What ever happened to these threads?
Anyway, post meal recommendations, tips, and recipes. (Be sure to include stuff to eat for people who actually lift)
Vegan/Vegetarian General
veganism is a mental illness. please eat meat
Thank God for dead vegans
what happened to these threads? we hate you faggots, that's what happened
HURR DURR I DON'T EAT ANIMAL PRODUCTS GIVE ME ATTENTION PLS :(
OP, I’m not a troll, I’m actually into learning about this with you, but if you’re going to start a thread, at least post some links, videos, recipes, or starting point for critical debate. Thanks dawg.
veganism is not a sustainable diet. every single one of them takes some sort of supplement that's needed for the human body to function properly (things you get from eating meat.) why would you want to do a diet that you would 100% die from if we were living in the wild?

It's quick and delicious
Why do you care?
i'm just trying to help you
I'm mobile-posting lmao, tried to find the old sticky but couldn't find it. I wanted to post Scooby's recipes here but I don't know. Pretty low effort because I wanted to see if there was actually any demand for a thread like this. I don't even know anymore on this site.

I'm going vegetarian (this is how my diet usually is anyway, might as well commit) but I didn't want to exclude the vegans
Vegan here. Here's a list of protein sources that I rely on (varying levels of nutrition and health given that some are processed):
> chili and brown rice: use pinto, red kidney, and black beans. You can add textured vegetable protein (tvp) too for additional protein
> Clif bars (20g protein)
> Lentil curries
> Boca burgers
> Burritos: refried beans, tofu/tvp/tempeh, nutritional yeast; optional: potatoes, tomatoes, lettuce, beans, sour cream, cheese
Also, I'd generally recommend taking vegan multivitamins to ensure you're getting sufficient B12. Without B12, you can feel lethargic within the first few weeks of transitioning to a vegan lifestyle.
I can-t digest beans or lentils well.
Grains give me bloat and brainfog.
Vegetables make me fart and shit diarrhea.
What the fuck am I supposed to eat?
Even some fruits like berries give me foul liquid like shits, it is like anything with fiber just ferments and rots in my gut.
samefag
Maybe you're eating too much fiber? My mom used to think that fiber works by giving you diahrrea and "flushing your system out". Try gradually adding fiber into your diet.
>What the fuck am I supposed to eat?
meat. the answer is meat
in a bowl add 150g chickpeas, 150g black beans, 150g lentils, 150g quinoa, 50g peanuts, handful of spinach and arugula, 1/4 onion, 1/2 tomato, avocado sauce (blend a avocado, garlic, apple cider vinegar, red bell pepper and sriracha)
i eat one huge bowl of this shit everyday for 2 years now and its delicious, about 200g of carbs, 85g of protein and 40g of fat, on my dinner i eat 200g of chicken breast with veggies and some pasta
>I can-t digest beans or lentils well.
>Grains give me bloat and brainfog.
Do you rinse them before you cook them? You're supposed to do that to reduce bloating.
I've been eating a few hundred grams of pic related daily for about six months. They're cheap as fuck and after boiling about 24% protein. You can incorporate them into pretty much anything, stir fries, pasta sauce, etc. Here's a tip for boiling them; add some acid like vinigar or lemon juice to completely get rid of the so-y taste and smell. Also add some pepper and salt when you boil them.
if you're a vegitarian girls don't want to fuck you .get owned.
These look like they're be good in multiple different sauces, like you could marinate them and they'd taste divine. I love how versatile stuff like this is, as well as tofu, and tempeh.
Here's the thing: I can't speak for other vegans, but I do it for ethical reasons. Therefore such concerns do not enter into the equation for me - life, the world, and what's right, are bigger than just my body. And a *weekly* dose of sublingual B12 is hardly a problem.
BTW if I wasn't a vegan I would still supplement B12 (and probably other things as well), because despite what you'd like to think, having a balanced, nutritionally rich omnivore diet is still hard as fuck. Therefore the only "attractive" point of an omnivore diet - having unrestricted access to premade foodstuffs - is something you shouldn't be doing anyway. So if it's going to be complicated anyway, I might as well not parcipate in perpetuating animal suffering and the destruction of the environment.
Vegan threads are always up on Jow Forums but what you will never see are vegan body pics with timestamps. They will hew and haw and come up with a dozen reasons why they won't post them but the truth is they are all scrawny, weak and look like shit. Proof of this will come within minutes as some weak vegan will reply to this post with an excuse for no pic with timestamp.
