Good job user.
>Smashed a perfect form, no arch
well, which one is it?
Benched 1pl8 for the very first time. Feels good to finally have that milestone.
>perfect form
>No arch
Hmm
this
how much is 1plt in lbs?
265 isn't an impressive bench at all. Waste of a fucking thread.
45 lbs
Managed 2pl8 ohp. Felt good, but now i need a nap
135
so that's basically one 20kg weight on each side of the bar?
Injured myself squatting five months ago. Tried it today and I think I'm healed. I only lifted ~65% of my previous max but all the reps felt really good.
No, it's 30 each side, you don't count the bar
Arch isnt necessary its easier with an arch
Ye what do you bench m8? op never said it was impressive, just that he's happy with it.
>perfect form
>no arch
One 45 lbs plate on each side and a standard bar that is also 45 lbs = 135 lbs. As a eurofag we have 20 kg plates which is only 44 lbs, so if I'm honest here , I only did a 1pl8 - 2 lbs bench. But that's fine considering I started and struggled with just the fucking bar 8 month ago.
yes
Op here, arching is a powerlifting thing. The movement is harder without an arch. It still wont damage your back with no arch..
I know it's harder and It won't damage your back but it could damage your shoulders and clavicles. You can avoid doing an extreme arch but it's important to keep your shoulders locked back and don't bring em forward doing the exercise, and work on a right angle that helps you push with your pecs without unnecessarily involve your shoulders, and you obtain that angle bringing your chest up and your shoulders back and low
Even from a bodybuilding point of view it's better doing as I said, cause it will help to concentrate the work on the pecs
good job
