In high school I really looked up to JFK, I thought he was an impressive man and a good role model. In my senior year I began to learn more about the dark side of his story that everyone ignores. He didn't treat his wife as a man should, he had the same moral failings as Bill Clinton, pressured a very young girl into having sex. His family was unbelievably corrupt.
But heroes don't real, and you have to take the bad with the good. If we restored a culture that admired the strong American men of the New Frontier, NASA Astronauts, jet pilots, Green Berets and Navy SEALs, we'd be in a better place. It all really could have started at places like La Sierra High. But sometimes the weak prevail.
