What do you guys think of this bench? I'm thinking about buying it, but it has a curve for your back. I've never seen this on a bench before. Thoughts?
forgot pic woops
it looks like a piece of shit, dont waste your money
After 7 years of being a overweight, anxiety and depression plagued neet with no money, ive got myself this. I know it's shit, but im too afraid to go outside and im doing workouts for 2 weeks now and already seeing progress, i hope once i get a little bit defined muscle i am not afraid to go out anymore.
Your fear of going out has nothing to do wirh your physical appearance.
There are 0/10's that go outside everyday and some even have gfs
pic related my progress after 2 weeks, before it was way smaller. But it was pumped up. I'm still going! I train 4 times a week, doing squats, deadlifts, bench press, cable pulldown, overhead press, curls, and bent over barbell
Wish i had the money for a powerrack..but looks good!
Mindset, but good.
i know, i go out sometimes into the market to buy food. But everything else is still too fucked up in my head for me. But either way, lifting feels good
do all burgers have so much space available in their home that they can make a home gym?
Im in the UK. youre just poor lol
I still don't get it why guys literally pay for this overpriced home gym equipment junk.
I'm currently majoring from High School in engineering and already had couple seasonal jobs as a welder.
80% of the homegym shit is junk unless you are willing to spend couple grands. Cheapest 1/8 inch steel is used and dont get me started with the welds. And then they want $300-1500 for that shit.
I build my homegym myself out of old construction steel from old tear down houses(mostly double T - beams). I am certain they all could be loaded with weights of 1500lbs atleast....
What the fuck did that guy did any more threads?
If you don't happen to have an arc welder in your garage, it's easier to just drop the money on a setup.
people have squat 400+kg out of cheapo squat stands. no one gives a fuck about your 1000x soldered nippon welding
Not much room height-wise to work with, but I get shit done.
>homegym
have fun getting 0 gains you shut in neet
the fuck u plan on doin with this dungeon nigga? where the chains at? look like all u fixin to do up in here is 5x5year old rapes/week for 30 years nigga
It's in my condo's individual basement
mirin clean ass barbell
As if you're ever going to lifting the max weight the equipment can handle...
Fuck off with this shit you skelly
>not a single useful power rack shown
Land of no gains.
My God never laughed so hard..
>apprentice welder talking shit about square stock
Power racks are made from an engineered alloy. You don’t simply manufacture a power rack for mass production without approved lid testing, you dumbfuck.
1/8th in steel square stock has a load rating of like 30,000 lbs. A proper fillet weld around all four sides will retain nearly 75-100% of that load strength.
Go ahead and tells us how your apprentice level welding is far superior to the machine precision of a manufacturing company producing a product under optimal conditions.
Stop being a fuck tard.
>most people aren't going to learn welding and buy all the tools for that trade just to make home gym equipment
>cheaper to buy shit off craigslist
>cheaper to just make it like pic related
I guarantee Ive squated more in my half rack than you ever will kiddo
If only you weren’t too beta to do it in a gym.
Enjoy being a no life neet.
Ive been to normie gyms too. theyre shit
Post pics of your homegym
Yeah let me become a welder real quick to save some money on gym equipment.
Lmao kys kid.
How's this?
Holy fucking kek
looks comfy
REKT
Are those spinlock oly dumbbells? Gimme the sauce, b0ss
do you have winter where you live?
Yes. It's not particularly bad. We get maybe two big snows. It gets below freezing at night, but we don't always get significant precipitation on ground that is cool enough for it to stick.
To keep my hands warm I have a bunch of candles under a perforated bowl. I stay there in between sets
hey guys. just installed my power rack in, things got a little messy lol but its ok now
>looking for cheap incline benches with leg curl attachments
>can only find $100 that only support 250 pounds or $500 dollar ones
fuck this is getting expensive.
My favorite thing about this pic is how there are holes in the ceiling from a previous attempt, and after demolishing the ceiling a second time he still didn't leave enough room on the sides for the bar.
>bumper plates
>clutter
disgusting
r8 muh gym m8s
Or build one out of wood
whoops, old pic
nice
Clean your room
Is that JCVD and are you the user that was asking for movie recommendations the other day? White pride brother and keep on keeping on
yes man, and yes, that was me. I was watching Bloodsport. Good recommendation from that one user. It has Ogre from Revenge of the Nerds in it too. Good flick.
Dont delude yourself like this user. Working out may help, but you gotta work on your mind the most from what it sounds like.
Love the lights. Looks very comfy.
I have a question,
I mainly go to the gym to work out, but what do you guys do at your home gym?
Do you just bench press and then don't do it at the gym?
or do you just do one or two excercises at home when you don't have time to hit the gym?
or you don't go to the gym at all and just do whatever you can at home?
I do lots of heavy barbell compounds at home. I work out for about an hour five times a week. I don't go to the gym at all. Never have to wait for a bench or a squat rack. The only thing I lack is cardio equipment and dumbbells, but it's not a big deal.
i bench at home and do dumbbell stuff at home
i go to gym to squat and deadlift because my floor cant handle squat and deadlift weights and impact. also ill use bullshit machines at gym just to dick around
I go to the gym and I hate that there's only one
squat rack, is that normal in every gym? lol
the thing is that everyone needs the rack, girls want to train their butts and guys want to do chest.
Unless you go at a time where the gym has no people or something.
It's always a pain in the ass because most people don't like to share machines lol
I do everything at home. I'm doing a beginner program so I haven't yet needed machines or cables
Comfy man, I dig it
What local?
