I'm 90kg and I can only do 40kg+ weighted chinups for 1 rep

I'm 90kg and I can only do 40kg+ weighted chinups for 1 rep.

Is that DYEL tier? It feels like it. I feel like I should be able to do more after a few years lifting.

>weighted chin ups

congratulations on your autism

I hate how "bro cool dudes" like you come on here to make fun of people for doing some of the best exercises possible. But then you have nothing to shit on about some guy doing a tricep push down or preacher curl, because to you those lifts are totally worth the time investment and are so beneficial and have so much benefits, but a weighted chinup? oh no..who would want to have all that strength and power and size and carry over....wow only an autistic incel would want that! real dude bros just do preacher curls on the machine because thats the cool bro dude chad thing to do

Fuck you and fuck off Jow Forums you cunt.

If you want to be able to do more chin-ups you first have to do more chin ups.

It's less the weighted part but the fact you're trying to 1rm a bicep focused exercise. Welcome to tear city.

>chinups are a bicep focused exercise

Nah, it’s fine brah. Focus more on it and it will go up.

You’re more likely to tear a bicep on a deadlift than on a weighted chin-up. Back to r9k with you and stay there.

Dumbest post on the site.

For the last 3 months I've been doing only weighted pullups and chinups, no BW only.
Tried BW only after a tiring deadlift session the other day, did 20 in a row (could barely do 8 before). 90kg

If you cant do 30 (atleast), super strict pullups\ chinups you have 0 reason to do them weighted. Work on your technique, strength, volume and joint strength first by reaching a high max rep number. Then you go weighted. Weight with bad technique and weak joints is only gonna expose and cement those weaknesses in your movement patterns.

that's retarded if your not 5'5.

this, pullups are objectively a better exercise. If you like chinups it's likely because you're weak and fat and can't do pullups and you're probably not even doing the chins with full ROM

I'd say closer to 20, 30 is getting into real deep endurance territory

No. 30 is already a cut too short. If youwant a peak performance you go for 45. Its not only about muscles, joints and tendons of someone who can max at 20 and 30 are miles apart in quality. Let alone 40-45.

What are you even talking about braindamaged dyel, back to cep curls.

OP here

I can do sets of 15 bodyweight. I normally do 4x15.

Nice bro science you fucking retard.
Do you also increase your squat by upping your 30 RM and testing that or what

if you don't train them you won't be that good
40kg chins are nice but nothing exceptionnal

also don't switch bw for weighted or the either way around, you need both to progress

>45863500
>chinup
>bicep focused

this guy has no idea wtf he is talking about. dont do 45 pull ups. only manlets with no mass can do 45 pull ups.

can't progress above 12 reps for pullups/chinups for whatever reason, but when I go weighted I can progressively do more reps (currently 10 reps with 10kg added)

fuck you pullups give me tennis elbow

youtube.com/watch?v=boLl8rGhJvE
I agree with you but I wanted to do the devil's advocate

somewhat same for me, I've never been able to do more than 20 pullups but I rep 50kg weighted at 90kg
but my bw max doesn't better even if if add more and more weight

i've never even considered putting in kipping pull ups for explosiveness, pretty intresting desu.

kipping pull ups are a nice assistance exercise as long as you don't call them strict pullups

no one on Jow Forums can do 30 super strict pullups, you are literally retarded, this post is like those turbo autists saying
>you shouldnt use a belt on deadlifts until you rep 200kg

KYS dyel faggot

40kg chinup for 1rm is OK. It's not very good/advanced.

I'm 82kg and hit 42.5kg for 3 days ago and I just got for linear progression.

I think strong is 60kg+

That's their point you fucking retard.

You're a fucking idiot.
The only people doing weighted pullups and chinups are stupid as shit "bro cool dudes".
Their almost as dumb as the weight dip imbeciles.

Get good at the fucking basics first then do more advanced variations.

If you can't do multiple sets of multiple rep one arm chinups but are dicking around with weighted chinups then you're a faggot ego lifter.

COPE

get a load of this autistic faggot :D

this is some of the worst advice. multiple sets of one arm chinups. 100% manlet

But it is. You're basically curling your body with little help from your chest/shoulders/back.

Your lats are doing most of the lifting...

Same with cheat curls, it's hip hinge and lats as much as biceps.

Of course you would think that you weak bitch.
Go back to pretending you're strong because you can blow your joints out with weighted pullups.

>""""""""""""""""""little""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" help from your back

Doing a true one armed pull up (not grabbing your other arm) is way harder than adding weight and requires specific training with bands and assists.

t. currently on 1pl8 for 10 pull ups, 75lbs for 5 at 168lbs bodyweight and still nowhere close to a one armed pull up.

If I use the opposite hand to support my forearm I can so 7-9 one armed pull ups but a true one armed pull up puts you at way more mechanical disadvantage.

i see so many skeletor manlets doing endless sets of pull ups in my gym. i guess thats you.

yeah totally bro, that guy who has never lifted in his life can only do one 40kg weighted chinup

It's primarily a lat exercise you dumbfuck

No you don't.

>is way harder than adding weight
Yes
>and requires specific training
Yes that specific training is how you get stronger, like mindlessly slapping another 5 pounds onto the bar...except...much harder.

>with bands
No...
>and assists.
What do you mean?

Look, you can train yourself until you're strong enough, and have the joint and ligament strength to do true one arm chinups, or you can do the quick and easy thing by just slapping a weight on yourself and fuck your joints up so you can egolift.
Your choice.

I’m a 3 month noob. Is weighted chinnups/pullups on days A/B enough for biceps or should I add curls to my routine?

Height/weight?
Nobody even remotely big is doing 1 arm pull ups for sets, this is hilarious.

>slapping on weight will fuck your joints up
way to let us all know you have no fucking idea what youre talking about, please post pics you dyel calis fag
