I'm planning to open a cafe/restaurant which aims to provide various diet meals for people especially working out and dieting. Think about Starbucks like concept that you can grab some healthy meal and know exactly how much calories and macros in them. Do you think it is a good idea? Would you buy from such cafe?
>Would you buy from such cafe? No because the required profit margins for your business to stay open would turn me away. Why would I pay a 300% markup on the same food I'd make myself at home?

because your not home, your out in town shopping and being social.

Then I'd go somewhere with exotic food that I can't otherwise prepare myself, not go somewhere that serves the exact same food I eat every day.

bad idea
the margins for "fit" food are tight, and your competitors already have the market cornered
you also have to worry about your target demographic
gym rats already blow their money on sups and probably won't pay $12 for some shit they could get on bodybuilding.com for much less, so you need to worry about attracting a wider customer base
what can you offer that would make the soccer moms visit you instead of smoothie king, jamba juice, or starbucks

>Market it to women and fatties.
>Put sugar and butter in secondary versions of all your meals called "victory shakes", "dinner for champions", etc. Really turn their mediocrity into a celebratory event.
>Really hook them. Discounts for proof of gym attendance (get a sponsorship), free meal for dropping certain weight percentage (social media gold), victory meal gear like shirts, hats, cheap lifting straps, and lifting gloves, for free advertisement.

What about working people? You leave work at 6 and head to gym. When you leave gym you are already too tired to prepare food. I think there are lots of people like this.
Also what about average people who wants to eat healthy food?
Jaxson Sullivan
The people who are gainsaying the business idea don't work.

My local spotters closed, used to go there and get a shrimp wrap with low cal chipotle feelsbadman

this. i saw this on undercover boss. the owner was some fag who did pushups when he got frustrated

Normies dont like to eat healthy they like the idea of eating healthy. Unless your food tastes good too they wont buy it. The few Jow Forums people that actually work out and watch their intake wont bring in enough money.

it has to be ready to go though or you should make it so I can reserve the meal and pay in advance and when I come at a certain time I can just pick it up and go. I dont want to eat in your cafe, I want to go home after work

you would be better off OP of pre-packaging meals and just getting a freezer at the gym and sell them that way. all the prep is done but then the consumer heats them up at home

You are not even going to get out of the gate.
Have you done any market research at all? A Feasibility analysis of any kind? Do you know anything about the segment you are trying to target? The demo?
