The only precursor that can predict muscle growth is the rate of protein synthesis compared to the rate of protein breakdown, which is why stuff like hitting puberty or injecting steroids makes your muscles bigger and stronger without even lifting. Protein synthesis can be increased by all different types of training light, medium or heavy, even physical labor can be enough of a stimulating factor despite the low loads.

It's not really better or worse than exactly what the nutrition facts says on the back, but people seem to think butter is the worst thing ever for you. I suspect a lot of this misconception comes from the idea that fats = automatically bad for you, when that really isn't true. Obviously eating a fuckton of fats is bad, but a good amount of fats are an important part of a healthy diet. So butter isn't intrinsically bad, and can be an important part of your diet, but at the same time slathering everything in butter certainly isn't good.

Alright, but that doesn't make it much different from white bread for example though. Low in nutrition and comparatively high in calories. There are better sources of fat with more nutrition to them so butter should not be your first choice. It's not bad but it's not really helping at best, unless you can't get fat from any other sources for some reason.
