That would always get me too carried away and distracted. Don't think about anything - when you feel little things creeping into your mind and making noise, like a song tune or a phrase or some other thing, force them out. Be sure to give it time, it might take a bit to get accustomed to it.

Cutting out vidya is only important if you play more than is reasonable. There are some advantages to playing vidya, and mental recovery is important in life.

Social media makes people who are already unhappy more unhappy. But it makes people who are happy, and popular (read have high network centrality) happier.

Smartphone literally connects you to the entire world of information. Instead of wasting energy on bunk nofap, maybe use your mental discipline on not playing stupid mobile games and browsing useless plebbits?

Pick up and start reading a nonfiction book, alongside a fiction book. Both have advantages.
Start on a MOOC. Invest money, make sure to socialize with a friend group at least three times a week. Start a creative project (writing, artwork, woodworking etc). Improve your diet. Select and train for a fitness goal. Invest more time in your SO, or if you are sad and alone go one 1 date a week, or ask out 1 girl a week.

Do one thing for another person a day, this improves social connectedness and makes you happy.

Even if you have a degree set up a backup skill, coding, personal training, knowledge of electricity, something.