That looks really cozy
This is just sad, i dont get how you fags find humor in this guy wasting his whole life in a basement watching shit-tier movies
If you are an absolute skelly beginner and are uncomfortable going to a gym, all you need is adjustable dbs up to about 50lbs. Once you max out on flat db press, bent over db rows, and split squats, you can move into a gym or start purchasing bb equipment and a rack. The dbs should last you about 8mo to a year depending on how much effort and diet you put in.
If your starting point is a childhood and adolescence full of sports, you would probably need more weight to start out.
That is really all you will need for a long time. An adjustable bench would have been a better choice though. Or an adjustable that has a preacher curl pad or leg extension built into it.
how fucking hot is it where you live that you can keep your squatrack outside?
also why the fuck do you need 2 fans outside? No wind in your country too?
you do realize the room would look much better if you hadn't been a lazy ass and painted the walls before you moved stuff in there?
paint is cheap and judging by the pic the room isnt that big
from 4/10 sperg hideout to actual chill dude's hobby room
For the love of God, Rippetoe!
I'm a fabricator by trade and while I agree with the sentiment and make my own equipment too, I can't resist the temptation to buy cheap used things off of craigslist. I got an entire bench set with 300lbs of plate, an olympic bar and a curl bar for less than it would have cost me to just buy the plates. The cool thing about used equipment if you're a fabricator is that you can change things up and improve upon it with very little investment.
how can i convince mummy to let me spend the money on a power rack?(i pay rent, fuck off) i could fit the rack around my stationary bike and move the bike when i want to squat, but she isn't hearing any of it. debated ordering one and just being smug when she notices, because its not like im paying the fucking return postage if she wants it sent back.
looking at it makes me sweat user, will that really hold a 3-4 pl8 squat??
mirin
Love my Homegym I live in asmall town so i can just open my garage door and do Farmers/Yokewalks on the street. I only have shitty commercial gyms in my area and when i first started i paid 300euros for 200kg of wheight 80euro for a squat stance rated to 200kg and 150euro for a barbell rated to 550kg since then always i see a good deal on strengthshop or any good used stuff in my area i upgrade. (got a strengthshop wheigthlifting barbell and two olympic dumbells for 120euro). However sometimes in winter it gets pretty uncomfy so i focus more on my mma training for a few months.
Country?
H-harry P-potter
Germany
Don't need all that special bullshit, i lift in my garage even when it's 40c in australia with the door closed.
Would be nice to have some safety bars, especially when hitting 160kg. But that's about it.
2 3m lengths of 40x40x2.5 box, connected with a 1.5" bar at the top. Cement them into the ground, put a concrete slab under and weld pins on at the desired height. Pick a cheap bench up off craigslist/gumtree. Weld up a cheap weight rack trolley. So cheap and any idiot with a welder could do it.
>engineered alloy
You mean in all likelihood a commercial alloy you could just buy. They don't get their own alloy mixed you munter. Given they don't make any claims about using a special steel I'll bet it's just plain old 1040 cold rolled. But hey contact them and prove me wrong.
>1/8th in steel square stock has a load rating of like 30,000 lbs
If you were using 1 steel column to hold up 1000lbs, made of 2" square tube you could use tubing with a wall thickness as thin as 15 gauge. That's 9/128, or nearly half of 1/8".
>apprentice level welding is far superior to the machine precision of a manufacturing company producing a product under optimal conditions.
I highly doubt they have automated welding. Any idiot with a welder and a couple of days can teach themselves to weld strong enough joints. The distinction comes when it comes to running long beads, overhead welds, vertical welds, that sort. So don't try using a "your weld hurr durr" argument. If it doesn't then he deserves the outcome.
Both of you stop being fucktards.
>welder and a saw
> under £/$100
>steel is cheap af, also under 100
but hey trust some shitty wooden structure joined together by?? Simple butt joints and triangular strengtheners? No thanks.
How do you not know how to weld, are you such a cuck that iff anything breaks you have to go begging to the local workshop for them to fix it or buy a new one?
Jow Forums needs to do some /sig/ and learn to weld.
>Height is 4"2
>Think muscles will be enough
When will they learn ?!
Where my attic gym bros at
Just buy a sturdy flat bench, these ones are always flimsy and wobble around
>not squatting in the dining room
RIP
Josef Fritzl's gym
You look like you've got 50kg max available to you.
You probs put them down all delicately too because you make too much noise in the attic and your mom shouts at you.
Because I'm not some fucking bum in highschool and can afford it.
I'd be afraid of breaking through the floor.
My landlord banned me from having a cage in my lounge because it had floor boards, even when I promised to build a deadlift platform
>knowing how to weld
>bum in school
>can't weld
okay you
I was gonna set up a home gym but found a comfy gym a mile from my house that has a big pool and a sauna
>tfw swimming then hitting the sauna after gym
No better feeling
This is not real you dumb fuck
I do not understand why Americans leave their wall half build?
Summers get to 110+ with over 80% humidity for at least one week a year. Some evenings it doesn't get below 80 degrees in the summer.
Im kneeling because the mirror is too low
is that 170k? i thought max weight on a standard barbell was ~130, and those stands maybe ~130 aswell.
I paid around $100 for that bar, it's 20kg weighted. Max i tried on the bar was 180kg, and it stood the test of time.
The stands are rated for 200kg.
pls rate
Thats a nice bar, gotta get me ones of those
that bar does not weigh 20kg and neither do those plates lmao
Powerblox for like up to 50lbs is $300 and some cheap old bench from Craigslist is really all you need to get big if you're that poor
