Don’t even lift, just start eating right. (No junk food Monday-Friday) and do some HIT sprints every other day as well as stretching to fix your posture. Do this for 3 months and you’ll be in great shape then start lifting. Being skinny fat like yourself the most important thing is diet. Bulking rn will just make you feel more like shit so that’s why I’m recommending you get your diet in check first. Trust me you’ll feel a lot better and look a lot better in few months then lift.
would 1700 calories per day work? i hate HIT would 30 minutes of jogging 4 times per week work?
Going all the way down to 1700 might be too low bro. I’d try something a little more and then go from there. If you start feeling tired and sore increase it, if you aren’t losing about a 1-2lbs a week eat less. And for the 30 minute jog I would instead recommend timed 3k runs. Were each time you try to do a little better then last even if it’s only a second. That way you stay motivated to push yourself and keep the “job” a little more intense. For diet (most important thing for people in you position) make sure you’re eating lots of quality protein.

Once you have your diet down then start lifting. When it comes to skinny fats like us, I was lifting right away which only made it worse. My diet was the biggest thing holding me back. The traditional advice for starting out is usually for people that are already skinny (Just eat lots and lift) or fat people (Just eat less and lift) for us we have to take a different approach. This approach is always fixing the diet FIRST. You can look up some Moreno info if you want. A lot of quality youtubers have talked about this topic. Like Elliot, Omar and Athlenx
