/hgmr/ reporting in. Got a barebones setup with a cage, bar, plates, and an adjustable bench. Also got one of those hard rubber mats so I don't shrek my foundation. I also just use shitty old rope belts tied together as a weight harness for weighted pullups. Oh, and a foam roller and cheap ab wheel.

Setup has been stable for a couple years now. Gonna buy a resistance band so I can do some makeshift facepulls too.

Yeah, OHP can sometimes be a problem in my basement. Luckily it's not a finished ceiling and I have the setup place right between rafters in order to maximize the vertical space, so I can just barely lock out without smacking the wood beams. I'm also a manlet, so there's that.Otherwise I'd just do cleaned OHP in the back yard, although carrying the bar up and back would be a pain in the ass.

Yeah it's cold in winter and hot in summer, having 8 meter ceilings on a concrete box will do that.

muh garage gym. Ceiling is high enough I can do OHP as long as I only put on 10lb plates. Have to bend my knees to do pullups but still works. Not pictured is a dip station, adjustable dumbells, various barbells.

Idk about you, but I love sweating bullet in my garage gym. Lifting in 105 heat in the garage, then a nice 70 degree shower.

I have an all-in-1 smith machine / barbell with safety hooks, adjustable bench with 9 different angles, and screw-tight dumbbells. im happy with it. I even added a cable pulldown station but the cable warped over time and I dont know how to get around that problem. thicker cable maybe?

It's probably too thick if anything, you need something flexible

typically seated OHP starts with the deccentric, and standing OHP starts with the concentric portion of the lift. Being at a dead stop makes standing OHP more difficult

the cable started staying bent where the majority of the bending took place. at full extension and at rest.

so when i did a rep it would shudder as I went through the full range.

i think part of the problem was i used small rollers shitty which put a lot of stress on the cable.

It was in the middle of winter though, I'd be working out at like 10pm because of my schedule, and it was really fucking cold. Colder than usual over there, unluckily enough. I'd lift wearing two sweatshirts and with a portable kerosene heater in front of me and I'd spend the rests between sets with my hands next to the orange glow
