Rotating cardio between jog, sprints, swimming, biking, stairs, and battle rope or jumping jacks better.

This. I enjoy running more than any other excercise, but you're doing more harm than good running every day unless you're training for endurance events. Even then I'd imagine you're better off mixing it up.

Can OP give credence to the whole notion of running everyday and the benefits that are derived from it? I want to augment my running endurance and speed but since I go to the gym it feels like I might lower my threshold to overtrain.

Also, is running with a weight vest rational?

I run everyday. 90 minutes thereabouts.

Because the vast majority of training programs (for those of us not elite athletes and have jobs which prevent us from solely dedicating ourselves to running) do not recommend that - they include things called 'rest days' which are beneficial to the training program and progression.

i work out 2 times and run 2 times a week, on diffrent days

Got off my ass and ran a mile today, 9:45 so not that fast but not bad imho for taking a year off (minus walking and elliptical) from a back injury. Im sure i can get it down to 7 mins in a while. Distance was always my crux but two years ago infinished a small triathlon.. never thought id do that.

The only time I halfway enjoy running is in winter. I'll run 2km to the gym in -20 weather while listening to German marching music and imagining how stalingrad would have been different if the German soldiers had my integrity.

I like to run 5k to the local swimming pool, and then swim 1k. Just need to add some cycling and I'd be a triathlete. Only started getting fit 9 months ago after years of drink and drugs, it's my new addiction. Feels better.

And lifting isn't? At least when you run there's a sense of movement, of getting from point A to point B. I understand how you'd find it boring if you're running long distances of a treadmill, though. Fuck that shit and go outside.

You literally shouldn't be running more than 5 days a week unless you wanna destroy your knees. If you must do cardio everyday I suggest cycling, jumping rope, or better yet get on an elliptical

Top kek. Running is a shit tier form of cardio anyways. There is a reason why boxers don't run who focus primarily on cardio. It sucks to run quite frankly and sprinting, speedbag, jump roping, etc all provide better cardiovascular benefits while not catabolizing muscles nor causing joint pain.

No. It isn't. An hour worth of a work out could be 5 exercises or 20 depending on rep range, compounds you are focusing on, what lifts you're trying to improve, imbalances etc. During that time I can multi task or prep other lifts and even the recovery time varies depending on how heavy you lift, if you're doing a circuit workout, or what your goal is.

If you're doing it right the amount of variation is much larger than distance, time, intensity while doing the same thing for miles. Personally I'd rather do HITT than do distance running since it kind of mimics the rest/active cycle of lifting. Even if all things were the same I still wouldn't enjoy running as much as lifting or HITT, the continuous nature rubs me the wrong way.

Running is the most natural action a human can do. We literally evolved around it. If running hurts or makes you uncomfortable to the point where you have eliminated it from your lifestyle, you have objectively failed as a human being.
