Im doing shitty pump chasing brosplits over 1,5 year and i want to switch to powerlifting/strenght traning.

5'9''/175cm
148lbs/67,5kg

5RM
OHP:110lbs/50kg
Bench:165lbs/75kg
Deadlift:265lbs/120kg
I neglect squats so they're ridiciously low like 150lbs/68kg

is SS or SL best way to start powerlifting for me ? i heard they designed for newbie lifters and i think i missed my novice gains widow.

What should i do ? Which program should i follow ?

Read SS five times back to back, do everything it says GOMAD included, start low. Unless you're the ultimate GDE you should have plenty of noob gains in the tank.

Your "newbie gains window" comes back every time you're under-trained.

SS for a couple weeks, deload work sets 5%, 4-day TM or Madcow for a few months, then spend the rest of your life chasing intermediate programs.

Come back after a year of not neglecting squats

The best routine for you is adding 20kg of bodyweight unironically.

Not him but I have a squatting related question. Every time I squat either with wide or narrow stance, feet straight or angled, my hips always hurt.
Thankfully it doesn't happen with box squats so I can still do some squatting, but do you have any idea what the issue might be?

You're probably relaxing at the bottom do pause squats focus on keeping tightness in the hole.

how many failed training cycles before youre beating a dead horse with a program?

>hip pain
youre trying to stay too upright

Two with proper sleep, diet and at the very least 100kcal surplus a day.

1.

Unless it was just a fluke day where your dick fell off and ended up in the garbage disposal.

If you fail a training cycle, you should be deloading the failed lift and adjusting your programming.

Hips is a pretty broad statement

Go and see a good osteo and they will find where the issue is stemming from

Could be something in the hip itself, could be the knee, could be the ankle, just saying part of you hurts means absolutely nothing

Ignore though, would probably make the issue worse due to more time in the hole, i have hypermobile SI joints so cant stay stable in the hole so i have to get out of the bottom asap

>i have hypermobile SI joints so cant stay stable in the hole so i have to get out of the bottom asap
I will extend my prescription to you as well then. If you're whacking your hips/sacrum (buttwink) forward at the bottom cease this immediately even if it feels easier. Always keep tension in the muscles.

Ive run cuckols DL multiple times. like 2/3 cycles work well

I think its because Ive mashed it together with canditos without taking account how they affect eachother. both programs work well independently for me tho

Wrong direction mate

>Basic bitch whiskey
>Pointing the silver revolver at his idiot buddy's face

I'm beginning to think all the best parts of SS and PP are from Kilgore and Baker.

Go suck a dick. Wild Turkey is fine you benchlet homo.

>WAWTT
Second week back squatting after 3 months not being under a bar due to VL tear & ACL damage

Squat 245kgx1
Belt squat 180kg 4x8
Seated GM 140kg 4x8
GHR 1x40

Cut session short to handle gymbro working upto 375kg squat

Baker's HLM stuff is great.

Im on SS and I keep stalling on OHP.
Cant quite seem to make the jump from 45kg to 47.5 kg as im missing reps, and not sure how to proceed.
Making a smaller jump could work but the lightest plates at my gym are 1.25kg.

Any advice appreciated
I feel like making a smaller jump

>Wild Turkey is fine

If you want to spend $40 on $20 whiskey, Wild Turkey is great. If you want to spend money on whiskey that is worth spending money on, get Woodford Reserve, or even Maker's Mark 46.

Ignore the bottom line

>WAWTT
Bench Press
5@195
5@225
3x5@255

Incline (high)
3x10@140

BB Rows x60
Tricep Pullovers x50
Curls x50

>$40 on $20
Wild Turkey is 20-25.

Woodford is good, but not good enough to be a snob about.

>makers mark
A womans bourbon. Might as well just get 4 roses for $15 less.

Learn how to do leanback press or push press and start all over.

why

Because it's less frustrating and more educational than deloading over and over again, and serves the same purpose.

all alcohol tastes like fucking garbage you hipster faggots. its for getting drunk, not appreciating its disgusting flavour

Try rootbeer mixed with jager, then come back here when you turn 18

do you have a boyfriend? show us your cute butt (if 18)

Belgium beer taste like sour bread and I like that

t.hipsters

Vodka and gin all taste similar. Rum, tequila, and especially whiskey have much more diverse flavor profiles.

