>be fat, 6'1" and 275lbs, in October of 2017. >all my life, internet and Jow Forums says "IT'S JUST CALORIES IN < CALORIES OUT BRO" >Believe this >do 1300 calories a day >Lose 2lbs in two months >the fuck >try Keto >eat 20g of carbs a day >lose 80 fucking pounds in 4 months >muscles exposed for first time in forever >diet changed forever >feeling actually fucking great >down two sizes in shirt, 10 inches in waist
Do you do any intellectual activities? How did your performance go under keto? Before? During the "flu"?
Joshua Butler
As a Doctor I can tell you quantitatively it is calories in calories out but qualitatively it is also the type of food you are eating. Sugar is a drug that releases hormone effect. We told you Keto also....everything is not a meme here. Lets see if you understand diet is a long term lifestyle change. How long can you keep the fat off?
Caleb Morales
>flappy skin
may as well still be fat
Gabriel Perry
Post your doctorate :)
Nothing hyper intellectual, and the "flu" never hit super hard, other than some bad headaches the first two weeks or so. I work as a video editor for TV and Streaming series, so I am not very active during the day (except the two or three times a week I go to the gym, but I'm hardly Jow Forums level of gymrat).
During work, I definitely got cloudy and absent-minded when trying to focus. That went away around two weeks also, but I noticed it.
This is the hardest part. It's not too bad, but noticeable.

not relevant but einstein has long been proven wrong in that regard

I'm not going to berate you, but I imagine it has to do with your calorie calculations rather than the type of diet you are following. No matter what sort of diet comes along, one thing is always consistent, and that is energy in vs energy out, I don't care what you are eating.
Lincoln Thompson
>cico faggots >still believing human beings are simple machines and you can just figure the whole thing out with addition and subtraction.
Joseph Perry
I don't think you have to understand beyond the fundamentals of thermodynamics for body fat management, considering animals across history have worked this way for eons.
But, lets just assume that it isn't quite so simple as you state, what reasoning and study beyond "adding and subtracting" would make the majority of a difference when it comes to this predicament? It would have to be a lot stronger than a personal anecdote, especially online from someone who likely isn't qualified in this field of study. The burden of proof is on you, so if you have something incredible to share I'd much like to hear it, even though energy balance has worked great for me for many years.
Connor Murphy
Well, the symptoms of the "flu" and switch were just what i expected. Thanks, man.
Michael Morgan
>I don't think you have to understand beyond the fundamentals of thermodynamics >i literally don't understand beyond the fundamentals of thermodynamics, so i'm going to tell people that's where the issue ends elon needs to send you cunts into the sun
Grayson Ross
If you are so full of knowledge and wisdom then why not share it instead of falling back on statements like this? I'm willing to learn if you have something noteworthy.
Zachary Morales

>The burden of proof is on you >No, the thousands of people who have had no success with my method, and found incredible success with the other method, do not count, stupid goy
Lucas Bennett
This is poor bait 2/10
Ok, lets just assume that it is thousands of people, it still doesn't compare to the millions who have been doing it the old fashioned way.
I know this is Jow Forums but that doesn't mean you have to be lazy.
Jace King
>that guy that says he's eating 1300 calories but he never learned how to count
Alexander Foster
lmao @ ur life faggot
Thomas Baker
the only lazy one is you. it's like you turn your brain off before a new thought can grow inside.
a) you're trying to compare numbers between a hundred year old diet that scares soccer moms and a 2000 year old diet pushed by the mainstream literature. if we were going to compare anything, it would be percentage of success per capita, not absolute numbers.
b) there's a statistic that has gone around the nutrition community that approximately 95% of people fail their diets, and not only that, the majority of them end up heavier than they started. calorie restriction works for long term for pretty much nobody.
tldr; cico does work, and it's pretty much the worst way to get the job done. everybody is tired of hearing from you morons who think humans are closed energy systems and hormones aren't real.
Angel Harris
I don't know why you are being so volatile, but this is more substance so I can give a proper reply.
I've not referenced any particular "diet", but more of a concept. Even my own diet isn't the norm, yet I do practice the principles of energy balance via calories. I'm not even against keto, for the short term anyway. No matter what specific type of diet is followed, I say go for what works for you, but to flat out make it seem like the principles of caloric intake doesn't play the biggest role in how much body fat, and to some degree muscle you carry around seems narrow minded.
I feel like that 95% statistic is a bit high, but at the same time it wouldn't surprise me. I would not advocate that someone remain in a caloric deficit for the entirety of their lives, but in my experience it does allow for the most freedom when it comes to how people would like to customize their meals.
I like to look at it more as caloric debt, and once you get down to a healthy personally comfortable body fat percentage then you can simply switch between a surplus and a deficit for the rest of your life and maintain your body, all the while indulging every cycle.
There is a plethora of things at play when it comes to body fat composition, no doubt, but I find that out of all of those factors calories always seems to be the most consistent thing to make the biggest difference.
Charles Anderson
>do 1300 calories a day >Lose 2lbs in two months
no
more like 4 pounds a week, and you should be doing cardio
Blake Perez
Sure it's about CICO, but why ignore the effect that calorie timing can have on the "out" portion of the equation?
tldr: calorie reduction eventually causes reduction in resting metabolic rate, which is why people regain their fat, and then some, so easily. This has to be countered with exercise, but reducing calories also reduces energy available for exercise and makes it difficult to keep up.
Fasting does not cause a decrease in resting metabolic rate. I.e., the same amount of calories when practicing IF will produce a higher metabolic rate than eating those calories throughout the day.
Cico didn’t do much for me ... but going low carb recently was godly. The best part is everyone telling me how thinned out i am
Jeremiah Carter
OP I feel you man, I did CICO for about a year and a half and while I have results from them it seemed like bullshit especially when hitting my last wall. I figured fuck it and try out keto and voila, weight starts dropping off like it did when I first started cutting. I also do crossfit, another Jow Forums taboo but it sure as shit is helping me. Sometimes you have to let go of what everyone is saying here and try shit for yourself. Started at 330, now 215 and with keto + memefit the fat is flying off
Kayden Ramirez
It's not that CICO is a meme, it's that you're bad at math.
Nathaniel Davis
CICO really is a dumb machine. We aren't fucking literal machines with mechanical parts. Boiling/condensing health and well-being into simple arithmetic is nonsense.
Keto is the way to go, the amount of fat I lost on that reaffirmed that no one Jow Forums knows what they are talking about.
