Have TMJ and my jaw clicks like fucking crazy.
How do people with TMJ chew gum to looksmaxxx? Apparently chewing gum is the worst thing you can do if you have TMJ.
Anyone have this and know of any reliefs
Anyone else here /temporomandibular jointlet/?

I'm not hugely sure about tmj but look up the dentist Dr Mike mew on YouTube he has some other looksmaxxing excersies on his channel and probably some advice about tmj
should get a mouth guard and sleep in it, that'll fix your TMJ
Thanks watching a video now.
Wait a min bros. Wait a min. I put my tongue on the roof of my mouth like he said, and instantly no more tightness in TMJ muscle. AND when I move my head around no stiffness in neck or traps. Wtf why am I 23 and only jsut learning about this
>Have it, mom's a dentist
DO NOT CHEW GUM YOU DUMBASS.
Go to Dentist, say your jaw is clicking, they can make you a mouthguard, wear the mouthguard.
>2 weeks lata
Boom bada bing no more clicking
>30 yrs lata
Corrective surgery
Just recently went through all this. My jaw would not only click but it couldnt open and close straight. physio therapy and a night splint helped. Most of the time it comes from clenching your teeth. The night splint would help and would give you a sick ass jaw line at the same time.
This, also it'll prevent grinding which makes your teeth, especially canines, look sexy af.
Yeah I think gum has made it alot worse. I'm pretty sure it was caused my clenching my teeth, but I don't do that anymore.
Would getting a mouth guard still be needed?
Not only gum, but steaks, apples or anything you need bite hard on. The proper term for that mouth guard is an occlusal night splint. The dentist would mould it to fit. Sleep with it on every night and within 1-2 months you will see massive progress.
Dead serious, TMJ can sure fuck your shit up. My aunt (genepool fucked me up) had to cycle pain meds in her late 30s due to TMJ.
I would really suggest biting the bullet and going to see a general Dentist. They'll give you a mouthguard (nightguard) by taking a mold of your teeth which'll sustain you. I don't really know the pricing cause lf the whole 'mom is a dentist', but it'll be well worth it.
>tfw a qt offers you gum and winks
>tfw you have to turn it down.
Does this mean I have to give up party drugs too? MDMA and ket cause my jaw to clench pretty bad and I sorta need chewy
My guard, still eat a lotta flank steak desu, but alas.
M8 keep your splint in water all the time. It keeps it clean and it doesn't get all smokey and yellow.
>post pic
>realize how shitty it looks
Just spent three minutes scrubbing the shit outta it with a cleaning solution...
Dw m8 I've seen worse. I had reatainer after i got my braces that looked the same. But dont scrub it. Rinse it out and keep it in water when you are not using it. And get those dissolving tablets that people use to clean dentures in water. They would help keep it clean.
I have an ortho scrub I just gently glance over it with a toothbrush. If I just got into the habit of not soaking it after I realized when I was dating someone the autism of stammering through a convo on how I wear a nightguard.
I have that. Doesn't hurt so I don't give a shit. Jaw pops every time I chew something
Still chewing falim gum for jaw gains baby
You're a no brainer. M8 trust me when i say this Get it fixed. Because its gonna get worse no matter what.
> mfw when a chick finds out you have this.
OP here. same as you, cant feel it but jaw pops and cracks.
Does it really get worse to the point you need painkillers? Maybe we should do somethign about it lol
I had left mine untreated for almost 2 years. I had started developing migraines every morning due to tension in my jaw. If you leave untreated for long your muscles will settle in and you wont be able to open and close your mouth properly. Imagine trying to approach a qt with jaw like bubba from forest gump.
Hey Jow Forums why did this happen
If I do a huge workout that really exhausts me my ears get all blocked up, like when you hold your nose and blow, but I can't unblock them for ages. Is that normal?
jokes on you, my girlfriend also has it
My doc gave me this excercise where I hold the jaw with both of my hands near both of my ears and I have to open and close my mouth while having my tongue in the roof of the mouth.
I chew dat dere mastic gum, the clicking doms go away after all that shit gets lubed up after chewing for good 30minutes
TMJ syndrome fucked my shit up for a good part of a year until I got my dental splint. I still grind my teeth, but it seems to help. Used to get bad teeth, jaw, and ear pain, headaches, pain radiating down my neck, etc. According to the doctor, spending my life grinding my teeth may have resulted in somewhat overdeveloped masseter muscles.
I've had TMJ disorder for 15 years.
Tried a splint, it didn't work. I would still wake up with my jaw locked and in pain. Would grind so hard that even with the splint my jaw would crack and lock.
Went to a physio, they said my breathing was fucking up my jaw. Apparently letting out your breath too quickly means your neck muscles have to step in and they are connected to your jaw muscles. Tried breathing techniques and it didn't do shit.
Good posture, and soft food helps, as well as relaxation.
>tfw jaw clicks since 20 y/o.
>now 29.
>no pain, no migraines, no nothing.
>just clicks when I yawn
>chew gum daily, get lots of hits into jaw/head because of muay that.
This thread scares me. I will start sleeping with my mouthguard, it's same as anons pics.
People around me can hear my jaw click when i eat. It pops like a fucking gun, and it started to get worse aswell. It was never this bad.
While searching around i found that most people just get told "shit luck" and are sent home with some stretching exercises.
Well i started doing this every night before bed:
"jogging with your mouth" (open it and close it, like chewing without theeth touching) x50
Moving jaw from left to right x15. (mine clicks while adjusting)
Pushing out jaw front x15 (like simulating an overbite)
It fucking works. It still pops and clicks, but no way as bad and its not scary anymor either. The almost pain is gone aswell. Its like i oiled up a bad chain, it kinda works now.
Try it out, if it ever gets bad again im going to a dentis but this works and has been working for a month now.
can you get tinnitus from this? suspecting I might have it
Had this aswell, what really helped me is gurgling, with or without water. Like pretend youre tasting wine by getting it in all corners of your mouth
>suddenly develope tmj
>painful clicking and jaw locks up
>suddenly stops hurting, jaw doesnt lock up anymore, clicking is very quiet
I told my dentist about it and he just dismissed it and said its probably because of my wisdom teeth
Do i really have to worry if its not causing me any discomfort? I got a new dentist but i keep forgeting to ask because i dont even notice anymore
