Does Jow Forums like calisthenics?
Does Jow Forums like calisthenics?
considering that I can't do a single pull up, I would have to say no. Also you do not get any visual results unless you are a skinny with zero body fat.
If you're too fat to do a fucking pull-up you should re-think your opinion on calisthenics.
Damn, this guy has nearly my goal body, other than his small chest and shoulders and degenerate tattoos.
Looks achievable natty, not sure if he is though
wtf?
I have zero tattoos, and most likely will never get one (there is that 1% chance)... so... what's it like to get ink on your FREAKING NECK ?
This chump ain't the first I seen with such foolishness... but I assume places with more mass between the air and your insides feels less painful ????
>need to know
The tattoos are 30% of what will make him attractive to women. Face and body make up the rest.
you wanna know how i know you're like 35% bodyfat
I'm around 280 pounds, around 1.73 m tall and find myself disgusting, I had an injury on my left knee, I can do pretty much everything but can't kneel on that side.
I'm training to become a massage therapist and need to lower my weight drastically and manage to stay on my feet for long periods of time.
I'm too shy for a gym, and heard calisthenics requires no equipment or not too much investment to get started. What do I need to do to look like the guy in the video? Where do I start? I'm lost.
I have a fuckton of free time tho, because I only work in the morning, so if I manage to get motivated I'm going in as much as needed with this. It's hard to change my food habits tho, I don't have much spare money to buy healthy food (yeah I can't even afford fucking almonds or other nuts), I have a ton of flavored protein powder for shakes tho that was given to me as a gift and drink with frozen fruit and soy milk.
Any help appreciated, I've always been insecure about my looks, and I think I'm at the point where I need to change or I'll give up on life so I want to get serious about this.
Looks like a 56% goblin loser
those are some nicely done tattoos.
He looks rad as fuck. Like a twink Max Cady.
Does his chest really look small proportionally to him? Especially natty
from what I've seen the only equipment you really need to follow along with his workouts are some gymnastic rings, use them for dips, pullups, all that shit in his vids
He does promote weights also. Does DL in some of his videos and plates for weighted calisthenics. That and you'd need high bars and shit easily accessible.
I just like a lot of physiques and capabilites calisthenics guys have because its efficient lb for lb strength. If a gorilla roid head needed to lift himself around in many situations or climb, etc they'd be fucked
> cant even do a basic strength feat that literally some 6 years old girls doing gymnastics can
> commenting on how far body resistance can take you
I'm not even a bodyweight fitness guy but you're beyond retarded. Go back to /vg/, /x/ or something
I must have missed the vids where he uses weights but i don't doubt it. as far as needing a high bar, if you have adjustable rings wouldn't that be just the same?
I mean he's definitely not small for natty, but something seems off and not ideal.
Just knitpicking but especially in that pic, his chest looks weirdly shaped, short abdomen, short arms small shoulders, head looks disproportionally big
count your cals or do keto if you adapt well to it
start doing 16/8 intermittent fasting for satiety boost
search for "bodyweight fitness" on reddit and follow their beginner routine (Jow Forums is great but it's more for the casual gym goer)
dont be ashamed to start on the really low spectrum of resistance training (standing wall pushups, chair supported pullups, etc)
buy olympic rings, a cheap pair will cost you 30usd and last ou 10 years
no matter what, don't stop ... it's not only for health reasons but to accomplish your career goals
good luck user, hope I was of some help in between my Jow Forums trolling
(and also, don't worry about "going is as much as needed" ... beginners are often over enthusiastic but truth is that the beginner programs are usually around only 3-4 days a week because your body needs to adapt and rest is important for adaptations and repair ... the "workout grind" is a meme. be as smart about your recovery as you are with your workouts)
Just kys
calisthenics is a good indicator that you are fat, lets say its harder for you to do pullups makes you more fat.
not being able to do a single one makes you extremely fat or anorexic
Not him but I'm probably that fat. 5'7" 195 lbs. I've been doing the r/bodyweightfitness recommended routine and don't have a problem with pullups. The only parts I'm having trouble with are L sits and handstands. If you lift weights and can't do at least 10 pullups then i feel sorry for you.
