I can't say I enjoy "working out" all that much because there's so much boring waiting involved.

Why would you eat healthy when it doesn't taste as nice as junk food? Why would you avoid drugs when a cocaine rush is so amazing? Why would you not stab someone in the throat even though you get their wallet when they fall to the ground and die?
Lifting is a hell of a drug for depressed people. When you're down in the hole, lifting is one of the few things that can make your day worthwhile, of course this can be an issue if you develope an unhealthy relationship with exercise but hey at least it's better than alcohol.

not always. sometimes all my lifts go up and I dont even feel tired, sometimes I sleep badly and barely grind out reps of something that used to be easy
the fun part is when summer comes and i get to use my strength for festival crew work etc. id like to think women mire my body too but i havent bothered cutting this year

dude don't wait, keep your heart rate high by doing body weight exercises so when the bench or whatever is free you've already got some pre exhaustion training in so you'll be able to target the muscles easier.

This. I legitimately replaced IV speedballs with lifting. Fuck meth, that shit is the legitimate transcendental euphoria. And lifting is the only thing that comes close.
Now if only lifting could do that thing to your throat, the taste when some pure comes on. I haven't shot anything other than testosterone in 5 years and I still miss that taste. Not nearly enough to give up my godly gains. It helps to have something beautiful to lose. I am thankful.
Because human beings aren't cortexlets that just act on every impulse and instinct, we actually weigh up our decisions and think about long terms sacrifice vs benefit to decide whether something is worth doing or not. Something being fun or satisfying isn't the only appeal to things.

No, it isn't, it was but I've lost my way recently and I relapse into booze or depression. However, when I do it I feel myself being a better, healthier, happier me, so even when I fail at it I still do it. Because after I do it I think "I did that" and the desire to wallow in misery goes away bit by bit, so I can't give up.
The only thing that kept it fun was when I was in undergrad and had a big crew of gym bros to lift with. We would put on our own power meets and grill after and always push each other. Now I'm working and in grad school and everyone moved so I just go to stay healthy. Feels bad man

Yes I fucking love it, looking at the mirror and seeing increased muscles mass sure is nice. But doesn't even come close to the dopamine rush you get in your brain after a heavy set of squats.
How much can you lift? Easily 45 for me, but 60 is what I am aiming for at thr end of the week.

Fun and it teaches you a lot - met a lot of great mentors at the gym and I've been able to pass that onto to other people. All in all it makes you better physically and as a person. Great hobby

No, its really boring to me. Putting on good music and just grinding through it helps.

Kind of but the amount of time it consumes is annoying and some specific lifts like squats I find genuinely scary.
I wouldn't say it's fun, but I do get enjoyment out of it and I do look forward to my 3 workouts a week.
Looking forward to switching to an intermediate program where I can lift more times a week too

I don't know about "fun". Lifting is enjoyable but more in a satisfying kind of way, rather than a happy diversion. Some days I don't want to lift but I lift anyway. Not everything worth doing is fun all the time.

Not really. I can't really do what I want (heavy squats, deadlifts and rackpulls) due to my knee (osteoarthritis) if I don't want to completely fuck it up before I turn 30.
Faulty shoulder posture due to clavicula fracture prevents my from symmetrical pushing and pulling, but at least I am working on that at the moment.

It says 15lb on the face of the plate. Looks like 25-30lb on each side, women's bar as well, so it's like a 42-43kg power hang snatch. Definitely just another gym thot. Most consistent trainees after a month or so probably could muscle snatch that, male or female.

After a stressful day at work, nothing feels better than lifting
I have a long history of destructive behaviour before I started lifting. Exercise has replaced my drinking and binge eatting. It basically gives me the same sensation both of those things did. Do I enjoy lifting? sometimes usually im just unconsciously doing it out of habit. The main difference is I never regret it when Im done or the next day. Thats when I get enjoyment out of it.
