Read all of these, they might answer some other questions you may want to ask.
>Can I fast if I have ___?
See your doctor before fasting if you:
>Have any sort of chronic illness
Don’t fast if you:
>Have type 1 diabetes
>Are malnourished/severely underweight
>Are pregnant
>Are breastfeeding
>How do I safely do an extended fast (approx. 4-5+ days)

Old snake juice recipe (youtu.be/2vz_U8kxDlg)
>2000mg of sodium (preferably Himalayan Pink Salt) max
>4700mg of saltless potassium max
Mix these in a liter of water and sip it throughout the day. The apple cider vinegar and lemon are optional.
You can also do this if you feel lightheaded, weak, dizzy, nauseous, etc., on shorter water fasts. Don’t do this while intermittent fasting.
>Won’t I go into starvation mode?
No. It only occurs at extremely low body fat (8-10%).
>Will (something with calories) break my fast?
Yes.
>Can I drink coffee, tea, and diet soda? Or anything with artificial sweeteners?
Artificial sweeteners and diet soda are bad for you and may fuck up your fast. Zero calorie black coffee and tea are generally considered to be fine.
>Do I need a multivitamin?
Not really, since the fat you are burning contains most of the vitamins you need.

what's a proper omad to have? any examples?

>Just started Intermittent Fasting last week
>Also eating under 500 calories a day
dangerous? I never get hunger pains and have gone a week without eating before.

i would honestly do longer fasts with bigger refeeds but that's just me mate. If it works it works

I'm 72 hours into a dry fast and only last 10lbs.
Da fuck

family and friends found out about my fast and are forcing me to eat, what do? feels awful

Attached: 1531758990482.jpg (679x679, 74K)

Are you allowed to take diurex or any water retention pills while fasting? What about advil?

>forcing

unless they've got you strapped down and are literally jamming food down your throat you're not being forced

learn to say no

Meat
Veggies
Fruit
Protein shake

FUCK!

You're better off eating around maintenance calories and doing water fasts in between. You'll lose weight on 500 cal a day, but it'll cost you in the long run.

>72 hours
>10lbs
>only

Just tell them you're being conscious of your eating habits and not snacking, then tell them to fuck off

Listen to this anonAuchwitz diets are not good, your body doesn't get a chance to get into ketosis which spares your muscle and you will waste away

I'm on day three of my fast and my legs are really sore if been getting my sodium intake any ideas as to why my legs are sore

On the home stretch now fastbros. 6 months OMAW.

230lbs down to 170lbs with 10lbs more to go.

34% bf down to 10% with 2% more to go.

No loose skin thankfully, but progress is agonisingly slow now. Should I intermittent dry fast (1 day on, 1 day off, repeat) to close the gap?

Attached: Screenshot_20180716-213334_MyFitnessPal.jpg (1080x1106, 120K)

I would desu
Great stuff

6 months for 60 lbs?

Wouldnt that have been doable with regular CR?

Why did it take so long?

Will putting sunscreen or any sort of creams on my body fuck with my dryfast considering they get absorbed into the body?

I’m down 25 in a month

>6 months OMAW

you must be a changed man, that sounds like a huge mentality shift

Whats the best regimine for eating and fasting for someone who is tall and thin, although slight belly fat, but I want to build muscle mass but also fast for health and loss of belly fat?

I'm stuck on how to create a program

Just start with 16 hours of consecutive not eating and a 8 hour window to eat below matinence calories. Depending on your body fat you might benefit from using yohimbine hcl

>en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minnesota_Starvation_Experiment

Their diet was terrible. Their meals were composed of foods that were expected to typify the diets of people in Europe during the latter stages of the war: potatoes, rutabagas, turnips, bread and macaroni.

Please respond, I have a really bad headache right now

Yeah I've done that pretty easily. I'm wondering though if i will get the health benefits of fasting though?

For the other stuff you have to fast like 20 hours daily at least. It’s not hard especially if you’ve fasted before

do not. Have a gram of salt in a glass of water and keep sipping that.

First of all, is this your first time keto/omad/fasting?

Can I gain muscle mass while doing that? I know i can fast for 20 hours each day. Also, what do I eat in that time?

>tfw refeed after a 36 hour fast

Attached: refeed day.webm (500x280, 2.93M)

Best to focus on losing that body fat around your belly and back. I forgot the terminology but one of the receptors that keep fat in you is in high number in those areas and theses are like the secondary receptors that only go off to release fat after the easy to remove fat is used.

