Make sure to do it light on the oil, using an aluminum or other non-stick pan so it doesnt stick to it and burn. It doesn't change the taste must and makes a yuge difference if you make big batches.

Why can’t you count calories while traveling? It’s really not hard to look something up before you stuff your face, just always overestimate the calories if you’re unsure of the serving size/weight. That way you’ll still be under your maintenance even if you relax on what foods you’re eating.

I went batshit crazy and ate like a madman on a two week trip just a week ago. Gained a couple of kilos, but i was prepared for it, and honestly worth it. But be prepared, you might take home some extra luggage if you don’t mind your eating.

I did it for about 16 days. lost about 12 lbs according to scale. Wanted to lose some before a family reunion. And I found it easy. I got to eat a great big dinner (I was eating all 1300 calories in one meal, so like 1/47 fasting) -- and on my off days I wasn't worried about "oh, what really low cal can I eat now?" "Do I need a low cal snack? What can I eat?" Just focus on doing stuff, knowing that the next day I will have a big meal.

I'm proof it's not. Down 70 lbs and all I did was start counting calories. The exercise i do helped but I know it's not the primary cause.
By necessity from counting calories I started eating cleaner simply so I could enjoy more food during the day.
As a side effect I've expanded my palate to things I never wanted to eat before and have found ways to make them very palatable.

Cico works you just got to make it livable and keep at it. I've plateaued at 174 for about 6 months now but I'm pretty sure it's my fault as I've been slacking like all hell and need to re adjust my intake.

You don't know how many calories you're eating. You don't know what your maintenance is. You can only very roughly estimate. Labeled calories can and do vary wildly from reality. Maintenance is even more unknowable and constantly varies with your activity, hormones and insulin levels. Your diet itself will affect your TDEE.

If you've ever actually lost any weight you'll know that the weight doesn't come off smoothly and predictibly like you'd expect if CICO worked, it comes off in spurts and plateaus and rarely at the same rate your CICO calculations would predict.

if you do a meal you're doing intermittent fasting, see if that works for you. As long as you have a deficit you should lose weight

I'm never going to make it with this goddamn family around. We went out for my stepsister's birthday, and I checked the menu ahead of time and planned my order: a 430 cal entree and a 140 cal glass of wine. I only had eaten 290 cal today, so I was on track for a 860 cal intake , which would have been my lowest in months. Well they order appetisers, whatever, I'll just pass.
They put appetisers on my plate without asking. Autism.exe kicks in and I feel obligated now that its on my plate. They hit me with another round. Again, I reluctantly eat. Main course comes along, I have a reasonable portion of healthy food, everyone else has a disgustingly huge pile of fatty meat and starches.
THEY START PILING THEIR FOOD ON MY FUCKING PLATE. Grandma can't finish her wine? Drink it user!
