food, I'll be drinking kale milk

I guess I phrased that poorly. What is the best way to reheat rice? I usually do what you suggested but it never comes close to the original quality. Should I buy better rice?

This is one of my favorites and it's an original recipe by me:

Put dry rice in the rice cooker and use half canned crushed pineapple and half water, a teaspoon of confectionary sugar and a hand full of fresh chopped cilantro to cook it with.

Thaw chicken breast and cut it into cubes. Put coconut oil into a pan and a small amount of butter, toss in the chicken and sprinkle a small amount of garlic powder, mrs dash and salt on it, toss it to brown it. Once it's cooked, add in cilantro, large chopped onion and chopped red bell pepper. Toss it around with the chicken and then put the lid on it and let it cook for a few minutes but now so long that the veggies are soft. Dump all of it out into a serving bowl and them put cubed sweet potatoes into the pan with a cup of water and put the lid on. Let it steam for about 5-10 mins depending on how small you cut the cubes.

Serve with the chicken/veggies and sweet potatoes on top of the rice. It's the bomb.
