It's just not eating, right? But here's the problem. I can't workout if I don't ear prior. Last time I went to lift and run without eating breakfast, I nearly passed out and the gym hunk had to force feed me Gatorade. Also how effective actually is fasting for weight loss?
I'm confused about fasting

not gonna make it
Fasting is for fatasses.
Eat before you workout, and if you have 24 hours where you dont workout, do fasting or whatever meme you want.
But user, I'm at 26% bodyfat. I'm a fatass who wants to be at 5% bodyfat.
if gatarode helped youre low on electrolytes, look up snake juice or broth soup fasting
Working out fasted is actually really pleasant once you get adapted to it, imo
t. skips breakfast and exercises before eating

You must first transcend yourself if you desire to reach greatness
Are you female? You literally can't do that
I think you have to get used to it, when your body learns that you're fasting.
Male.
It’s easy, start with intermittent fasting which is a daily fast of at least 16 hours. Not much of a fast but it’s a start. 18+ is better and eventually you can experiment with 24+ hour fasts.
I'll answer this question for you, based on what people have been posting on Jow Forums
CICO, 500 cals deficit: 1 pound a week (roughly)
CICO, 1000 cals deficit: 2 pounds a week
fasting basically doubles that. You'd be losing 16 pounds in a month if you do fasting/refeeding.
I was asking the other day about an hypothetical scenario where I consume 1000 cals a day (my case) and create an additional 1000 deficit through one hour of spinning every day. I think theoretically this would allow me to lose weight as fast as fasting, although I'm not sure if there are differents at the metabolic or cellular level.
Since you're not an absolute fatass, I would recommend you do CICO with a 1000 or 500 cal deficit. That way you would have energy for your workouts and create more caloric debt that way. Also, losing weight fast creates loose skin.
Good luck user
So, don't fast. Just cut, one meal per day
I'm the opposite. I can't work out if unless it's on an empty stomach.
I hit the gym within 10 minutes of waking up then eat a 1300-1500 cal breakfast afterwards then only eat salads and fruits throughout rest of the day. Repeat as necessary
I wish the gym hunk would force feed me Gatorade :(
I don't eat till around 11am, when my work has lunch. This is my main meal and around 60-70% of my total cals. From there, I eat my main meal, then carb up (20-30% of my total cals in oatmeal) at 2, Lift between 3 and 5, and then have a tiny meal (10% remaining) at 7.
I was already losing 1 lb per week, I just wanted to speed it up to shock some people who always doubted me.
Me too.
26%!? Holy shit ahahahhahahaha
I'm at 31% but getting better
I'm not that bad, am I? At least I'm not obese anymore.
You dont need to fast. Cut carbs and keep your calories in lower than your calories out and you'll be fine. Eat before you workout lol
On day 3 of a modified water fast detox (lemons and jalapeño pepper water), basically no calories. Have been doing boxing, jogging, body weight exercises, and tons of walking. Yeah it sucks, but so does being fat. If you can do cardio in a fasted state you shred the fat off of you
>gym hunk had to force feed me Gatorade
w-wwhat happened next op
its not good but nah its not like laughably bad or unusual. I was worse when I first started, probably around 35%
He patted my shoulders and asked if I was okay. Then he took me to the bench and told me to rest for a bit, so I did. Then I continued lifting for two more sets and got on my way home.
Over 25% bodyfat is the medical definition of obese
I'll be normal by next week then.
Fasting destroyed my muscles. I did a month-long fast and now I'm a skinnyfat shrimp who can't even do 10 pushups in one set, when in high school, I could do twice that many as a morbidly obese hamplanet.
You need your protein. One gram per pound of lean body weight. You also need carbs and fats, but don't overdo it. Do IF or your standard 3 squares a day. Doesn't really matter. It's really all about calories in vs calories out despite what the snake diet cultists will tell you.
I can't lift effectively without eating, but I can do cardio just fine. Stick to fasted cardio. If you can't do an intense HIIT session, go for a hike or a long walk.
It's pretty effective at losing weight desu. Fasted down to 136 from 175 without exercise. Now that I'm lifting I still fast and I'm making about 2 lbs a month (I'm in the 140s now).. pretty sure it's lean mass since I measure my body fat and weight often.. you're just not keto-adapted yet, or you probably weren't in ketosis.. even while prolonged fasting, I could do hiit like normal.
fasting is for muslims and other morons you dork
did you weight train during the month long fast?
Yes, I did.
I fast, but eat something small before working out in the morning. Intermittent fasting is good but just make sure to eat something that will sustain you for the workout so that you don't pass out.
>gym hunk had to force feed me Gatorade
c'mon user, full details. I need the details.
Not sure exactly what I was when I started, but I lost a little over 25% of my bodyweight when I started. That would have been 5+ years back, I never want to get back to that.
You've good user
Make sure you're hydrated. Fasting does not include not drinking water.
It’s because you did a month long fast and broke down your muscles you absolute retard. To maintain muscle mass don’t fast for more than 48 hours and workout. Should have done a 24 hour fast every other day and ate at maintenance. Heck doing it right you can build muscle and lose fat at the same time.
this 100%
Just go 16/8 fast, and neg 500 Cal's.
Eat a bit more protein than you need and drink more fluids ( zero/low cal fluids).
I have lost 9kg's in 16 weeks and got stronger too, bf gone from 20% to 13% - going to hover at 10% as it is a sensible level to maintain long term.
Wrong, it's overweight.
>350lb obese fatass
>start IF and slowly raise it to every other day fast
>now at 297 in four months
I also went from a less than 5 push-ups to able to do a diamond one. I’m gonna get down to a respectable weight (200lb since I’m 6’5) before starting SS and doing a clean bulk until noob gains run out.