youtube.com
Secret workout track, don't share
5'7 195 and not having problems with pull ups? How many in a row can you do when you're fresh? Im 5'8 140 (as of today, started lifting 6ish months ago but I've stupidly missed a number of back days) and i couldnt do more than 5 the last time I tried a few weeks ago. I couldn't imagine being 50 fucking lbs heavier with fat and not having trouble with pullups
yeah he seems to be on dat e-stats time but you are honestly a little weak for 6 months at that weight bro. you should be easily completing around 8-10 with some in the tank. do either some weightes chins or a greasing the groove program and get those pullup gains son. pullups + pulls from the floor are the basis of juicy backs
Haven't tried them in a few weeks and have missed a fair number of back days. Will try again soon, and yeah I agree with your assessment.
been there, done that. never miss back days. if you must actually miss chest days. once you get forward rolling shoulders from pushing to much without antagonizing movements it's a pain in the ass to fix it
5'7 at 140 and I can do 20 at full ROM. I also climb about 9 hours a week so I suppose that helps. Do a lot of pull ups on off days too.
>Does Jow Forums like calisthenics?
Yeah, if all you guys do is lift you have no stamina.
The tattoos are 70% of what makes him unattractive. Going just on looks.
I really like calisthenics but find it hard to progress in the areas I want doing a strictly cali routine.
Plus my gym doesn't have much space nor does it have anything to accommodate that kind of routine. I wish it did though
Why in the fuck do you need a gym to do calisthenics?
Are you retarded?
This thread really greases my groove
>Hurr i can lift 80kg half a meter off the ground EZ PZ
Neck yourselves
Because I don't really feel like being hassled at the park for climbing on the poorly built equipment meant for kids.
Plus I have limited time to workout in a week and like to fit in a few calisthenics movements with my Squats n shit
You can literally say that about every excersize. Please stop being a fat retard, especially the fat part.
this
this is why i know you're 35% body fat
Thanks for the tip my guy
what would I look like if I get as fit as him but I'm hairy as fuck?
I want to train and all but I don't want to shave, but if it's going to hide all my workout huh maybe it's not that great?
A lot of people probably think this guy is a meme but I kind of like him
this desu. gives off a good alt look that are super appealing for women
what if I want a hot shemale?
dude i hate going to the gym too, the bodyweight fitness routine on reddit is great.
you will do fine with it, add in some walking, then jogging and you will be in great shape, fast (few months to a year)
the fact that you are thinking about changing is the first step
Thanks bros, always need to start somewhere i guess.
you guys mean this guide right?
reddit.com
Yeah but I wouldn't trade it for lifting weights.
>back days
Laughed, thanks user
women love guys with these kinds of tattoos now.
I think its just a phase like everything else, so in 5 years they will be unappealing again.
what made you post capybara? like I was just thinking about them and not even 30 seconds later see that you randomly post this, it got /x/ as fuck over here.
Theres plenty of people that have a day just dedicated to back, the fuck you on about?
He's a framelet
Fat cunt
I picked up on your vibe bby
The only people that look like they lift and have a back day are on steroids
Prove me wrong by posting body
>back days
If you unironically run a bro split you are never gonna make it
Hey I'm the 5'7" 195 lbs guy. I can do 10-11 when I'm fresh. When I'm doing the recommended routine I do 3x8 pull ups. Do you lift weights at all or just calisthenics? I was doing a bro split for 6 months until I started with calisthenics. For the first two weeks I was only able to do 5 pullups at a time.
>Does Jow Forums like calisthenics?
Newfag with an interest in it. I'm skinny too, 5'8' at around 135 lbs. How long till this starts showing results? It's fun, but goddamn is it exhausting. I can do everything but pull ups right now until I buy the bar.
Are there any alternatives to pull ups? Don't really have space for a bar right now.
>neck tattoo
yeah
i watched a lot of the compilations on youtube of them doing cool looking shit and realised normies/chicks are way more impressed by some of the shit they do than some fat guy deadlifting 6 pl8
also i just thought it looked cool and wanted to be able to do it
i mix it in with my normal lifting routine
I want you to know how hard that was to read.
I almost forgot how to type correctly upon reading it.
That guy is either doing weights or is on gear if he is truly calisthenics.
What calisthenics faggot does strictly only calisthenics? The man deadlifts, benches and what not, that is for sure. At least in one of his videos he deadlifts, so he must be doing some real workouts behind the scene too.
You could get by doing rows. Some guys put a broomstick between two chairs and do rows using that.
>visual results
Anyone with visual results can do basic calisthenics with ease from dyel/ottermode/chad/befedup/prolevelbodybuilder whatever you think is aethetics well he can do a fucking pullup
rethink your life
It's not inherently better. With calisthenics you have to stay vigilant and move onto harder progressions that have a skill-based element, requiring time to learn the new movement. Lifting a bar is definitely faster for strength and size because you just add weights.