But can I lose that fat while also gaining muscles at the same time. Maybe a 20:4 diet but in those 4 hours I eat a low carb diet but get my veggies, meat, fats, and low carbs?

>OMAW

One meal a week? Jesus.

You might not gain muscle but by all means workout as to keep your muscles active.

Help brahs can I lose about 8 pounds in 4 days by dry fasting?

>Be 21 year old neet
>Going to school next month
>287lbs, 5'6 M
>Keep being a fat ass
>Trying to fast for a month to lose a little weight before I can buy new clothes, look decent for school
>Did TDEE
>If I fasted for ~7 months I could be at my goal weight of ~120-140

I can do this right, without any problems besides mental things ? Also how much water are you guys drinking ? I hardly go through ~64oz/day.

Help

I messed up. Its only 4 months. I was doing CR up to the end of March and you can see that sharp drop where the fasting begins after that.

To your question though, unhealthy, stodgy refeeds. Binge eating on them when the inner fatty is released from his cage... and lots of carbs which breaks keto and forces you to restart each cycle from scratch. You can see a lot of fluctuations in there as a result.

Pretty confident that you could do 60lbs over 3 months with strict discipline assuming you had that much to lose.

Are you getting potassium and magnesium as well as sodium?

Watch Coles video that covers Snake Juice 2.0.

Epsom salts, nosalt, bicarbonate and himalayan pink salt.

7 months of strict water fasting? Doesn't sound sustainable. Maybe try OMAD or IF, 1000 calories a day. You can add in weeks of water fasting but I don't think it's mentally possible to do it for 7 months straight

this hippie bastard did a 28 day fast with distilled water and nothing else

is snake juice a meme?

Snake juice is for working out while fasting for electrolytes. This guy wasn't working out

>Tim Shieff
damn I used to watch him back in like 2009 when parkour was a thing. He looks sickly now, I knew he went vegan but he started doing crazy shit like drinking his piss and saying the earth is flat. He must have lost a lot of muscle mass from the fast because he never had that much bodyfat to begin with

does he say that in the vid? He was fairly active doing marathons and shit, haven't watched his vids recently though

Yeah, I just started today actually. I'm going to try and water fast until Friday, but I'll see how far I can go.

I did parkour with him a few times in my hometown. He was an absolute unit. Now he's a skinny vegan flat earther.

Attached: 1392216398467.png (1035x720, 125K)

fuck man this is so sad, he's legitimately mentally ill

Attached: 1516441277380.png (644x361, 266K)

Never go full vegan.

Attached: download (1).jpg (225x225, 6K)

compare that to January, 40 lbs of muscles just evaporated. Veganism is one thing, fasting for 5 weeks when you have no fat to begin with is another.

alright maybe he's not the best source of information

+some fermented stuff would be nice for digestion - sauerkraut (preferably not from packet), or yoghurt (preferably not pasteurized), pickles, or something.

What's a good meal to eat after a fast?

Can i still lose weight and build muscle while eating 1500 calories in one meal and fasting the rest of the day?

How fat are you? I bet you could go 72hours consistently at least.

There was a dude here who fasted for a over month straightーthough I don’t know if such a regimen is suitable for the guy you’re replying to since i don’t know his full situation.

My advice is start with small fasts, then after every refeed extend the fast a bit longer than the last or as long as you feel is necessary in reference to your daily lifeーjust to ease into the fasting lifestyle; after that you can decide if you wanna start going for REALLY long fasts. You’re also going to have to experiment a bit with how much water and salts you need to fit your activity levels, but the recipes in the OP is a good starting point to adjust from.

i'm 5'11, and I've been floating around the 195Ib range. I've been eating a lot, but I've also been lifting weights at home and doing other exercises. I feel like I have gained some mass, but I must have gained fat too, because about 3 weeks ago I was 180Ibs.

I'm 5'11" as well. You could fucking snake juice fast for a fucking week and you'd be fine. I went from 190~ to 177 in my first week of fast + 2 days dry fasting, all while doing some workouts

Does having a black coffee count as breaking the fast?

A hotly debated topic

does simply doing intermittent fasting make it more likely to lose weight? if i cut it down to 6:18 would i lose more? i can't find a good source on the benefits but im giving it a try

u should do the 24:.05 diet u try to not eat for five minutes its really hard at first but it gets easier

How long do I have to fast before "autophagy" occurs?

Attached: wewlad.jpg (1365x2048, 353K)

Is there tea or any alternative that is definitely ok?

I've been doing IF eating between 12pm and 7pm.
If I want to start going OMAD, is there anything I need to know. Do i need any kind of electrolytes or is that only for longer fasts?