Shoot one deer and one animal dies. To eat the equivalent amount of calories as a vegan thousands of rodents, insects and various other animal lives are taken. If you truly care about animal suffering hunting your own meat is the most ethical decision.
Agreed. My primary reason is to reduce my personal impact on the environment. I am no longer contributing to: mass deforestation to meet demand for meat; poor animal welfare; increases in methane and carbon that negatively affect air and water quality, and impinge on the ozone layer.
>oxalates, phytic acid sap all your minerals

The story of every vegan
>You're supposed to do that to reduce bloating.
You know the very best way to reduce bloating? Don't eat grains like a sow.
I don't even eat that many grains though. I have lentils like once every 1.5 weeks, and my brown rice portions are small. I make my own bread, but almost seldom do it.
Actually, it would be to cultivate your own vegetables or buy them from sustainable farms. btfo with zero-sum edge kiddo, and get back to me when you stop being a brainlet
Same can be said for raising a cow. One fatass cow can feed me for a year or more.
I know my health over a lifetime is worth at least 1,000 cow lives.
Good luck farming anything while causing 0 deaths. I suppose you love the mosquitos that bite you and the aphids, correct? Go spend a week working at any farm, sustainable or otherwise. Note the number of lives taken to provide you with spinach.
get an instant pot©
That thing is great. There's a lot of recipes vegan qts put up on youtube for shitters like me who are terrible at cooking
>Go spend a week working at any farm
This. You will learn to hate masquitos and flies with a burning, genocidal passion.
I was going to reply to you with a body pic but I'm not buff enough
I only take vitamin D and b12 once a week, which is supplemented to animals and added to animal products anyways. You wouldn't die from it if living in the wild, there's plenty of b12 in untreated water and our body synthesizes vitamin D from sunlight. All other vitamins/minerals we can easily get from plants.
One thread somewhat recently had a vegan post his body and he was muscular and looked good. But everyone either said he looked dyel OR admitted he looked good but insisted he must be secretly eating meat. There's no pleasing the haters so why bother? There's always going to be a reason to dismiss it. Hasn't even got to do with veganism, it's just the way this board is - anyone who looks good will be called dyel or told they roid regardless of diet or routine. Even balconybro got told he looks like shit once...
Oh and I'll personally admit I'm dyel right now but I'm not actually vegan. Just came here hoping for some tips on how to make tofu not taste like shit cause it's cheap protons.
>Not imagining himself as a bull being fed every time he eats.
How do you bulk then?
I can't decipher whether or not this is trolling, or just plain stupid.
Long term Japan expat here, not dyel at all. Pan fry tofu with butter, flip a couple times while cooking. Once outside is crispy brown all around plate and add a drizzle of honey.
Also you are making excuses and not even vegan yourself. You allude to a body pic with timestamp yet in years of browsing these shitty threads I have never seen one. Stop making excuses. If vegan diets are good for working out it should be easy to prove.
>no, not the poor suffering animals! stop the senseless killing
>fuck bugs tho lol
Yoghurt and sauerkraut like your life depended on it. Both organic and as expensive as you can find, or make them yourself.
Honey is also a good option.
Gotta balance your gut flora and grow bacteria which will help you to digest these starches. DESU
Also, drop modern grains. Especially white bread from supermarkets
Will try to butter thing, but to confirm, no salt or sauce of any kind?
Not an excuse, just a statement on the nature of this board. Look at CBT threads, lots of great looking dudes get told they look like shit. Half this board has body dismorphia and most of the other half pretends it does to troll.
And the rational attitude towards veganism for a non-vegan is to ignore it or lightly chuckle at it. Anyone who's SEETHING because some faggot cares about chicken fee fees is an even bigger faggot himself.
>implying you'd be able to get the amount of meat you regularly eat if you were in the wild
Can any vegans explain the reason for their lifestylechoice? Is it muh suffering? Is it muh its healthy?
Gonna do rice and beans tomorrow
Nice links thanks
Yo my niggas what's everyone's favourite vegetable?
I mean that's what humans were designed to do. On a side note. I'd really like someone to perform an experiment involving one vegan and an omnivore. Set them both up in a place that has both plants/berries to eat and animals to hunt. I'd just really love to see who taps out first. My bet would be on the vegan.
