Run general. Don't see one open right now

Ran a 5k in 33 minutes for the first time. I'm untrained and nearly threw up. How do I get better bros. Next time I go running do I just do another 5k but faster? I feel sick

Just got back from a pb for 4k

Just keep doing it dude, you'll feel like shit but it's the fastest way to improve. Just space your runs so you can recover and don't eat for ~2 hrs before and drink a big glass of water an hour before.

yeah maybe don't go so hard though, keep a pace that's sustainable but still pushes you, not to the point of sickness though. It might be slow at first but every time you'll be able to go a little faster without dying

keep running
consistency
the less you weigh, the easy it is on your joints, the faster you'll go

dont just do cardio

Also did my first 5k today in 39 minutes. Didn't feel that tired but my O2 capacity seems to be the limiting factor.

I had planned on working my way up to a 5k by september but since I can already do it, I'll need a different goal. Is getting to a 30 minute time reasonable? Should I be running 5k every time I do cardio? I assume I shouldn't run 5-6 days a week right off the bat right?

>tfw tasted blood in my mouth when I ran the other day

sub 20 minutes is a good goal

Yeah just keep doing 5k's. Aim for a lower time every run. Eventually you can get down to the low twenties if you try. Make sure you eat and rest enough. DO NOT land on your heels unless you want to destroy your knees.

I mean a reasonable goal in the next month or two.

couch to 5k is honestly a good way to start. I went from that to now doing 10k regularly

At what point does running become enjoyable? I've been at it for 6 months and while my 5k time has improved, the experience is still just painful and my lungs feel like shit. How the fuck are people able to run and talk?

Try a different speed, faster or slower. I've got a "butter zone" where I feel hella good, max runners high. 6:45 per mile for me. If i run slower than that it's actually harder and way less enjoyable.

Find that runners high zone and stay in it as long as you can. If I'm coming from untrained, I only get a mile and a half or so. But a month of every other day and I'll hit six miles feeling good the whole time

I have a discipline problem and I need help...
I've been running daily 5 miles for the past month and a half. I average about 43 minutes with about a 9 minute pace. When I run I just start to drift mentally and am enjoying myself.

What can I do to improve my 5 mile time? My end goal is a 7 minute/mile for 5 miles.

Army just taped me at 19% BF.

Fastest ever 1 mile was 6:30 and fastest 2 mile was 14:02

Been running 3 years. I still like cigarettes and booze. You can get that v taper and body without being a faggot. When I see fat bros running I will them my blessing and strength. Keep it up, turd

>What can I do to improve my 5 mile time?
Grow a few more inches

Stratify. Run 3 miles fast one day, 2 slow the next, 5 medium the third, none at all the fourth. Pick one day a week to run a fast mile and retard sprint most of the second mile until you literally heave and nearly puke. Best advice I have

Unlikely at my age i'm going to see any growth spurts. I don't accept defeat.

I'm considering that option. I'm honestly getting winded running 30 miles a week (I have taken off most Sundays)

Fuck that fag. Height means jack, it's about heart and balls. You're running a lot- you have a strong cardio system now. Just attune it for speed. You won't be putting up the usual mileage, but instead you'll exert the same force in less time.

I was just avin a laff

>be me
>been running for 8 years
>track in high school and college
>pr: 1:59 800m, 4:40 mile, 16:50 5k, 29:43 8k
>run 60 mile weeks
it gets easier, but it can still suck

Cheeky wank

Still love ya cmere (don't I have social anxiety)

holy fucking shit

it helps me look shredded as fuck when I lift, even tho I don't lift that big of weights, I just have like no body fat

This. I have a 17:20 5k and a 5:00 mile it never gets easier but I find you tend to enjoy yourself more as you grow into it. Where it really feels good is when you are not running and have a easy time breathing.
