Is this true Jow Forums? Can you build muscle without eating excessively and without gaining lots of fat?
havent watched that specific video but the guy knows his stuff really well so i would believe it
Yes, it's possible with a solid understanding of nutrition. Bulking is frequently used as an excuse to overeat.
This guy is living proof it’s all about FACE. Amazing body but ugly as hell
It's true, but it's still impossible to really master what's needed. It's all about biochemistry at that point. Best course of action is to eat a complete diet at about 15~20% surplus and aim to gain 0.5 to 1lbs per week. You won't gain lots of fat. Positive nitrogen is nothing more than a clean bulk refined and scienced-out
He is not ugly, he is not cute, more like rough but definately type of a guy that women like.
THIS
realistically, this is the only way to go. you MUST be in a surplus calorically to gain muscle. if the surplus is too large, you will gain a disproportionate amount of fat. therefore, the surplus must be mild. I would recommend starting 10% above maintenance, or gaining roughly 0.5lbs a week. implement mini cuts as often as every 2 months to 5 months, where you eat around 500-750kcal below maintenance for 3-6 weeks.
welcome to the clean bulk done right
Why does he not have a shirt on?
I've built muscle over the past 6 weeks while simultaneously losing 11lbs of fat
Expanding because i feel nice
Macros should be heavily favoured toward carbs and protein, with a small but required amount of dietary fat. Bulking, lets say you eat 3000 kcal a day. ~200g protein, ~420 carb ~60 fat. cutting, drop the fat and the carbs, possibly up the protein to where you are losing 1.5-2lbs a week
For sources, get your protein primarily from animal sources. Carbs from oats and rice (for the sake of easy digestion) and of cource veggies (but only veggies that dont make you feel bloated, which is a personal preference thing). Fats from animals too, eggs, steak, salmon. Steak and rice is the ultimate meal, use it.
Drink at least 4L water a day
Sleep 8 hours a night, go to bed earlier
train really fucking hard
Fasting is also a rapid, highly muscle sparing way to cut. You can eat at a surplus on the days you lift and then fast a few days every now and then to shave off the extra weight gain.
How much do you eat? Also are you a beginner?
So people click on the video.
People are superficial and only want to learn from people that look good
>I put tension on muh muscle...SCIENCE!!!!!
No wonder why Jeff Cavalier is a joke among everyone else in the fitness community except for his diehard fanboys.
He's putting his money where his mouth is, though. It makes sense to take fitness advice from some one with a good body.
Stop posting.
Yes it's possible, but it's harder to do it the more advanced you are and the more average your genetics are.
Very possible in theory, rarely accomplished in practise.
It sounds nice when you hear such things, but they are even harder than the normal way of doing things, with bulking and cutting.
Recomp is only worth it in people with great genetics and/or on steroids if they're not beginners.
You're an idiot. Your muscles don't grow on the days you train, rather they catabolize then over cca 48h they overadapt to the new stimulus and repair
Fasting in the days after training is mentally retarded and you shouldn't misinform new people like this you DYEL sack of shit
clicks aside, the guy knows his stuff
agree with recomping being a big meme for 99% of people lifting
you eat a calorie surplus to gain muscle, but it should be a fairly small calorie surplus, like 0.5-1% BW gain per month
>rapid
yes
>muscle sparing
no
I'd recommend eating as often as you can to both keep stable blood sugar levels and to keep muscle protein synthesis elevated as well as satiate hunger. Place as much carbs around a workout as you can possibly afford to, it will help recovery, I absolutely guarantee it
>Amazing body
not with that frame
Stop looking for excuses not to lift faggot that guy has touched more pussy than you've been in range of
Why would you lie on the internet
can you go as low as 20% fat without affecting hormones?
I've always done 25% fat wether bulking or cutting
>. Place as much carbs around a workout as you can possibly afford to, it will help recovery, I absolutely guarantee it
so try to hit all/most of your carbs before lifting and after lifting?
I naturally do 16/8 IF because I never feel hungry in the morning and I try to lift after 1.2h post-lunch, then have a post workout meal like a shake and some fruit if im not having dinner soon
This
Fastcels need to stay in their lane, in the dyel concentration camps.
Yeah, a constant surplus even if not that big of a surplus has merit.
This.
Why does this guy never wear a shirt?
>
Cut or continue bulking on starting strength?
>banking tons of cash on his youtube and training pro athletes
>wife, kids, jesse fuck toy
he's made it
he doesn't have kids though, just a bunch of dogs
they are ugly but those are his kids, not doggos
>so try to hit all/most of your carbs before lifting and after lifting?
Pretty much, unless your carbs are over 300 or so, there are practical considerations. eating 150c in one meal can be hard for some, and may leave you bloated for your session
At least eat a large portion of your carbs around the work out, i personally lean to eating more post workout
