Has anyone had any success with vegetarian or vegan diets? Do you recommend any resources for vegan or vegetarian meals?

Half the thread will guaranteedly be people unsubstantively shitting on vegan diets, but I’m interested in learning more about vegan diets and potentially becoming vegan depending on what I learn.
How about you use the google search engine to find out about veggie diets and how they will have an effect on your lifestyle and workouts

I’m doing that concurrently but asking here as well for a supplement to my own desktop research.
There’s a lot of information on Google, but it tends towards articles and people trying to sell their blog or product, whereas here there’s more anecdotal accounts and good memes, both of which are helpful.
while most of the publicly known vegan/vegetarian bodybuilders are clearly on steroids, I do have one buddy who's vegan and an animal rights activist who is pretty shredded and definitely looks bigger and more ripped than 99% of Jow Forums. So it's definitely possible.
By successful I mean that you’ve been able to maintain low body fat while sustaining a relatively large amount of muscle. Large is subjective, so let’s just call it 2-3 years of lifting, from the 35th to 65th percentile of muscle by weight for people who have lifted that long.
What’s your training style, bf%, and overall size/strength levels? Have you noticed any difficulties in keeping protein levels high? I know it can be done, but in what ways have you found it harder or more expensive? Why did you choose this diet?
Thank you for the recommendation. Much appreciated. Glad to hear it’s worked for you.
Thanks for the information. What is challenging about maintaining this diet, if anything? Do you always adhere to it, or do you occasionally have exceptions, like if your partner orders the salmon and you want to try a bite? What made you start, and what makes you continue for so long?
Thanks for posting. Can you walk me through some of the numbers? Are all in range, or are any abnormal? If the latter, what about your diet is causing that, if it’s diet related, and how would you fix it? If nothing’s abnormal, what protocols do you follow to make sure everything stays within the right range?
What would you say is going on with those vegans who are unhealthy? Cause some of them look p fucked up and describe numerous health issues after some time on a vegan diet.
they're all in normal range except lipid panel for total cholesterol, however this low of a cholesterol is actually about the same level as hunter gatherer tribes of today, pic related. lower ldl cholesterol is always better and optimal sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0735109704007168
as for my diet, this is what i generally follow to get these results which i will copy paste from another thread.
20% protein(this is what keeps uric acid levels nice and low so you don't develop gout), rest of 80% varies in ratio, don't have a set one. strictly whole food diet, I focus on complex carbs(potatoes of all kinds and whole grains) and fiber(this is what keeps triglycerides low), and limit fruit consumption as they don't have much nutrition compared to other food groups. vegetables are a staple as well and where most of my micronutrients come from along with nuts and seed consumption(also good source of fats). protein source i usually go for beans(onions not recommended but it's not necessarily bad) but you really don't need to eat legumes if you're not working out and only care about longevity as long as you're eating enough calories and whole grains, rarely has ever been hospitalized over protein deficiencies. adding herbs to your cooking is optional but recommended to compensate for limited fruit consumption as they have significant amount of antioxidants. as for supplements, i only take b complex(its actually cheaper than b12 supplements alone so don't get scammed) and omega 3s. if you have trouble planning out your diet, make sure you use cronometer so you know exactly which nutrients to cover up.
they're likely following the advice of youtube celebs like durianrider and freelee on vegan diets which are honestly extremely lacking in micronutrients(fruit is basically sugar water due to overfarming today). anyone that doesn't do stupid fad shit like raw till 4 and gets routine blood tests will mostly be fine on a vegan diet.
about 3 years and going.

I'll keep it short, I've noticed no difference between eating meat/dairy and eating vegan. I've made gains at the same rate. You have to eat a little more if you're consuming whole plant foods rather than processed stuff. Also why I did it? Mostly spiritual/ethical reasons. I don't bother with high protein levels, it hasn't affected my strength having them lower.

bro im 10 years vegan and going strong, check me out on youtube: vegetable police
I switched to a plant based diet a little over a month ago and train weightlifting 5 days/wk. Recently PRd my snatch, clean, and front squat so strength hasnt dropped off. Higher carb diet has me feeling more sustained energy during training. A vegan or plant based diet is no different than an omnivorous one in that you have to make a concerted effort to reap any benefits. Also i would suggest supplementing creatine for athletic performance

he started eating meat last week, he's not a vegan
