Muay Thai, but I hate sparring out of my weight range/skill level

>>non-boxers need not reply
I don't box but that didn't stop me from knocking out your mom's puss last night.

I’ve been boxing for the past three years now. Thinking about fighting for real, but I don’t have the dedication to become anything more than a part time ass kicker and rib destroyer.

I practiced Muay Thai for a while, but switched to BJJ when I changed jobs because I get to train right next to where I work.

I still practice what I learned and watch some videos though, I plan to go back eventually

Say that to my face irl lmao

that to my face irl lmao

Boxing is for niggers and mexicans

>I'm insecure that I don't have the stamina, strength, or dedication to box so I discount boxing as a sport for people Jow Forums tell me are bad

I've been boxing for like 3 years on and off and slowly started to lose my passion for the sport, but I've become interested in muay thai and mma in general recently and its kinda motivating me to spend all my free time training

Just started BJJ yesterday. I have a surplus of free time for the nest couple weeks so I plan on going to the studio every day.

How do you like Muay Thai compared to BJJ? What do you like about each and how would you compare their fight style and utility?

Enjoy your brain damage

Yes, been boxing for about 3 years. Fucking hands are made of glass, I swear.

Kickboxing but I might switch to boxing soon.

I used to.

Then I read about head injury stuff. I knew i was never going to box competitively, so I pussed out and moved to BJJ.

Still love boxing. But have learned to love BJJ as well.

I've been boxing for a little under two years, though I got antsy about the whole brain damage thing, so I don't spar as much as I used to. I'd sure like to though; if the brain could heal like anything else, I'd want to fight every day.

>if the brain could heal like anything else, I'd want to fight every day.

this so much

this, I love sparring but I don't wanna get alzheimers at 40

I did some individualized lessons and a couple of spars but not a boxer, it was to learn and mainly just for fun.

Lmao that gif is so autistic I don’t get why fit loves this sperging manlet so much

where do you/your mum live? pics? i may be interested in saying this to your face

started boxing about a month ago. training with guys that have many years of experience. luckily, much of the basic boxing elements feel like they are coming to me very naturally, and i have been making great progress.

after training with these really experienced guys, you get to know how stupid people must be to think that any untrained person, no matter how 'tough', or 'strong', or 'beast' u may think u are, a trained fighter would fuck. ur. absolute. shit. up. and you wouldnt even be able to hit him back.

I took group classes at a boxing gym for a few months, it was good fun but I had to give it up because moved to a third world country. It's the kind of thing I would have got really into if I started young, but I'm 29 and have a bunch of niggling injuries from sports/army so now I just lift.

Wasn't there some breakthrough about using oxygen after fighting to reduce the odds of brain damage? Or was that a shitpost on a korean pillow-fighting forum?

when you become a boxer do you just walk around with your gloves always on so you can challenge any thug

I do Muay Thai

I love boxing and fighting, don't mind the possibility of brain damage. I never planned on living a long life anyway.

I see the brain damage meme a lot on Jow Forums. Do you people actually think you will get brain damage from sparring and a match once in a while, or is it just a big cope?
It's the fastest way to improve senpai

roasty toasty shitposty

got him

Attached: inionüoijdex.jpg (170x169, 32K)

I've been boxing for years and i can surely say it made me a lot dumber. It's not a meme

You will 100% get brain damage from sparring and fighting once in a while. Soccer players are getting brain damage from heading the ball sometimes

No, there's only one martial art worth doing and that's Catch Wrestling.

why don't you catch this dick in your mouth faggot

Don't think about brain damage in terms of "I'm paralysed/I can't talk properly/I forget most things short term", you need not get damage that advanced when boxing.

But, if you do your research you'll see that there is a statistically significant effect boxing has on IQs (look it up, and I mean look up medical literature not that one article on "Top 10 boxing myths that will surprise you" from weBenefitFromPeopleTakingUpBoxingBecauseOfOurBusiness.com). And very obviously these are longitudal studies.

Putting your head through all of that shit does have an effect in the long run.

I don't remember the figure exactly but yes, chances are you will get atleast slightly dumber because of boxing, most likely not noticeably retarded though but you can reasonably "expect" your cognitive potential does decrease (note my usage of the word expect, I mean it in statistical terms, not everyone will get dumber with boxing but the expected value, or the average you could say, of change in IQ is negative, and statistically significantly different from zero in all the studies I saw).

I researched this extensively and spoke to medical experts when my kid wanted to take up boxing, it's just not worth it, atleast if you want to get into white collar work which why wouldn't you if your young and have the option.

I'm not sure about other combat sports.

I've always wanted to get into catch wrestling but there's no schools around me. Same thing with kickboxing. So just boxing it is for me.

I'm on my 3rd day of sparring and still getting boxed the fuck up but I understand there's a huge skill gap with people who've been training since they were 14.

It definitely lights a fire in your ass to do more cardio. Not getting gassed is motivation enough.

>your young
opinion discarded

Brain damage? There goes nearly every other sport.

It's over you know it right?
And Takamura will need to stop because he's getting blind in right eye, this is what his last fight was about "weakness everyone knows about".

Geogi got tired of this all and instead of going on hiatus or passing the series to someone young he just brought it down, with no survivors.

>there are risks to becoming a god among men
>better not even try in the first place

used to in highschool, great cardio and confidence boost for social life. makes you drop weight fast as hell when you cut sugar from your meals. Had to quit it after taking a sparring too seriously against the gym owner's gayboy. Then switched to lifting

Moe vs coach

Dempussy roru

If you remember a time before boxing you’re not a boxer yet

I didn't give a shit about boxing until 3 weeks ago.

been watching old fights
I was so stoked on the Canelo vs GGG fight
Golovkin is so fuckin beta outside the ring, but he crushes everyones skulls in the ring
fucking love it
think he was robbed in the last fight
>draw. yeah right
find out a rematch is scheduled for May 5th... shit, just a few short weeks away!!

and then...

immediately found out that that bum Canelo tested positive for performance enhancing drugs
find other people accusing his team of fixing fights
Canelo vs GGG likely fixed to be a draw
then Canelo claims sterons were in his system >because "certain tacos in mexico are doped with steroids"

WHY THE FUCK DO I CARE SO MUCH ABOUT THIS BOXING DRAMA AFTER BINGE WATCHING IPPO FOR A COUPLE DAYS
SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH ME

Attached: ggg-canelo-replacement.jpg (767x431, 47K)

fuck better keep at it then

You don't die from the brain damage, unless you are very unlucky. But you do get easily tired and a slow thought process. some experience chronic moderate headache, depression, impaired short term memory, mood swings and early onset dementia.

Look up Gary Goodridge. That's your future. Have a great life!

>god among men
>Gary Goodridge

I'
Dempsooouuu roluuuuuu!

literally answered your own question

slightly better version

I don't think there's anything involving brain damage and oxygen that isn't a Kamogawa joke.

it's the gentlemanly thing to do.

fuck, I bet he has really long conversations about how to roast coffee beans properly

Ippo wanted to win. Homer didnt.

Fear of boxing is a byproduct of copious consumption of soy-based products, you fucking fag.

How the fuck did Tyson keep all that volume
while doing boxing training?

lots of calisthenics, good genes, roids.

What? Homer wanted to win, that's why he actually tried to throw a punch.

lmao no brain damage if you're good

Well shit

used to
switched to mma (pretty standard, kickboxing/muay thai & bjj - no gi mostly)

Yeah, for about a year now. Still pretty shit at it but its fun and makes me sweat, so
