Muscular development? Theoretically there's no difference, muscle growth occurs regardless of load applied, all that matters is rate of effort and muscular fatigue. In fact even working with as low as 20% of 1RM grants as much muscle growth as training with 80% of 1RM.

Yeah. The tricks you can do if you have the strength are pretty fucking legit. They teach you a lot about body awareness. The people who trash calisthenics are either dyel or too fat to do them properly. Look at guys like jujimufu. Over 200lbs and they still use gymnastics rings, do jump squats, flips etc.

those are the basics that literally everyone should do though, when i think about calisthenics i think about reverse planche, handstand pushups, one arm pullups
