Did anyone here actually fall for the Kony 2012 stuff?
Did anyone here actually fall for the Kony 2012 stuff?
wasn't the meme way bigger than the actual thing?
Yes but it was a brilliant marketing meme to get money out of normals
lol normies and their pet causes are fucking hilarious
>fall for
I thought it was a real thing.
I bought the action box but still haven't received my kony vibrator, it's been like 6 years
It was an absolute shitshow and probably the kickstarting point of the current wave of virtue signalling and moral vanguarding. The negative section of the Wikipedia article
We had to watch this shit in English class high school. Fuck you Tracy, you were only allowed to share videos 5 minutes or less.
did tracy jump on the kony bandwagon?
>Kony 2012
The moment I knew without a doubt everyone on the internet was a fucking idiot. It's even worse now with Instagram. I wish I could go back to early 2000 internet.
Yea back when I was 12 and retarded. Actually used to shill for this shit on facebook because sjw schooling
No, I hated niggers even then and couldn't care less what happens to them in Africa.
I was a kid at the time (15 or so) and I had no idea it was all a scam. Didn't buy anything or give them money but I remember sharing the video and feeling genuinely concerned.
It was some kind of CIA experiment, right?
So it was all a scam? That dude wasnt even real?
Yes it was a scam.
Yes he is real.
I think it's interesting how people on r9k are so violently opposed to any kind of care for the weak and downtrodden when we ARE the weak and downtrodden. I do think there are good arguments for not falling for straight up bullshit but the core sentiment seems to still be fuck you i got mine. I think it's funny in an ironic way because that mentality is more or less the reason why most of us are here and shunned by society.
>Give me your shekels and let's save the african people, goy.
dude it wasn't real lmao
Yeah yeah i know, i'm not talking about this in specific, i just used this thread as an opportunity to talk about this stuff.
No I thought it'd be pretty cool to be a kid with rifles and do whatever I want
>People on here were born in the 2000s
Rip
I lived in Uganda life a year and never heard of this guy and somehow when I was in the USA I was surprised when people fell for the meme.
I knew it was meme the moment it started blowing up.
I did my pard :DDDDDDDD
Some people say they found this place when they were 8 so there might be people here who were born in the 2010s.
>I wish I could go back to early 2000 internet.
me too....
The negative section actually has a really good point. Everyone calls them SJW warriors or stuff like that when they're more accurately just 'slacktivists'.
>not being happy that you got to spend your class watching a movie
Fucking nerd.
>we ARE the weak and downtrodden
