For longer fasts, supplement electrolytes. When you feel bad, mix around 1/2 tsp salt and 1/2 tsp potassium chloride/citrate in water and sip it. Adjust as needed. Headache=more salts. Watery shits=more water

Dry Fasting: Fasting with no water. Dangerous, but it may speed up autophagy
Insulin: Hormone that regulates fat retention. Spiked by eating, especially carbs. Probably spiked by artificial sweeteners

I really like fasting for maintaining a certain weight. A 24h-48h fast per week keeps you pretty solidly in place even if you eat like shit. Super useful tool in the bag of trick for bodily maintenance long term.

you need to lift though. i lost like 4-5kg fat and no muscle. doesn't help to be low %fat without muscle. if i were you i would lift at maintenance while doing OMAD for at least 3-4 months before fasting.

The only way to push your body into ketosis without eating any fats is to practice urine recirculation

you want to avoid having your metabolism drop, since that means your body burns less calories throughout the day for keeping your heart beating, cells moving, etc. a low calorie diet is likely to make your metabolism drop. with fasting, your metabolism can actually increase by around 15%. try starting with a low carb diet (at around your TDEE), then a keto diet (avoiding carbs entirely, again at around your TDEE), then OMAD (as close to TDEE as you can) then fasting. thatll prevent you from getting hit with keto flu and let you fast for a few days relatively free. this will also allow your body to deplete its glucose storage to switch to ketones, meaning youre in ketosis. you can remain in ketosis even after fasting by sticking on that keto diet. so, after all of that, do keto + IFing until youre happy
