Are they a meme?
Front squats
no
No, they're a real exercise that people do.
the only compound movement that gives me ab doms
It's only lean people I see do that, most people have it on their shoulders
Some dudes were doing it beside me today while I was squatting. Never seen it before, but too autismo to ask about them.
Used to do them, hurt my collarbone.
I got my front squat up to 3pl8 at 180 bw.. They're better on the knees and back, but they work your glutes and hams slightly less. If you go atg you can still get doms in your glutes and hams though
>most people have it on their shoulders
what did he mean by this?
ps, gotta be 18 to post
Resting the bar on your delts
What else could it mean?
Traps*
then why wouldn't he just say "back squat"
my wrists hurt like a motherfucker when doing these, do you get used to it eventually or am I missing something?
They work your glutes even more than the other variations
Because the English language has an array of words to describe the same thing
Yes, you get used to it. HOWEVER, it's likely your form is wrong. If you let your elbows drop it becomes much harder on your wrists, which your body is likely likely to adapt well to. I suggest checking your form and, if necessary, loosening your front-rack position to only touch the bar with two fingers.
If you look closely the bar is on his shoulders a little bit
I can only do the cross grip, because my arms don't bend that far back.
God my lower back always feels broken after these and I love how they hit quads and abs so it really sucks. Unsure what I need to improve technique wise
>lower back feels broken
Not going to make it.
A couple of weeks ago there was this same thread and I said how it hurted my wrists, anons told me to stretch a couple of days before doing them, but I don't seem to grab the bar comfortably yet.
Should I use straps or are they a death sentence for front squats?
no they're one of the best exercises in existence
