With decent salary of course

Attached: arn(1).jpg (600x600, 45K)

classical pianist here, play in an orchestra five nights a week, pretty high test desu, get all the mature minge i can handle

grad student

>decent salary
oh, nevermind then...

never met a classical pianist that was worth his money or fame
except glenn gould
you should stop being a classical pianist faggot

firefighter seems pretty Jow Forums

>gets payed ridiculous amounts to pay rudimentary classical staples for the silver spooned on a near nightly basis
The only true art form is marketing, friend. It'd better you to remember that.

Most of my close friends are and it's easy as fuck and they workout at the station all day.

But fuck them they're tax leeches

The pay sucks balls

So you're a performing monkey for the rich and powerful?

We all are, some just reap the dividends.

Attached: 1469663616759.jpg (708x1000, 205K)

well its pretty good for doing basically nothing

How high paying is it? Ever worry about injuring your fingers?

package handler: early morning part-time job, UPS even gives health/benefits, basically 4-5 hours of constant high intensity picking up and throwing 30-100lb boxes

Las Vegas casino security.

Stressful as fuck though, because so many people are gunning for the job, one slip up and you're done... Like, I'm talking, you showed up late one day because you got a flat tire? You're done.

starts at minimum wage, but opens up management and driver positions which are rather lucrative, drivers are 20-40$/hour, and even if you just stay a handler, you can end up making 20-30 just from experieince

3rd year of Mechanical Engineering (with aerospace specialization), can a guy /make it/ with this degree?

I have a bad feeling ill be forever lower middle class if I don't do grad school and grad school 2: years Boogaloo which would make me want to fucking die.

I'm a stone mason..

this is really interesting, why's it so competitive?

Any art dudes here?

didn't realize that was an option. My uncle was a mason, but he was made of flesh.

This highly depends on your station. My brother is a firefighter in a downtown station and works 2-3 days on, 4 days off. Throughout the summer he will be awake the entire time for those 2-3 days on calls.

I'm hard as rock, bro.

does he get paid for those 4 days off? i was planning on being a cop after i graduate college but being a firefighter sounds nicer

Mechanical Engineer, pay? not too bad, would get more if I wasn't in the services (Weapons Engineering) for Navy

Attached: dali-mattbarney.jpg (640x753, 66K)

Student nurse here. Little over a year left for my RN. I am so fucking tired of being broke.

Pipefitter in big oil. Get to visit refineries, tar sands operations, and offshore oil platforms. Lots of traveling, p comfy for me.

Unfortunately yes. You will never make it financially. But if you enjoy it, fuck it. I had a buddy who studied aerospace ant Cornell. He switched to finance. He still isn't killing it but he's making more now than what he would have made after 10 years working aero. I also know an aero engineer and it took him 30 years to make 150k. He lives well, but modestly and his wife is a goldigging piece of shit who cheats on him with asshat trust fund babies.

HVAC. The pay is top tier and if you are untrained you will look like a bitch out in the field.

Attics, 40ft ladders, forming and cutting sheet metal, carrying compressors and other heavy bullshit.

There aren't any. Anything that contributes toward your fitness will pay you terrible or be too dangerous, and anything that pays well will keep you behind a table all day.

Best thing to do is develop a skill people want to learn and then become a teacher in that skill. You can do it part time, not make a fortune, but make enough.

writing javascript fucking rocks
9+ hours everyday working on the annual website redesign of a cosmetics company or an advertising firm or something like that, purely to make it more in line with current trends in what websites should look like.

I love that it's 2018, and that half the economy is based on javascript and making websites look cool.

Nocturnist. Only problem is making it through all the schooling while keeping the gym up, but once you're there you're golden. I need to pick my internal specialization soon, any other American med bros have advice about which specialty to pick?

>Currently a CS student
Dear god I can't wait to start working in the field and get out of minimum wage.
>tfw will live frugally so I'll have stacks in savings
>tfw just gonna work out and maximize being comfy in my free time

Attached: Vqr4p1E.png (1515x663, 116K)

Starting pay for a firefighter in Seattle is 80k and full benefits. Thats pretty good if you dont have a degree.