Ultimately, do whatever you enjoy that gets you exercising.
I exercise to stay healthy and do a mixture of (weighted) calisthenics, barbells for lower, and running.
>attractive to women
Well he's niche-ing hard. Not saying tatts don;t make a man more attractive but he is edging to the point of becoming a meme.
Thre are female versions ofhim to and I bet women say the same thing about them, but they are niching as well.
Also It never ceases to amaze me how stupid most tatoos look esp any quote is cringe af
>soy milk.
don't bother
The loyal king of the rats
>tattoos in general
What color are you? Lol
Wow... just wow... umm... digital blackface much? I just can't even BELIEVE someone would be so racist in 2018. Well I guess this is Drumpfh's America so racism is legal again. Can't wait for 2020 honestly when we can drive you racist hillbilly scum back into the mountains.
Yea I agree, but I can tolerate a 'good' tattoo, neck shit just makes me vomit mentally.
Get a nice tan and slightly trim it like zac efron
Its what i do
he has narrow shoulders
He does DLs and a good deal of weighted calisthenics (pretty heavy weights for some of the movements it seems.) He rarely has his legs in his videos so I feel like he doesnt train them that hard, but maybe I'm wrong. But he seems to go hard on his upper body calisthenics wise and when you can utilize movements that almost add your entire body weight and external weight as well it seems like plenty to grow. Hes been doing this shit for a long time though, probably not as efficient as other lifting
My stats after 1 month and a half in the gym.
Have only done bodyweight calisthenics for 6 months before getting a gym membership.
It works, and it works great. Anyone who says you can't grow from it doesn't know what the fuck they're talking about. Just bulk and cut like you would with weights, and progressive overload by doing harder variations.
Fuck off user. I know you're new but still. Healthy food is not expensive. You shouldn't even be looking at almonds or any type of nuts for that matter what with their crazy high fat.
Lentils, beans. Make these the staple of your diet. Canned salmon and tuna. Greek yogurt with no fat. This shit is not expensive.
And get over yourself. I know its hard, god know I was (still am?) a self conscious douche but just go to the gym and keep at it.
How was your calisthenics routine like?
I broke my spine junior year of highschool and lost a ton of weight (down to 110 lbs) as well as back strength. Basic calisthenics like pushups and pullups helped me ease back into a gym routine. I’m back to 155lbs and do about 5x10 sets of pullups before bed every night :-).
I'm 5'9 175 now, but even at 200 I could do 12 pullups.
I do weighted chinups/pullups as well.
Best was me at 180 pounds with 115 attached on me.
Jesus, how did that happen and what was the recovery process like?
Was doing some casual hiking in the Austin area and at the end of the hike I decided to plunge 40 ft into a nearby lake. Hit the water wrong, fractured and broke my spine in 2 places. Managed to swim out and drive myself home.
Worst part is, I didn’t even think my spine was broken because I figured I wouldnt have been able to swim to saftey and hoist myself out of the water. Ended up going to the hospital 8 days later and getting locked up in a backbrace immediately for about 5 months. Restricted movement, no gym, no running, nothing. Fucking sucked.
Depends entirely on your goals. If those goals include mass/aesthetics or strength, bodyweight exercises are absolutely useful but restriction of your training to only those exercises is pretty stupid
75kg + the 45 in my belt
probably your squat 5RM
skim milk white
Man that sucks. I won't be plunging into water from high places any time soon
I'm not watching a video of some bitch covered in tattoos.
I've neglected my back far too much. I was asking him because I was under the impression he was mostly BF. I assume when you mention being 200 you had been training at least for some time right?
Great contribution. You sound insecure.
1 year.
Do weighted dips (best 135 at 180 pounds) and weighted pullups. Just buy a dip belt.
Best of both worlds, weighted calthesnics.
Older photo of me, been 2 years training. I'm a bit leaner now.
you just ridiculed yourself even further
This is literally my goal body.
Ive been wanting to. I've been decent about staying consistent with my other muscle groups. I have just been a dumbass about my back.
I workout at home with fairly decent equipment (can do the big compound movements with a barbell as well as a good amount of isolation exercises with a cable machine and a good range of dumbbell weights for my current state). Just need to figure out rigging something up to do standard dips because I really want to incorporate them (i can do bench dips but want to phase them out)
Thanks for the post, always helpful to see people around your height
how has no one replied a pic of his legs. Dude has no leg gains at all
reminder that calisthenics can be weighted as opposed to bw exercises
