The irony is that, despite what people claimed, kojima did succeed in showing the descent and downfall of Big Boss, only problem is it happens offscreen. Big Boss is a big ass cowardly bitch who fucked Venom over so hard. Meanwhile Venom was just based as fuck. So chad that he didn't even mind all the crazy shit that happened to him just because Big Boss wet his diaper at the thought of having to deal with some mean bad guy who collected his turds during the virtuous mission.

My issue is that less is more in this instance. MGS3 was all we needed to get an idea of what caused BB's start of darkness, going from a bright upstart CIA operative to world-class villain. We didn't NEED to see every little painstaking thing he did between MGS3 and MG1. It should've just been left up to imagination, and the stories of PW and V suffer as a result, because we already know the bookends of the story and just filling in the gap isn't that interesting.
