Which is the better choice? I'm looking at the nutrition facts, and they're roughly the same.
Oatmeal vs cereal?
honestly, the only reason I like oatmeal is because I can add anything I want to it and it doesn't affect the enjoyment
you can't put peanut butter in your cereal
I fucking wish I could eat nutri- grain instead of oats. Oats make me sick. I still eat them everyday though
oats win thanks to the higher fiber and lower sugar content. of course most people drown oats in brown sugar or maple syrup, but you can eat them savory while you don't have that option with cereal.
>Oats make me sick. I still eat them everyday though
>tfw im pretty sure it's the oats and peanut butter that is giving me bad gas and sometimes nasty shits
>but i like oatmeal so i suffer through it and fart in corners of work
oats. no refined sugar.
Oats is the cereal with the highest protein content. Also has beta glucans which lower LDL.
Keep in mind cereal comes with milk most likely, which can change caloreies/fat/etc.
I honestly have a hard time believing cereal is anywhere near as healthy as oatmeal, I ate it for years and it probably did shit for me.
>I'm looking at the nutrition facts, and they're roughly the same.
Just eat Frosties for breakfast then it'll probably be fine.
Oatmeal is utter fucking grool. It's disgusting and I physically can't eat it even though I know I need it. I have to blend it just to trick myself into eating this pigslop.
>Not putting in a glob of peanut butter to enjoy with your already peanut butter captain crunch
Blend one cup of oats with a banana and 2 cups of milk and that is how I can keep them down. I don't like oatmeal at all.
Cereal is candy, they have insane amounts of sugar
I eat oatmeal because you can make a rhubarb pie with no sugar and almost no flour and it tastes amazing. Oats are so fucking sweet when you bake them right, and pie for breakfast is a great motivator for getting out of bed.
objection!
Oatmeal.
Due to the fact it is cooked differently. Starches which are boiled gelatinise and are digested differently than starches which are cooked at a high heat, which "dextrinise", and basically become simple sugars.
There was a great websit called "McCarbthyism" which explained a lot of this, but here's a forum link which discusses some of the stuff from the website.

Also, for all the people here who don't like oats, try congee, which is basically rice porridge, or other grains. Whether rice, oats, or otherwise, soaking overnight and cooking for long enough really helps to "gelatinise" the starch and I find it much more digestible and filling, as well as tastier.
Why don't you just make porridge from a different grain, like rice (congee) or buckwheat or something?
How do you prepare it?
he probably eats it dry or doesn't cook it. the amount of times I've seen people here do that is absurd.
Yeah that's what I'm thinking. I always soak it overnight and then cook it slowly with lots of water. Might be "slop" as he puts it, but it's still tasty and digests well, rather than sitting like a rock in your stomach like undercooked oatmeal.
>plain oatmeal or overpriced piece of shit full of sugar
Cream of wheat
these fucking pansies >wahhh muh breakfest isn't super sweet and tasty
man up fucking plebs and down those oats or you're never going to make it
I like it with salt, cinnamon, butter (especially when out hiking) and a little sugar or honey.
>steel cut oats
>banana
>whole milk
Stick 'em in a bowl, mix 'em, microwave for a couple minutes.
It doesn't need to be any more complicated than that, ya dufus.
>spent at least an hour last week searching through all my local supermarkets to find the best cereals( i mean no added sugar, chemicals flavours, unhealthy shit)
>best i could find was muesli wich still has 15g of added sugar
How can (((they))) get away with this? , i don't want to eat 30g of sugar(sucrose) every morning.
What i wanted to ask is how much added sugar has your cereal/oats?
Just buy plain--not honey nut--Cheerios and add some fruit like berries to the bowl with your milk. I like to do a 1/2 and 1/2 split with the milk using dark chocolate almond milk and unsweetened plain almond milk. Silk branded is the best imo and their dark choco isn't sickly sweet tasting which is really nice. I guess being lactose intolerant has some benefits
Just eat Weet Bix it's the superior ceral
>6 weet bix
>Peanut Butter
>WPI
>Sliced Banana
>Almond milk
Perfection
Bruhhhhhh. This or toast. Oats are for horses.
>eating your oats
Just blend those cunts with some water or milk, and add f o u r s c o o p s and you're set
Oatmeal is for gods
Cheerios are ok
Ever seen a horse that didn't make it? I haven't.
this
>wahhh I dun wike oatmeal iss yucky
Oats reduce testosterone. Just saying. It#s the fibre in oats, btw.
Plants don't want to be eaten, who knew? Well, I did.
>That's why I only eat meat from animals that actively want to be eaten
>American reading comprehension
>American logic
>American attempt at humor
>"If X is true, the opposite must also be true."
Le 56%.
Drop a scoop of protein powder into your oats and you're set for life.
>why not both girl
I just eat my oats like cereal - bowl full, some milk, dip of honey to sweeten it. Let it sit for ~15 minutes and down it goes.
interesting , will look into
uhh, fiber retard? The reason a bowl of cereal satisfies you for 60 minutes and oats 180?
