has anyone ever tried eating earthworms? they are a good protein source (60% of total body weight) and basically free if you have a bit of soil to grow them. and they are a good source of calcium too
i'm on my way to becoming a poor hippie or some shit like that and don't want to lose my gains
How many worms do you have to catch to make this an efficient venture though? digging through soil all day seems like a pain in the ass.

you do know that you could just buy chicken organs for literally no money.
Dominic Howard
well you can raise them too. and being so poor that I'd need to eat worms would mean i'm unemployed and with lots of free time. wouldn't need more than like 100 worms a day
James Ramirez
>hear about cricket powder >All the articles about it say "new cheap form of protein coming soon! But who will eat insects?" >Finally see some in a store >Costs more per gram than chicken breast
I'd rather sell them. Some people are willing to pay a dollar per worm if the are big and fat
Christopher Morales
On a more serious note is there any guide to getting a godtier physique as a dirt poor loser? Like 180 g of protein and 2000 kcal for like almost nothing I'd literally eat shit if I could get swole on such a tight budget
Julian Adams
eat worms
Gavin Gutierrez
eat cockroaches bro they are the same as crickets, just people wont find crickets as gross as roaches for some reason yeah this makes sense too, but i live in a very rural area and people know where to dig for good worms homesteading bro. like people used to do, it's just that until you have a steady supply of meat (rabbits or pidgeons) you will have to do with shit tier grains or veggies and thats why im looking into these meat tubes this sounds literally more gross than worms
If you are really so poor you cant afford chicken breast and rice you need to focus on other stuff besides lifting.
Christian Johnson
The absolute state of Jow Forums: breeding worm for extra gains
Leo Flores
i once looked into raising crickets but apparently they smell pretty bad and they take a shit ton of space if you want to have more than one meal in a week. worms are too fatty for muh gains
Joshua Cox
you are going to get gout if you choose to eat like some sort of ghoul.
I read all these articles on how ostrich is really easy and cheap to raise, has less environmental impact than cattle, reaches slaughter age way faster than mammalian livestock, valuable byproducts like leather, feathers eggs and guano, but whenever i see it n stores its priced as a luxury item
or you could go full mad max and eat maggots. you just need a good supply of corpses
Oliver Hernandez
I can afford chicken breast. I'm an engineer. I just don't care to spend money on food that my body digests into the same fuel regardless of the source. I'd rather eat insects that taste a little worse and are way cheaper than spend a bunch of money and time buying fresh meat every week
Isaac Wood
There is a reason for that. insect meat isn't subsidized, unlike land and sea animal meat like chicken and beef. Also, there is "another reason" as to why insect meat is so expensive. It has to do with the insect steroids found in it, a lot of "pro hormone" supplements have insect extracts because of this.
Here is my receipt from Walmart about 2 weeks worth of food for ~$50 >10lbs bag of rice >chicken breast $2/pound >fish $3.5/pound >canned veggies $1/can and eat .5 cans per meal Also milk can be good if you're trying to gain weight shit is $2/gallon with 2400 calories and 128g protein
>Also, there is "another reason" as to why insect meat is so expensive. >It has to do with the insect steroids found in it, a lot of "pro hormone" supplements have insect extracts because of this. wut? You tell me that the box full of cockroaches I feed to my tarantulas are anabolic?
Aiden Ramirez
snails are free. you just got to starve them or feed them only known leaves for a few days to make sure thay aren't carrying plant toxins
Look it up, not bullshitting you plants have phytosteroids, insects have ecdysteroids. The most powerful insect steroid hormone is turkesterone(yeah, that's a real name).
Juan Moore
turkish butcher or Mediterranean shops or mostly any supermarket will have them.
Jonathan Miller
I can't find chicken hearts where I live. I just checked the nutritional values and holy shit, it's like the perfect food, but there's no way I can get these. Only chicken livers which are real cheap but I don't think they're really healthy.
Ryan Richardson
i can buy them for 2.50 euro a kilo
Lucas Ross
Bean's and lentils are the poor man's protein you dumb fuck. If you're so far gone as to be eating earthworms, well, I don't know what to say except C H I R P my nigga.
Same around here, which is like 250g of protein, real cheap.
Noah Cruz
One ostrich egg is like a 20 egg omelette. Even more efficcient to raise them for eggs than to raise them for meat. They're dumb as fuck and hilarious as well.
