Yes. Most newbies can get a 3pl8 dead in 2-3months. On SS myself and 3 other friends reached 4pl8 deads in 6months of SS

on SS if youre eating right and sleeping you should definitely hit 1/2/3/4 by 6 months, and probably quicker

What the fuck? I've been going to the gym for probably 3 years and its currently my one rep max.

because it's something an average sized man can get very easily in a couple months, and something an above average sized man or someone with athletic background can pull their very first day in the gym

Yes. I was doing 3plate for reps after like 1-2 months.

Jesus fuck, what have you been doing all that time?

Agreed. Although out of the 4 of us, i was the only one to hit a 2pl8 bench and only 2 of us hit the 3pl8 squat all within 6 months.
All we ever did at the gym was 3x5 Squats/Bench/Dead - 3x per week. Start off light and increase by the smallest amount every session. Its very tedious but its the secret to strength gains. I am now benching a little over 3pl8s, squatted 4.5pl8 last week and can deadlift 5.5pl8

I guess its a mix of too much cardio and too little eating when I look back at my journey.

I never did raw strength workouts so I guess I have to go back to the beginning. I appreciate the advice.

>too much cardio
you realize this is just a meme unless you're competing at an international level, right?
>too little even
even if you're on maintenance you should make some strength gains after time

Well I guess I just simply ignored progressive overload. I also had periods when I didn't include deadlifting in my programs.

Absolute bullshit. Average man today is 130-160 lbs and can only lift half their body weight. 3pl8 is beyond average, and half of Jow Forums can't bench 3pl8 either

keep in mind, that the four of us weighed 75kg/85kg/90kg/110kg. Those strength expectations wouldnt apply to your average joe below 75kg i think.

Yeah I'm currently 70kg and 3 years ago I weighed 60kg so

with those bodyweight ranges, yes it would be harder to deadlift 3pl8. But not everyone is built like a twink. Tall/thicc bois will hit a 3pl8 dead very quickly, they will probably already have the strength but lack the neurological requirements.

I have a friend who weighs 71kg but started at 66kg. He has been training for almost two years now and can bench 82.5kgx5 squat 120kgx 6-8 deadlift 130kgx 6-8. He read the entire starting strength book and did SS for his first 6months, then he did Madcow 5x5 for 3months or so, then Candito LP for a couple of months and has spent the last few months doing Hepburn. He is very anal about form and reads a lot into strength training and powerlifting

>lack the neurological requirements
What did he mean by this?

Beginners have the muscle to move 3pl8 in many cases but are literally unable to recruit all of their muscle fibers at once without practice. This is called cns gains.

Weak if you’re over 180lbs

Most noob gains actually come from learning how to properly use your muscles, rather than from putting on tons of muscle instantly.
