Okay, here's the deal Jow Forums I think I might be anorexic. I used to be slightly overweight, and I fasted most of it away. I've gained a little bit weight back when I finally started lifting (hopefully noob gainz). I by no means look fat, at least not from the front. However I still have a sitting tummy and love handles and would really like to get rid if them. I've been doing OMAD since I started lifting and don't think I've lost any of the love handles and the tummy. I'm really, really tempted to into prolonged fasting again. Is that a bad idea?

I see my mistake was using that image in the OP. I don't look like that, he's in the single digits and I'm probably 20%. The point was that I'm dyel. Is it a good idea to prolonged fasting until I lose that last bit of fat like the one in OP and then work my way up from there?

Not necessarily. Intentionally eating insufficiently in terms of calories is a symptom of anorexia which can easily be highly deliberate and considerate.

anyway prolonged fasting isn't bad for you unless you dip below ~5% body fat. but you should be really certain about where exactly you are. maybe don't just eyeball it because dysmorphia can sometimes make people poor judges of their own bf%, just use some calipers or whatever. go to a doctor if you want to track it even more carefully

you're lower than 20 but don't worry about going lower. keep an eye on it though, really. you should have some kind of measuring going on here

Would depend on your height but I'm 6'2" at 20% bf exactly, and I'm still very chubby looking, a lot more than you. You're 15% at the absolute highest.

to clarify - I mean to say, feel free to go lower. you're probably 10-15. just don't go super anorexic because that shit is bad for you. like i said, just keep monitoring it.

Possibly, that depends on the exact circumstances and the severity. As a medical term it's rather vague. However, contemplating initiating long term fasting is definitely a prevalent symptom among anorexic subjects. I cannot recommend pursuing anorexia, it'll generally deprive you of any remaining self-esteem and reduce you to utter dog shit. Besides, it's highly addicting and demolishes your body ideals. If you wish to lose weight eat consistently (burn a little more than you consume obviously), exercise, and restrain yourself from eating insufficiently. Good luck.
