Some of those are easier than others. Some of those are harder than others. The easier options leave room to come back, the harder options leave less room to backtrack. You could even think of new ways to change your external world to reflect your internal changes; something like packing up memories of the old friends and putting them away or buying yourself some new clothes. The clothes bit actually helped me at one point in life when I was changing who I was hanging out with, it was a surprisingly positive mental boost.

If you do not do anything in your surroundings to manifest your internal changes/desire then the change was meaningless.

Boiled down: Figure out an action to do and do it in the direction you need to go. A very easy formula to apply to almost any situation.

You have the choice of following his teachings or not. Christ brought forgiveness to the more strict Law of the OT, so if you are aware of your sins and repent sincerely, you'll be forgiven. I don't know about people who don't know the teachings of Christ and other situations, I'll leave that up to God. There's a few different ways of looking at this, like hard predetermination, the idea of the elect, etc. Most Christians who believe in free will (and not all do, it's not a necessary belief at all - genetic research even seems to show that hard genetic predetermination has some truth to it) believe in "middle knowledge".

Yes God knew before he created you whether you will go to Heaven or Hell. That doesn't make Him evil. You (and all other humans, including Christians) are evil for sinning against the God that created you. God made us, but he didn't force us to sin, we did that willingly, and we can either repent and be forgiven, or continue and be punished. God is a judge and punishes evil.

You could probably pick up a free bible at a church, most churches will tend to hand out at least the New Testament for free. Bear in mind you can find literally every translation of the Bible online for free, if you want to pick up a physical copy of the entire book you might have to pay for it, like any other book it costs money to produce. KJV is great but not used by Orthodox, they have other books in scripture called the Apocrypha which are historical writings not present in standard KJV Bibles, although you can get copies of the KJV with Apocrypha.
