>hex bar deadlifts allow you to go heavier, are easier to do, and put less strain on your lower back
Why the fuck am I told to do regular fucking deadlifts? I’m not looking to be a competitor I just want to look better
Hex bar deadlifts allow you to go heavier, are easier to do, and put less strain on your lower back

Hex is better, flat out.
Anyone that tells you otherwise has no idea what they are talking about.
It's also pretty much impossible to fuck up form with a hex bar, it's a natural movement.
>b-but my back
For those faggots spewing that shit, it still works out your lower back.
Then why does everyone tout the regular deadlift?
My guess would be newfangled bars are scary like flat screens and fire
Most gyms dont have hex bars for deadlifting, my guess is that most people dont do deadlifts, they still somehow manage to build good bodies without them honestly.
>not ruining your back for a part of your body nobody cares about is reddit
wew
I started doing hex bar deads this year and I'll never look back. so easy to achieve perfect form. you get weird looks though because nobody has ever seen it
>The chad Olympic dead lift
>The virgin hex bar dead lift
Stay butt hurt, backlets
Lol how is this even an insult reddit is a great site, way more informative than this shit hole
Why didn't you switch already? Hex bar deads are superior and safer
I don't even think about scraping my shins after having switched to this. It's ezpz, just grab it and stand up lmao. With oly bar, have to worry about hand position, feet width so you don't accidentally into sumo, how close the bar is to you when starting, etc.
Hex bar is to deadlifts as leg press is to squats
Get the fuck out.
super easy to set after first rep for me. way better than normal deadlifts unless you're a competitive hobbylifter
How heavy is the hex bar conpared to the normal bar? People are giving me too much shit for dropping the bar while deadlifting
usually 45lbs, some are a little more. try weighing yours if at all possible
Trap bar is like 90% the same while being safer. It also allows you to load up way more. There is no reason not to if you don't compete.
Yeah I switched to the hex bar and haven't looked back. I have lmaoscoliosis and the hex bar makes me much more confident. But remember, if you don't pull from the low handles you're doing it wrong.
So it weighs the same as a regular bar? Weird.
>People are giving me too much shit for dropping the bar while deadlifting
We call them dyels user, they're not really people
It varies but often weighs more. Some are like 80 lbs
it's tricky. they can weigh anywhere from 45-80 depending on the style. really if you need a concrete answer just weigh your gyms
lmao all this shilling for the hex bar. enjoy your undeveloped spine bro
Hex bar is amazing cause my hip and ankle mobility are shit. Deadlifting never felt better.
And you can still set it up to be hinge dominant and not just a hack squat, even with high handle. So inb4
this
At least we will still have one
theyre better for developing power, so have a better follow over to sports, and yeah less chance of fucking up your back with poor form.
Not quite as much activation of your upper back though, but if you're relying solely on DLs for that, you're retarded.
it's my last week at my current gym and today happens to be deadlift day. they're the only gym i've been to that has this bar and i've never tried it because it's a temporary gym and didn't want to start hating the olympic bar.
35kg
This
snap city about to get some new residents
Regular deadlifts are harder on your lower back. Which, depending on what you're actually trying to do, makes them a better or worse exercise than trap bar DL.
Because most gyms don't have a hex bar and most gyms don't have a hex bar because they are commercial normie meme tier gyms or gyms not based around powerlifting.
Everyone touts the regular deadlift simply because it is one of the 'big three' in PL. Hex is safer, allows better and more natural form and allows for bigger weight. The only 'downside' is that there is less stress involved on the posterior chain, thus less development in the long process. There is nothing wrong with sometimes swapping conventional DL's for hex bars, just like you should do variations of a regular deadlift as well instead of just doing conventional all year around.
BUT WHAT ABOUT THE JEFFERSON DEADLIFT?
Hex bar is perfect if you DL alone because there's no fucking way you can go snap city while using it
Even if you want to do the conventional deadlift, if you're starting from complete scratch, you should probably start off with the hexbar for a while.
Conventional deadlift is not a simple movement, and requires a decent ammount of cues, and laying a strength foundation before you start working on them couldn't be a bad thing.
If you're after aesthetics, but you still want to deadlift, hex bar is the answer. If you've got a bad bar like me, Hex is definitely the answer. Not so much for your back, but as a replacement for both squats and deadlifts, with a bunch of assistance movements thrown in to fill in the gaps.
I guess do whichever one you want, but there are definite advantages to hex if you're not going to be competing.

i disagree. you are more likely to snap your shit up by going from hex to olympic precisely because you haven't been hitting the hinge as hard and because you're used to the hex bar looking after your form for you. i'd recommend the exact opposite - start off with getting the form right with baby weight on olympic, then once you've got the form down and got some strength, you can pick up the hex if you want to.
But high bar squat + conventional dl is a better combo. Why do I need this hybrid shit. Do is safe if you're not a brainlet.
keep it on the downlow we want to keep it to ourselves
and now he has fully outed himself lmao
That’s not an argument you fucking retard
>In conclusion, the barbell deadlift was clearly superior in activating the biceps femoris compared with the hex bar deadlift and hip thrust, whereas the hip thrust provided the highest gluteus maximus activation.

Something to think about.
>nobody cares about legs
>needing a proper argument when you say something so fucking stupid
back to your upvote shithole
If you are trying to hit bis with deadlifts you should kys.
Brainlet
>Olympic deadlift
>I dont know what olympic lifting is
If you don’t know what a clean deadlift is you need to shit the fuck up.
