Switch to hexbar for OHP

>switch to hexbar for OHP
>lifts going up
>form is better

what are the downsides, if any to doing this intead of standard barbell press?

How does that work, wtf?

>hexbar for OHP
nigga what?

it's likely you weren't properly internally rotating your shoulders with a straight bar and the hex bar allowed you to utilize a neutral grip and easier hold internal rotation

What is so crazy about hexbar OHP? Not OP and haven't done because I go to a stupid commercial gym that doesn't have hexbars, but as long as you have room, it seems fine. I don't know how narrow they are though.

wait how the fuck?

what's not to understand

i understand why you would do trap bar deadlifts but ohp???

just use a swiss bar holy fuck

>not using hexbar for all your workouts
>making it
Pick on dyel. Hexbar curls are where it's at for biceps

How to return it to the squat rack? Like you can’t get it down.

just lift it overhead.
not that hard

>manlet's drone photo

Just let it go and tuck your arms in so it doesn't hit you on the way down

I do hexbar chest flyes, get at me

Hex bar power cleans have better full body development

hex bar rows are unironically amazing. basically the only exercise i would use it for besides diddly.

hexbar lat raises destroy my delts

>tfw you knock yourself out on the catch when you go to high
how many times have you done this brahs...i did it earlier last week

>he doesn't do hexbar squats

...so hexbar deadlifts?

This couldn't possibly go wrong kek

no like this

Slightly less back involvement.
Which is easily fixed by working out back right afterwards and takes like five minutes.

Really can't go wrong using hex.

Apperently this is actually a thing

Hexbar bench press for max gains

Literally already a thing

What i want to see is trap bar olympic lifts

>he doesnt do hexbar rows

low-bar? high-bar? front squat? ssb?

no

no-bar squats are the new meta, just support the bar in mid air

>5min back workouts

Standard grip on a barbbell for OHP is locking your shoulder into an internally rotated position lengthening your 2 posterior rotator cuffs which can exacerbate stability within the glenohumeral joint.

Hexbar allows neutral grip & thus a more contracted state for your infraspinatus/teres minor stabilizing your shoulder better

kek

Not OP but can you explain the internal rotation you mean in terms of cues?

I just YouTubed it and I can’t believe it. I’ve never seen that before let alone heard of it. I know for a fact if I ever tried pulling that at my gym everyone would think I’m autistic as fuck making a huge scene. And the gym I go to has some serious lifters

who gives a shit? i do weird lifts but they are 100x more effective for me than conventional ones. the only guys who look as me weirdly are vastly smaller and weaker. bigger guys normally know that other big/strong guys are doing things for a reason.

>caring what others gym goers think
>making it
pick one

>he doesn’t bench with the hex bar

>try to do hex bar snatch
>knock my legs out from under me and eat shit

>not doing a curled-up screw attack front-flip during the snatch in order to stick the landing and lock it out

memeing aside these are probably optimal for overhead squats

How? With an overhead squat you can at least load up past what you can push-press by just unracking the bar from a high position. How the fuck do you set up a decent-weight overhead squat with a hex bar?

Not to mention that when you just have a normal bar over your head, it's easy to avoid injury by just throwing/dumping it forward. What the fuck happens when you fuck up with a hexbar over your head? RIP head after the decapitation

isn't this the same idiot that taught a bunch of crossfit people how to do a kipping dip?

don't bully me, I'm learning :(

>that 60 year old boomer doing hexbar presses in the squat rack

set it on high safeties in a squat rack not a power rack

as to the decapitation issue, this is a problem i did not consider. maybe there could be some high blocks that you can drop the weight onto in the ATG position. come to think of it the swiss bar is by far the better choice. what i was thinking was that the neutral grip would allow some to overcome their shoulder mobility issues.

Hehe. I get it. It's because he's transitioning.

Hey guys, is this one of those troles I've been hearing about?
