>Finally benched 135lbs for 5
I think I'm gonna make it.
Finally benched 135lbs for 5
good job user i remember my first time throwing up the wagon wheels too keep going
good job man, for some reason I've been stuck at 70kg for months though.
keep going and make a thread at 3pl8
Sry to disappoint you but thats pathetic lol
Based
Keep going buddy
>stuck at a 1rm of 100kg for the last 6 months
Post bench
Well done user ! Keep going famalam.
max is 275 for 3 reps @82 kg bw and I still consider myself not strong enough
you will never be strong enough for yourself
>Sry to disappoint you but ur personal milestones aren't worth being proud of
fuck off
>finally broke my deadlift plateau of 3.5pl8 for 3 reps and got 6 reps
>Also got 4pl8 for 1
Possible reasons:
- Not eating enough calories.
- You are overtraining.
- Your routine is shit.
- You don't sleep enough.
- Not enough protein.
- You are past beginner gains, and linear progress is useless. Change to some periodization.
Nice dude are you at 1/2/3/4?
Yes except the squat because my knee is shit.
Just dislocated shoulder right when I was progressing beyond my beginner gains. Absolutely gutted
How?
How do you know when you're past noob gains and ready for an intermediate program?
I'm plateauing on my OHP (45kg) and bench (60kg) and I'm wondering if it's time to graduate from SL to 531 or if I'm jumping the gun
Lat pull down. Idk what happened. Was on a weight I had been comfortable with for a while.
Had operation mid last year to stop it from dislocating. Been very careful doing exercises to strengthen and progressing naturally.
Just make the jump as soon as you start stalling. I wasted too much time on beginner programs because I thought my numbers were too low to be considered intermediate. I stalled at around 75kg bench and 150kg deadlift. I fell for the "1/2/3/4 is intermediate" meme. It's a total waste of time. Just switch over when you stall or you'll be stuck in limbo forever.
Beginners gains start from when you first lift and last roughly 6 months from there. How far your beginner gains go depends on how much you managed to progress in that 6 months. So if you spent less time in the gym your beginner gains might not even get you to 1/2/3/4 like they would for most people.
I am overeating at 25% bf and still increasing.
>beginner gains lasts 6 months
>beginner gains will bring most people to 1/2/3/4/
stop
I agree with both of you, 135x5 is about what you'd expect an average adult who's never lifted to be capable of. Still reaching a milestone is great
Eat more, bro.
I went from 135x5 to 210x5 in the span of 4 months
Post when you at least reach 2pl8
From an Eric Helm's book:
Progressing As An Intermediate Trainee
If your progress starts to stall after implementing deloads as described above without a return to progress afterwards (assuming sleep, nutrition etc. are in check), it is time to consider changing your progression pattern to that of an intermediate trainee.
This is likely to be appropriate for people that have been lifting intelligently (which should not be taken for granted) for more than 6 months, less than two years and is marked by an inability to consistently progress on a session to session basis.
Some people can get to this stage in a matter of months if they have been using an appropriate program. some people take years of going to the gym and still don’t make it to this stage if what they have been doing is not effective.
>1/2/3/4 like they would for most people
lol
Lol at people saying noob gains bring you to 1/2/3/4
Is that OHP, /bench/squat/deadlift?
yes.
Nice job. I recently starting lifting again after living the good life in college.
135x5 was so fucking hard about 2 months ago. Last week I got 185x3 easily. Goal is 225 by end of August
Ignore this asshole
You rock!
Got stuck at 90lbs
So fuck all people on this board are yet to achieve beginner gains
>Beginners gains start when you lift and last 6 months
it's not a time limit. you don't miss out if you slack off, it just takes longer.
HURR THAT PATHETIC DURR WE ALL START FROM BENCHING 225 FOR 10 DURR LOOK HOW STRONG AND ALPHA I AM LIKE A TRUE LEADER
tested my 1rm at 95kg the other day. Going to start smolov jr for bench tomorrow.
You are right. I think at least 80% of fit is novice. But that applies to everything.
20% of Jow Forums lifts 80% weights?
underrated
awesome job OP, keep it up!
I used to get stalled around 150.
A few months back, I started using a home-gym setup I had, but I was using a 1" CAP bar. I knew it wasn't anywhere close to a standard weight, and so I wasn't counting it.
>mfw it was 15 lbs
>mfw I was doing 155 lbs of plates
>mfw I got an actual olympic bar a few weeks back, and now I'm up to 180 for benchpress.
We're all gonna make it brehs.
I was literally stuck right here for a few months. Really frustrating. I did balls to wall chest 2 times a week. Mon - all barbell / Fri - all dumbell. I pushed it really hard for about 5 weeks like this. Then I purposely took 4 days off in a row from all lifting and ate like I was going to the chair and slept as much as I could. The following week, 3pl8 up like butter.
Same here, finally got it on Friday. We’re gonna make it bro.
Did you stall at all before 275?
Post bench
I did get stuck for a bit between 225 - 250 but not as severe.
so no
