Depends on if you're one of the fit ones. Firefighters have a pretty shitty job when it comes down to it. A large majority of firefighters also let themselves go after they secure their job.

In a real city, yes, but my brother is a fireman in the suburbs and 80% of his colleagues are obese. They mostly take old people to the hospital and put out fires in industrial buildings. Not alpha.

it's the same in big cities. The dirty secret is that even though they do testing, they don't really end up firing the people that fail it. Also, a large majority of women firefighters are completely unfit to do their job. I can't find the study, but there was one a few years ago that showed that over 50% of female firefighters evaluated did not meet the minimum standards.

Yes. Competition for firefighting positions in my hometown was huge. The gym I went to, Goodlife Fitness, was where all the firefighters went to work out. I'm pretty sure it's the first ,maybe only, location that needed to install biohazard sharp object disposal boxes in the bathrooms because they were all roiding and leaving used needles around the change rooms.

In LA there's at least one fire crew I deal with regularly thats made up of Alphas. Theyre all at least 6'3" and have the typical really masculine facial features as well as bodies like that of the Rock

Yeah, I work with LAFD (not as a firefighter, s&c) and there some beasts because LAFD is highly competitive. Those are generally the younger guys though. There is a large portion of LAFD that needs to be trimmed.

My father is a captain in a major US city and my older brother just got on two years ago. I know a lot of firemen, most are alpha types. Like people said, mostly medical calls, over 80% easy, and although you have to be fit to first get on and pass fitness tests, once you're on there's no guidelines to your physical health anymore and I've seen a lot of overweight older firemen as well. Overtime is where they make their money and during my dad's best years he was pulling in 150k pretax.

If you're an athlete and want to help people and can handle dead bodies it's the job for you. and social standing goes way high once you get on. I guess I should get my shit together and join them..