Hipsters merely adopted the booze. I was born in it. Molded by it.

Feigenbaum would recommend doing 3x5 at 45kg then 5x5 at 45kg then 3x5 at 47.5kg then 5x5 at 47.5kg and continue that rep increase.

vodka and gin taste the same? You dumb?

No way they do. Vodka tastes like lighter fluid/paint thinner/very harsh for cheap ones, more expensive ones are smoother. Gin tastes like juniper berries/ how a christmas tree would.

Tequila and whiskey have different tastes as well. Stop lurking and drink moar

Different vodkas taste mostly the same except for smoothness. Different Gins tastes most of the same with some small differences in dryness, smoothness, and maybe some of the Juniper.

Two different whiskeys can taste like two completely different Liquors. Are you retarded?

Thanks for this

For those who did SS, what were your stats when you decided to move on from the program?

Maker's Mark is shit. Buffalo Trace/Angel's Envy are goat.

>Buffalo Trace
High IQ, good taste

what is the current meme routine?

Attached: eobqh00hbl811.jpg (2048x1536, 352K)

The bridge, because everyone is a forever beginner here.

75kg OHP 100kg bench 160kg squat 180kg DL

Non ironically do incline press.

RPE memes and 5th Set

I like buffalo but its the cheapo option in wetherspoons over here (a massive pub chain thats cheaper than everywhere else)

I generally pick up a different brand of bourbon every time i finish a bottle, just finished a bottle of buffalo trace, last couple of bottles were makers mark and bullit

I unironically like jack daniels taste wise, i just dont like your typical bro JD drinker

I currently have a bottle of jim beam, which im not actually a huge fan of but its always cheap

Need to buy knee wraps, which ones should I get? Only Titan's wraps as they are the only ones available.

still haven't posted your lifts, jimcel

i'm sure you can back up all this big talk with some big lifts, right?

130 / 97,5 / 120
For 3x5, deadlift for 1x5 of course.

>WAWTT
Working my weights back up on SS plus accessories.
Hit:
Squat 190 3x5
Dead 215 1x5
Pause Dead 145 2x3
OHP 95 3x5
Chins 3,3,3,3,2
Machine Rows

Everything is progressing really well. Only deads feel really wonky. I'm 6'5" and find them really hard to dial in. I think I need to get my hips higher and do more of a stiff leg. I'll have to capture and post vid next week.

45/45/45 at 300 lbs, and I make up training sessions and anecdotal reflections for fun since I'm an incel.

Speed is not talked about enough amongst beginners and intermediates.

Holy shitballs does speed make you strong. It's such an important part of lifting and few talk about it.

this is actually 100% accurate

What do you do to achieve and maintain conditioning?

Super memey but I love Julien Pineaus work. with that in mind, I do circuits on the stairmaster. I breath strictly through my nose. If I have to breath through my mouth, I call the session. I work up adding an interval every week. I do three days a week because I am crazy out of shape and my weights are low right now.

In the future I'd like to try sleds, sandbags, and rowers.

What's with the nose thing? Your conditioning work isn't hard enough if you can breathe through your nose only.

t. actual mouthbreather

Could be. But I highly recommend you give it a shot. Pineau claims that it keeps you in a parasympathetic state and allows you to train and recover much quicker. I'm experimenting with it and I find that I can do hard cardio, get my heartrate way up, then recover VERY quickly after.

Never, but you need to when you work out : )

There is Wild Turkey for $40, the Woodford Reserve $0ish dollar stuff is better.

Any $20 whiskey I've found to be largely indistinguishable from $9 Benchmark whiskey.

And this is why I used to get the $9 Benchmark whiskey.

I'll have to see if there's any sort of that in the local Liquor Barn next time. I like my porters, but could use a change of pace.

bench press is the best gauge of RAW PHYSICAL STRENGTH. you only downplay this because you're a pudgy, weak little shit of a manlet with an equally embarrassing bench press.

nobody gives a shit that you can bounce your morbidly obese gut off of your legs for your little bullshit wide stance "squat". nobody cares about your 5 inch ROM sumo "deadlift".

bench. press. is. king.

