I was way more social, more energized and more optimistic. As far as euphoria, they’re about the same level but completely different in type. With Coke and amphetamines I was super energized and confident and euphoric but with pills I was way more relaxed, content with everything, happy as a pig in shit, and euphoric as well. I don't like downers as drugs. Sure, they make you feel good, but they're not "useful". Stimulants have useful social gains, with the same euphoria. Also way less addictive.

Depressants reduce pain/anxiety both of which stimulants are pretty bad at. I would guess depressants are generally more useful for medical use and stims for recreational.

A person with insane anxiety would have more use of a depressant in a social setting than a stimulant for sure. So they are useful maybe just not for everyone or at a rave or something.