Not true.
lmao
That's what I doobviously.
even if I overcook them for 24h after soaking them, they still give me the shits and I get this weird brainfog like 50% of my energy is being relocated into my gut to help with nutrient absorption.
I went on a pork chop only diet for a few weeks and I felt amazing, but that shit isn't healthy, and it's kinda costly, not willing to do it again.
I think it really is the fiber, the problem is it's impossible to get enough nutrition from a plant based diet while avoiding fiber.
Honey gives me insane candida overgrowth and fucks up my teeth.
I was on a lot of milk before and digestion was pretty good, but I felt like it was ruining my teeth and feeding bad bacteria because I would wake up every morning with a white coated tongue and horrible breath.
I am doing that right now, I still consume things like rice, but no more pasta or bread or anything with gluten.
I confess I'm giving up on meat out of laziness. Onions is much more convenient as it is easy to store, prepare in bulk and doesn't get my pans all greasy.
post body weak fag and ill post mine
Cant we have a vegan thread without people argueing whether or not its good, dont get me wrong I want people to debate that but can we leave it out of food threads so I can come here to get some recipes? Whats the point if everybodys going to argue about something off topic?
when your parents die of heart disease or get cancer and expedite metastasis with their diet, remember that you made this post
kys fag
Fuck off, beta-faggot and hang yourself or I will do it myself on the day of the rope.
>What ever happened to these threads?
>Anyway,
Animals are given B12 supplements. Vitamin D is supplemented in dairy milk. Go look at a cereal box, you'll see a huge listed of added vitamins and minerals including B12.
You have to gradually add fiber. If
you do it too quickly you'll have a bad time because your body is not adjusted.
> thousands of rodents and animals die in combines
> rodents and rabbits are incapable of hearing and seeing gigantic loud ass machinery and running away
You do realize animals eat crops in order to grow right? You're requiring many more crops to produce some meat than just eating the plants themselves.
I highly doubt you only eat hunted meat.
Insects are not sentient and do not feel pain.
Do pescetarians count?
Is it really possible for vegetarians/vegans to get enough protein for weight lifting without supplements or eating their weight in legumes?
It's possible but the percentage of vegans that do rounded to the nearest whole number is 0.
Impossible. There are simply too many retards out there who aspire to generate meaningless hatred on topics that don't affect their lives (though it kind of does in that they're contributing enormously to the destruction of the environment on which they're dependent).
Remind me again how my personal lifestyle choices affect you user? Oh, that's right, they don't.
Mediterranean diet is best.
>What ever happened to these threads?
no one like them
I think a vegetarian can get the right amount of protons for gainz for sure. Vegan must be much harder.
Vegans can't GOMAD like based vegetarians.
gomad is shit anyway, pescatarians have a huge advantage when it comes to getting zinc, omega 3's, leucine, potassium and magnesium though from based sea food.
im lactose intolerant (from my time living in the US and refusing to touch that antibiotic, pus ridden milk you freaks like to drink) and can't drink milk. Yogurt and butter are okay.
I have a cup of lentils at least almost everyday. Brotons are not hard for me.
On the other hand nobody shitting on veganism ever posts their body either. It's almost like Jow Forums is 90% DYEL except for some fags in the CBT threads
I eat that shit multiple times a week. Staple meal. Great macros and micros
>when controlled for socio economic status, lack of smoking, and increased instances of being physically active, a vegan diet does not have a higher life expectancy than any other diet
>plant protein is very difficult to eat in quantities high enough to trigger maximum muscle production. Have to supplement leucine or eat tons of protein powders
Lmao.
nice timestamp
>go to bed
>get up
>still no body pics with timestamps
>but plenty of excuses
Nice going vegans. Clearly your diet is conducive to gains.
Nobody really cares about arguing with you. Maybe the diet is quite poor for bodybuilding - it probably is, especially since every IFBB pro eats meat. But that's besides the point. Restrictive diets, like fasting for religious reasons or vegetarianism, is about making a sacrifice of certain luxuries to live more ethically and more in line with what you believe in. Nobody is trying to say that this lifestyle is superior to anyone's, it is just a personal choice.
This thread is here to share how to get protein sources and support other vegetarian and vegan fitness enthusiasts. Do you not have anything better to do than just argue with people just because they choose something as insignificant as to eat differently to you?
Is this what your life has become?
i want to get big, how do i get big on a vegan diet?