>he fell for the CS meme

Speaking as a person who does this, good times ahead.

Glenn Gould can play Bach like nobody else. Other composers not so much

When did you meet Glenn Gould?

BTFO

LMAO, enjoy sitting behind a desk working on making some app look good to the retards who will use it for some trivial purpose having to learn new frameworks and shit every 3 months.
Software is cancer and shouldn't exist, atleast 99.99% of it. The computer industry need to die.

>Speaking as a person who does this, good times ahead.

Is cs a good career path? I'm thinking of getting into it.

where can i get sheet music online for free? srs

Anything STEM is good. Anything outside of that is probably a waste of time and money unless you have a specific way to make it work.

I was a grad student (PhD CompSci)
Fuck, I'm so glad I got a job, even if I quit 6 months from completion.
Never a week went by I didn't get depressed and think about quitting and stress about the possibility of my papers not being published or my thesis being rejected.
Not worth it bro, you'd have to pay me 8 times as much to go back

I enjoy it tho
I hope so!
lol

Attached: 1508760922751.jpg (600x600, 85K)

WRONG. You do ok more often than not, but not by long margins. I know kids who finished at the best engineering schools in the country making 40-60k. Depends on your specific field and where you live and work.

>I know kids who finished at the best engineering schools in the country making 40-60k.
That's pretty good. There are loads of people graduating who can't find jobs because they got into SJW fields.

I don't know, i'm doing ChemEng and MechEng on saturdays
but my mom wants me to enter the marines(Not american btw)

I work an entry level insurance job doing basic math and writing making 40k user.

I would be happy with that bro. As long as you're somewhat interested in your work, able to live alone and buy whatever entertainment/training equipment you want you're good.
I'll take a 40k job with low responsibility that I enjoy over a 100k job where I'm working my ass off any day.
Starting a business would be ideal of course so you can eventually have some modicum of freedom, but that's another story.

Attached: hank-hill_400x400.jpg (400x400, 20K)

>all you folk with nice paying jobs that sound nice
>mfw I was a dumb kid and dropped out of high shcool
>mfw I job hop cause I'm a temp
I just want to box and not hate my day job

Attached: 1498561066884.png (348x322, 221K)

>Starting a business would be ideal of course
Then you'd be working your ass off for 40K, at least for a few years

40-60k is good for people w/out a degree

Is there any warehouse/freight jobs in your area user? I'm sure they would be open to hiring

I'll look around, I'm fine with general labour I just don't want anymore food processing jobs. I hate the cold with a passion, fingers are always gold despite having 2 layers of cotton gloves under your rubber ones, working with slimy raw chicken, and everyone is depressed as hell with no desire to try and move up in life.
At least they're always friendly and love to talk.
A day shift doing lifting associated work in a not freezing environment would be ideal.

Attached: 1452728459063.jpg (370x528, 64K)

LMAO, enjoy baking in the sun for hours and hours on end with no lunch and if you do get lunch it's not paid for but also having to break your body just to complete tasks and get off work 2 hours after your original time.
Manual labor is cancer and shouldn't exist, atleast 99.99% of it. The slavery industry needs to die.

Pretty decent

>working for the casinos
They can fire you for no reason at all if they don't like you. It's not even worth it. You're better off becoming law enforcement if you're heading in the direction or go federal probation though youll need years of experience working for the state or county as a PO

Bepis merchandiser
$18/h+mileage+lots of ot
Last year, made $64k, pretty easy mindless job but still looking for that career

White collar jobs are honestly probably better. Running around a kitchen for 6-8 hours will tire u out and make u not wanna gym. Though when I did 2 full time kitchen jobs I was 0% bodyfat twink god olympian walker training 12-16 hours a day

Fuck this gay earth, my life is a fart. What a fucking waste of time my life has been.

