Just found out my (5ft) Olympic bar only weighs 20lbs.
So when I tell people I can overhead press one plate, am I a lying faggit?
The bar doesn't count right? I am litrially lifting a set of 45lbs plates for my ohp.

Add another 25lb
none of your lifts count
hope you haven't been lifting very long
>none of your lifts count
Nah mate they do if there's progression each week.
You sure it doesn't say 20kg? Oly is in metric.
if your bar is only 20lbs then each of your plates only counts as 20lbs, so you only ohp 40lbs total
you're pretty much going to have to start from scratch
>5ft bar
definitely not an olympic bar.
>So when I tell people I can overhead press one plate, am I a lying faggit?
yes
That’s an utter bullshit
lmao have fun not making gains
Yes, you are a lying faggit.
The international standardization for lmao1pl8 is 20kg of bar plus two plates of 20kg each.
Total weights:
1pl8 = 60kg/135lbs
2pl8 = 100kg/225lbs
3pl8 = 140kg/315lbs
4pl8 = 180kg/405lbs
This isn't true. OP is still lifting 1pl8. Not his fault his bar weighs less.
weird thing is that 225lbs is 102kg. I wonder if this means amerifags are stronger than europoors
this
WOW that pic is old
If you can't ohp 135 I'd lie too that's bitch weight.
Strange, we Eurocucks got both 25 and 20kg plates in GYM.
>pls don't bully for meme safeties
Yeah my gym in Australia has plates in both imperial and metric, I think they just bought whatever was cheap at the time
>Not his fault his bar weighs less.
/thread
This. 1pl8 refers to the plates on the bar, not the weight of the bar.
>definitely not an olympic bar.
If its 50mm diameter it's Olympic bar no matter what the overall length. Olympic means not shitty 25mm meme holes in your bitch weights.
LOL
SO WHAT EXACTLY IS A 45 LB PLATE THEN DIPSHIT?
big boy plate?
Oversized plate?
Super-duper-plate?
You've been lifting with undersized plates your entire life, and you only found out in a thread about some cunt's manlet bar.
Standard is actually 45lbs aka 20.4kg, not 20kg.
Euros usually lift less when they do eg 3 pl8 than Americans, since their 20's are 0.4kg less each.
When I weighed my 20 kg plates they were around 20.5 kg so I guess it's just because it is simpler to put "20" on the plate instead oft "20.4"
This thread is fucking retarded.
t. Fat fuck
>Total weights:
>1pl8 = 60kg/135lbs
135 pounds = 61.235 kilograms
>2pl8 = 100kg/225lbs
225 pounds = 102.0583 kilograms
>3pl8 = 140kg/315lbs
315 pounds = 142.8816 kilograms
>4pl8 = 180kg/405lbs
405 pounds = 183.7409 kilograms
>amerifags are stronger than europoors
Confirmed.
Our plates go up to 25kg though, and that's what I've been assuming to be 1pl
Weak ass murricans
>around 20.5
America plates are slightly heavier too.
>around
>up to
enter for a chance to win
The alternative being having only one type of plate? What kind of brainlet comment is that? The important thing is that here 1pl = 25kg and that euros are superior to murikans
>american education
A 45lbs plate IS a 20kg plate, you stupid motherfucker.
>lifting a set of 45lbs plates for my ohp
You mean there's more than one 45 on the bar? If there's 2 plates on the bar then you're actually OHPing 2pl8. Congrats dude.
2 plates on the bar actually makes it 3pl8 because you know, each is 45lbs aka 20kg
Wait a second, how long is a 'real' bar meant to be?
2.2m or 7.2 foot
So is the whole 1/2/3/4 thing Jow Forums spouts 1RM or working weight?
1/2/3/4 is the 1RM weight. Easily achievable for anyone training hard 1-2 years.
How the he'll don't you know the difference
So if my bar is 7foot, 2 inches short, I'm a dickhead now?
Why the fuck isn't this in the sticky?
Shouldn't all bars weight the same? Do they want n competitions, or do short arm people just fuck around with bars twice as tall as them?
There are bars for women that weigh 15kg/30lbs.
But that's not because there are any biological differences. It's for emancipation reasons.
>There are bars for women that weigh 15kg/30lbs.
Lol, OPS bar is for children.
The real problem is fat Americans measuring things by plates. How much food something holds isn't an accurate measurement please use kgs