Carson Cox
You're on foodstamps though so you are being dishonest
Luis Morris
>>They're dumb as fuck and hilarious as well Sounds just like you
Brandon Bailey
Wheat gluten. Make your own bread with it, along side some wheat flour, yeast, pepper and salt. I have made my own bread lately and 400g of bread I make has around 150g of protein. It is the perfect poverty meal, it is just fucking loaded with protein, even if it's of mediocre quality the sheer ammount more than makes up for it. A 25kg bag of wheat gluten(should cost you around 70-90 dollars) will last you more than 60 days, assuming you are eating around 300g of wheat gluten a day. 300g of wheat gluten has 240g of protein. You can also cook wheat gluten and literally make your own mock meats if you have the proper sauce for it.
wheat gluten isn't even mediocre quality, it's absolute shit and you can't really compensate for it by consuming twice the amount
Jason Rogers
fuaark id eat this not gonna lie just that chickens usually eat trash we eat ostrich legs sometimes here when some niggers go "hunting". nice meat and good to exercise your jaws i hate rice i tried snail stew once an it was a giant pot of mucus kek i'm talking of a literal 0 money situation. in my town you get 3 kgs of chicken wings for the equivalent of 1 us$ so i'd eat that probably
Jaxon Parker
i'm starting to consider this for when i buy enough land for a farm man. so far i thought of having a giant pidgeon cage and rabbits (highest protein meat and needs only grass)
Kayden Lewis
a bit mean.
Levi Collins
I don't have ostriches myself, but I have worked at a place that does. They really are funny animals. Rabbits are definitely a good idea. Then everybody could have grass fed, pasture rasied meat without the environmental impact of raising ruminants. And I don't know about your neck of the woods, but they're pests where I'm from, so you might just be able to ask a nearby farmer if you can go shooting on his property. We have an Easter bunny hunt where I'm from lol.
Caleb Allen
>i hate rice Too bad, eat it anyway.
Nolan Ward
>i hate rice then don't fucking eat it. Lots of cheap alternative starches like potatoes, barley, oats, couscous, pasta, beans, lentils. Don't know about where you're from but where I am (France) buckwheat is real cheap too and that is a complete protein
Caleb Richardson
it has literally the same ammount of leucine as meat >wheat gluten >expensive 100g of protein from wheat gluten costs like 60 cents
3kg for 1 dollar? no fucking way
Colton Collins
Ya I hate rice too but I eat that shit because its cheap
Benjamin Roberts
suck dick for money use those money to buy god tier protein swallow for extra protein
Matthew Parker
>100g of protein from wheat gluten costs like 60 cents Where do you live? Where I am the only wheat gluten I can find is pre-made seitan in the organic section of the supermarket and is pretty expensive. Prolly could find wheat gluten bulk online tho I suppose.
Angel Davis
Rice is such a passive food I don't get how anyone could dislike it. I mean I get it's bland on its own (not that I give a shit), but nigga if you don't like then just put some sauce on it lmao.
William Cruz
Don't buy it in pre made form, buy it in powders and mix it with water in a bowl, mix it up until it gets somewhat solid/spongy then add in whatever you want like oils or, salt, pepper, dried tomatos, whatever for flavour, then put it in the oven or just fry it.
Jack Harris
Rice with sauce is good but when you have to force feed plain rice and chicken it becomes tiresome
Will try it if I see it but I'm not gonna order it online, it's not that important to me. At the momentI just get "textured vegetable protein" ie söy protein. Yeah I know have at me. Otherwise beans and lentils and buckwheat and potatoes and shit.
Hudson Jackson
Lol this webm is great. I'd get tired on plain rice and chicken too... though honestly I'd get tired of chicken before the rice. Rice always seems to complement whatever its served with to me, so no issues just switching up the protein and veges or using a new sauce.
Blake Morgan
look at pic related and tell me you are not hungry it's basically putting pure carbs into you and i hate that. and it gives me heartburn is it expensive or what. we give them to the dogs
Is there any reason to not throw these bad boys into a grinder and mix them with lean beef for some ultra protien burgers? Because I want to try that now
Luke Harris
looks like a shop tho but anyway yeah, good idea! and put some worms in it!