Attached: tumblr_inline_nt0vm22PRG1spsojg_540.jpg (306x306, 19K)

>being this much of a fucking tumor

Firefighter pay is salary not hourly in most places

Oh yeah, fuck firefighters man. All they do is nothing, besides show up on people's worse day to make it better. You realize they don't only fight fires right? They pull people out of cars when they can't self egress, respond to medical situations, clear fallen trees out of the road, and generally just do things to make the community better. Fuck off.

monicca

gotta disagree here. got a cs degree, got a software job fucking boring as hell and its not worth living that life. Now working as a framer building houses, its hard as fuck I sweat all day and I fucking love it. anyone who sits at a desk is a person wasting away and should just kill themselves now

lol pls they don't do shit but waste my tax dollars playing hockey and changing each others computer backgrounds out of boredom

(Ch)Air Force

Its not bad. Definitely will not be staying though.

>having this much contempt for classical music

get a load of these tastelets
>implying classic concert tickets are expensive.
I saw Mozart’s Requiem for $10

Controls technician for a nuclear powerplant in north Ontario

Pretty good for being 22 and having a three year diploma from my local college. I even own my own house.

a machinist in a smaller town
>bike to work
>your own locker
>a non-nasty shower
>almost empty gym since 75% of colleagues are oldfags also its free
>taking time between ops to stretch and do simple callisthenics exercies
>manual work to strengthen forearm/wrists/grip for that dadstrength
>free coffee

living the life boys

Attached: doggo.jpg (250x236, 10K)

moron, get in a car crash

what base you at

Wildland firefighters get paid to stay fit. Get hazard pay and a shitload of overtime when they're on a fire.
Wilderness ranger for the forest service. Hike all day cut down trees with a crosscut saw and an axe.
Not to mention wilderness gains.

I really fucking hope one day you nod off at the wheel and drive off a fucking bridge. Then, when it's the fire department pulling you out of the river, reviving you and getting you to a hospital so you can survive, you can feel like your tax dollars were wasted.

what do you all think of graduating with bio and linguistics degree?

doing this shit for 10 a day at fedex. Some days its 12-14. Deal with oversized heavy shit constantly though

RN here, work at a stroke unit. Get to show off gains by lifting immobile patients, and wearing snug scrubs

Attached: kmbnurses.png (1246x695, 948K)

I sell fitness equipment

nice. this is all i want really

Warehouse Job?

160k
Lol I don’t do much just watch some high school girls flip burgers. The ones who are of age and hot fuck me trying to get a promotion. Pretty sweet gig, can’t understand why people on Jow Forums are so poorly paid to design rockets and shit lol

Legit curious if there's actually anyone here with a job as a personal trainer. Curious as to how the experience is.

Any other HVAC-monkeys here? Thinking about switching over next year around March or April. How are the hours? Is it 1 of those trades you work as a company bitch Sun-Sat? Could a 23yo with no prior experience apply for an apprenticeship?

How to get into construction? Any recommendations?
Just finished school (18) and not sure if I really want to go to uni. I just want to work, exercise and make vidya/music in my free time

nice larp faggot those news articles about in n out managers making 160k are fake and gay and so are you

Just apply to as many companies as you can. Utah is a good state for construction jobs if you're a burger

Nice user, is it salary or hourly? And how'd you get that job?

What's the use of those two combinations specifically?

I say anything in management

you can talk to bacteria

When we were Eiffel Towering your mom.

This is the lowest iq thing I've ever met. Also being a classical pianist isn't easy, you literally have to play fucking rach concertos and shit

I'm impressed that a classical pianist browses fit. Tell us more pianist user

In Canada or the states? How is salary?

Currently getting an English degree and working at my uncle's bookstore. I wouldn't mind working here forever I see qts and I get to talk to people about books I like.
You met Glenn Gould?

I'm also a real nigga

I'm doing nursing. I have chad genetics but am too autistic and lazy to do anything cool. Still at the low end but want to be in management as soon as possible.