That's for longer fasts. Literally anyone can fast, so you should try 48 hours to see if you can.

You'll never get a straight answer. I think they're fine, but some believe that they still trigger an insulin response.

I'm pretty low body fat, just have very stubborn lower belly fat. Was planning to do OMAD for like 2 weeks.
Tell me more about a 48 hours fast?
I can drink water yeah? And how should I break my fast? And do I need potassium or salt or anything?

4 days min

Also I have one more stupid question. Instead of going straight for OMAD, would fasting and eating between 4pm and 8pm be alright?
Changing from 3 meals to 2.

More than 48 hours and you'll get over the hunger meme and you'll pretty great.

How much muscle is lost doing intermittent fasting compared to slow cutting?

Virtually no difference. Might even lose less if you incorporate fasted compound weight lifting due to increased HGH production.

Yohimbine hcl, I’m telling y’all, that shit helps with that stubborn belly fat.

whats with the snarky attitude big guy, its just eating less i hope i didnt offend you with my babby tier fasting

>almost 21 hours into first water fast
>Have a big headache but can't take any painkillers because of said fast
>starting to feel restless
help

Fast until you are not a fatass
You can speed up the process by lifting or cardio

Fasting has realized how shit my life is. I could make it through the day with videogames and food but not videogames alone. Really have never enjoyed much else in life though. Still fat a month in and I realize that I can't undo 10 years of bad mistakes in a month but I just want to be good looking sooner rather than later and being this impatient is just another reason to hate myself. Obviously no gf but decent job so things could be worse I guess.

so...basically go all in if you're going to fast? either nothing or at only a little under maint?

How safe is a 7 day water only fast? I am 15 lbs overweight.

>only 15lbs overweight
literally just eat a little less each day and you'll lose that 15 in like 1 month

basically yeah, long periods of severe calorie restriction is really bad but 0 calories is good. Small deficit also has the same effect long term where your metabolism will slow down eventually adjusting to your normal daily intake forcing you to reduce calories even further. This is why fasting is so pushed here because your metabolism actually speeds up and fixes problems with insulin resistance which leads to you storing more fat and wanting to eat more.

You probably won't die but will feel awful after a few days. Drink the fucking snake juice. Man up, when you're electrolyte deficient it starts tasting pretty good.

see

Of actual fat? no, unless you burn about 4000kcals exercising everyday in which case you will probably die of dehydration. Of fat and water? 100% yes.

>eat a little less and you can lose 4 lbs a week bro!

Actually mentally deficient.

Will jacking off to Gordan Ramsey break my fast?

Are progress pics/ asking for advice okay in here? I have been doing IF for around 2 months, and would like to post a picture to ask how much longer I should fast for, or if I should switch to OMAD or longer fasts. Cheers

Could be sugar withdrawal.

kill them

Holy shit, how fucking pathetic do you hase to be to ask for permission on a Rhodesian cave painting bulletin board, just fuck off to tumblr already.

Didn't want to shit up the /fast/ general

I was doing OMAD everyday without fail and working out 5 days a week to slim down until I started feeling weak and getting weird headaches and a slightly feverish feeling in my forehead. Was it a salt deficiency? I thought only people doing long fasts needed a bunch of salt. Ive stopped working out and started taking in more salt and I feel fine now. I also stopped OMAD for the time being. Im assuming the Texas heat along with the fasted cardio kinda started fucking me up. Does it make sense to drink snake juice or should I just eat more salt with my one meal?

Question about snake juice. I drink 4-5 cups of coffee a day, should I drink the new or old snake juice recipe or does it not matter? Also I only have a 1 litre bottle. Can I halve the ingredients and make 1l of it, then make another after I finish it?

Fuck I failed a fast for the 3rd time now in a week just because I was bored.
I'm like 145lbs 5'8" and want to fast until aushwitz mode so I can bulk with cole's lean muscle system (+health benefits of course).
I did a 72h dry fast once but now I fail to pass even 24h

Attached: 8gxmJwKMADc.jpg (640x626, 53K)

it's probably hard because you're not overweight
unless you have zero muscle mass whatsoever but that would make it easier

Tim used to be huge. Now he's a meme

what's the alternative for snake juice? I can't find potassium chloride in my country

Try checking ebay, I got it from an international seller.

got it thanks, i'm currently on my first week of IF. i really want to try longer fast but i really need to make snake juice first.

Omad + keto. 5 rashers , cooked in butter ,2 eggs , 4 tbs of full fat Greek youghurt, lettuce , with olives and feta cheese
