How do I make my waist look smaller?

It's not me on the picture, but my waist looks pretty similiar. What exercises should I do to look my waist look smaller?

Should I focus on working out my back or can I work out my waist and it'll look smaller?

I do eat properly, but I don't know what body part to work out to make my waist look smaller.

Blow out your lats and delts to develop a wider shoulder profile. Your hips will look small in comparison but still noticeable if your hips are wider than your torso.

ok since noone is actually giving advice:
Do pull ups, develop your upper body, especially delts and shoulders.
Once you have acheived this, cut, as other anons said.
Finally, work your core. The fat distribution will look better and less like a water filled baloon if there is muscle under to support it.

i have stubborn love handles like op but wider shoulders and lats. i hike a ton with a heavy pack and have a hard time keeping any weight on due to my lifestyle (trailwork and wildland fire). Due to the latter i also run and do calisthenics regularly in addition to the work. yet the love handles are still there. what can i do?