Asher Thompson
I would recommend avoiding the soi protein, just in case. All plants have phytoestrogens, but soi has enormous concentrations in comparison to almost every single plant food. Wheat has almost none. Not sure if you can handle beans/lentils in terms of digestion well, but if you can, then yeah that would be good. Maybe a mix of wheat gluten/seitan with beans/lentils would be preferable, since wheat gluten has perfect macros except it somewhat lacks in lysine, which legumes have plenty of. If you can handle grains like wheat, then I would highly recommend the wheat gluten flour, it is just too convenient.
Jack Cooper
what the hell man i'm gonna go eat some bugs for the test gains my favorite right now are ants because they are spicy
Grayson Garcia
If you can't handle rice, one of the most universally well-tolerated foods on the planet, then the problem isn't rice it's you.
Cooper Stewart
insect meat is expensive because it is not subsidized, if meat and fish weren't subsidized they would be even more expensive than insect meat per pound. >tfw no government subsidized mandatory daily androgens filled insect meat based meals
Jace Reyes
What is going on the webm? I can't follow with no sound
Sebastian Perez
Is fish seriously subsidised? Also meat isn't subsidised here in New Zealand but it's not too expensive cos we have a lot of free fertile land. Lmao at overpopulated landcucks.
In any case, meat and fish subsidies should definitely be ended wherever they exist - two of the most horrible and wasteful industries from an evironmental perspective. With our population these days we just can't handle all that land use or ocean exploitation.
Lucky we in NZ still have a low enough population density to buffer that somewhat lmao. All you northern-hemispherecucks better cut back though.
James Jenkins
I gathered it was comparing daily food consumtion between the fat fuck and the slim Asian women in a very vivid way. Cuts right through the fat-people cognitive dissonace of "I don't eat that much" and "I eat pretty healthy" when it's so starkly represented and compared to someone who actually does eat healthily (or at least healthyish).
Matthew Thompson
meat non subsidised has a ridiculous cost in comparison to the price you see in grocery stores I'm talking like 10x the price, idk exactly how it differs from country to country, but as far as I know it is basically the same price everywhere in the first world.
Ian Scott
>cos

Compost your trash
Christopher Turner
>meat non subsidised has a ridiculous cost in comparison to the price you see in grocery stores >I'm talking like 10x the price >10x the price Holy shit that's insane. Seriously i nZ we got rid of agricultural subsidies and it's not nearly that bad. I'm in Europe right now and my impression here is that it's more expensive (especially beef and lamb though chicken and pork less so) and I'm pretty sure they do have subsidies here.
Having a low population density really is a blessing.
I might no be up to date with things back home though so any Kiwis in the thread set me straight if I'm getting shit wrong.

cos = because Is that not a common contraction in your country?
Logan Powell
The common shortening is cause. That's also not what contraction means.
Alexander Hall
look it up lmao, the price discrepancy really is insane for example an average burger in the usa would cost 40-50 dollars if meats weren't subsidized, it's not just the meat it self, but the animal feed that had to be paid for in order to produce the meat, alongside a bunch of other shit like anti biotics and supplementation and such.
Liam Cook
thats why you cook things
Robert Ross
I always shortened it 'cuz
David Stewart
how that just sounds like retarded corruption, i'm argentine and there are no subsidies for cows and we still get decently priced meat and with less trash/antibiotics in it. it's not like the united states dont have grasslands
Daniel Evans
That means cousin in NZ. Well, minus the '
Isaac Rivera
Southern hemisphere really is GOAT... at least the temperate regions (fuck off Brazil).
Josiah Morris
>snail stew
you're supposed to salt them, rinse, salt again until the slime is gone
I am sure the same is still true in argentina, there are lot of shady shit when it comes to these industries. Maybe not as bad there, but still bad.
Josiah Collins
why can't i just eat the dirt for protein?
the worm can do it why not me?
Easton Allen
i really dont know how worms work. their shit is even better than what they eat in biological quality nice man i'll consider this too maybe man but the price difference between funded and unfunded is not too large
it says DEBIT TEND(ed) on the receipt you idiot and if he was on food stamps, the food still costs the same he would just be getting money from the government to pay for it
Dominic Myers
It's from a UK show called Supersize vs Superskinny. is correct; they're comparing daily food intake.