>Woodford Reserve $40ish stuff is better

Fixed.

I like to keep a bottle of Bakers, Elijah Craig, Buffalo Trace, Corner Creek, or Knob Creek for guests. Looks good in the decanter. Woodford is a good fit there.

For daily sips, I like Canadian Club ($11), JB Rye ($20) or David Nicholson 1843 if it's ever on sale.

I know we debated about this previously, but listening to WSBB podcast, Louie keeps stating that all speed work is done at 75, 80, and 85%, with bands accounting for about 20-25% of total weight on the bar. This brings speed day far closer to Prilepin's table. Have you tried going that heavy for a long period of time (long enough to adapt to the demand and get quick with those weights)? Might be worth a shot.

Im soon competing in my third strongman competition, sup

Any general recommendations for accessories focusing on grip strength? Heavy dumbbell work? Chins all day erry day?

got told about a comp near me but it turned out it was for vets only. a bit gay imo

unless youre a "ive only been lifting 6 months but i want to doh forever XD" memers, or pulling 300kg, you dont need it

I was Lucky to get my first 2 competitions within about an hour away but this one coming up is like 4-5h away.

They say you should try several until you find the ones that you like
t. never used them
You're welcome for my uninformed opinion

do you train in a strongman gym or have you got your own shit at home? does your gym run comps?

Farmers walks.

They say Genghis Khan made his archers take a mouthfull of water and ride to the top of a mountain, if when they came back they didn't still have the water he killed them or something like that. I'm not sure how he knew that they didn't cheat by getting new water or that they got to the peak. So there's that.

I train at home for gym lifts but I go to a strongman gym every sunday and run 3 different strongman implements for 2-3h. Sometimes I go there in the middle of the week too if I wanna do something specific like working on farmers holds or w/e. My gym I think did a competition sometime, but they mostly do PL like once a year. Its me and 3 other active strongman guys and then some PL guys doing their PL stuff. Its a small and private gym with limited membership. Cheap too. Its great.

What is your frequency/split for the barbell lifts?

does anyone know the ivan abadjiev quote. something like "if I had a machine gun and a german shepard I could make you all olympic champions"?

>parroting the Bourbons I tell him about

You should have referenced me, nerd.

You might like Chivas Regal? One of the nicer cheap-ish whiskeys. Fan of scotch or irish whisk(e)ys? Can't stomach Bushmills for shit, can hack any other whiskey.

I only tried Angel's since one of my college buddies brought some to atlanta when I was there a couple months ago. And Buffalo Trace being good isn't exactly a secret.

B-but thanks for the recommendation

I try to do tuesday deads and low trap bar deads(sometimes do presses here too), wednesday press, rows and accessory, thursday squat and press, if I got time I try to do some light squats at monday too but its the Day after strongman training so Im usually pretty burnt out.
My weeks dont Always look the same cuz work and other stuff so I just try to fit deads, squats and press and the rest if Im lucky

I dropped out of school ages ago and applied for a lot of jobs I really wanted and got none of them for medical and location reasons

oops

Attached: 1504547091210.png (656x755, 39K)

maybe you didnt get them because youre a fucking dropout...

Attached: brainlet1.jpg (1218x1015, 188K)

I literally didn't get them for the reasons I stated

Oops

what? 130 bench, 97.5 squat, 120 DL?
very odd numbers

nice cope brainlet

On your resume, did you put "off-topic blogger" as your current vocation?

yes why?

Do you include your stats and powerlifting achievements in your CV?

really annoyed at myself for not getting a pr I wanted today. I already know the answer but should I try again tomorrow. I dont want to wait another training cycle :(

Has everyone's training been going well lately? I just hit a decent bench set today. Things have been good all around.

Attached: Bench 245x3.webm (1920x1080, 2.81M)

how old is the video of you comically failing 100kg with alex spotting you?

I think around a year and 8-9 months or so. My bench progress has been really shit the last year compared to my squat/deadlift progress.

What is your bench programming currently?
