Actually, growing up the richest kids in class were also the most loved kids in class. In fact that was one of the only real friends I ever had growing up. Being rich doesn't alienate you, it makes you calm and happy to a point that everyone just hangs out with you because it's so nice to feel genuine happiness. I grew up working class, the electricity in my house went out a few times because my parents couldn't pay the bill. For breakfast, all I would eat is a strip of bacon or two and an egg because my parents had other, more important things to spend money on. Kool Aid was the only non-water drink I had in my house. We drank water from the faucet.
Every school I went to was public. Sometimes we'd have "no uniform" day and I'd show up in my uniform because I didn't have clothes that fit. My mother would slap the shit out of me if she saw me spending money on anime figures.
