Holy shit. I started my pull day with pull-ups and the day after my lats feel super sore. I can’t feel shit qhen i do lat-pulldowns but man pullups are nice. How can i increase my reps? I tried to do it 3x8 but could only do 1x8, 1x5, 1x5

Do more pull-ups. That’s the only way. I wish the more was another, but that’s the only way to make em easier. heavy back rows, face pulls, deadlifts, lat pull downs, etc they all make your back stronger, but the only way to get good at pull-ups is to do more of them.

Do as many as you can and then rest for 30 seconds and go again. Keep doing this until you hit a good morning.

if you can rep pull ups you're already on the right track. just do more of them with good form

I do pullups first on back day, steadily progressed doing 5x5 from body weight to 1.5 plates, you can progressive overload with anything desu.

Is there any actual difference between pullups and lat-pulldowns? Either way it's the same thing but just from a different frame of reference, right? Only difference being that the weight is (more easily) adjustable with the lat pulldown cable shit.

Am I missing something? I'm /homegym/ so I don't have any cable stuff either way and do weighted pullups

yeah. if u dont wanna buy weights u can do variations like one armed, assisted one armed, wide grip etc. to progress.

Focus on heavier weights instead of doing more reps.

Add on weight once you can do 5 reps, and then add more.

Start some sort of progression or Grease the groove like the anom that posted about Pavel, assistance exercises for back strength can be rows, supinated your hands for more bicep involvement since that's important in any pull or chin up, like bent over barbell, t bar, dumbbell, whatever. Still do plenty of pull ups tho

Do fewer reps everyday even if you don't workout. And do weighted pull-ups. Do weighted even if you can't do them. I have a bar at home and I just do 1-2 reps each time I pass under it.

I'd do 5x5 until you get to about a plate, then I'd switch to 5x3.
